आज स्वर सम्राट मोहम्मद रफ़ी साहब का जन्मदिन है। रफ़ी साहब कितने बड़े सिंगर थे इसका अंदाजा आप उनके दो पहलू वाले गीतों को सुनकर लगा सकते हैं. दो पहलू वाले गीत 1- अकेले हैं चले आओ जहाँ हो, कहाँ आवाज़ दे तुमको कहाँ हो ( फ़िल्म- राज़ ) 2- तेरी आँखों के सिवा दुनिया में रखा क्या है। ये झुके सुबहा चले ये झुके शाम ढले,मेरा जीना मेरा मरना इन्हीं पलको के तले ( फ़िल्म- चिराग ) 3- दिल जो न कह सका वही राजे दिल कहने की रात आयी ( फ़िल्म- भीगी रात ) 4- अहसान तेरा होगा मुझपर, दिल चाहता है वो कहने दो मुझे तुमसे मोहब्बत हो गयी है मुझे पलकों की छांव में रहने दो ( फ़िल्म- जंगली ) 5- तुम मुझे यूँ भुला न पाओगे हां तू मुझे यूँ भुला न पाओगे, जब कभी भी सुनोगे गीत मेरे संग संग तुम भी गुनगुनाओगे ( फ़िल्म- पगला कहीं का ) 6- मेरे महबूब तुझे मेरी मोहब्बत की कसम फिर मुझे नरगिसी आंखों का सहारा दे दे फिर मेरा खोया हुआ रंगीन नज़ारा देदे ( फ़िल्म- मेरे महबूब ) 7- परदेशियों से न अँखियाँ मिलाना, परदेशियों को है एक दिन जाना ( फ़िल्म- जब जब फूल खिले ) 8- वो मेरी शाह-ए-खुबां वो मेरी जाने जनाना, तुम मेरे पास होते हो कोई दूसरा नहीं होता ( फ़िल्म- लव इन टोकियो ) 9- रंग और नूर की बारात किसे पेश करूँ ये मुरादों की हंसी रात किसे पेश करूँ किसे पेश करूँ (फ़िल्म- गज़ल ) 10- वादियाँ मेरा दामन, रास्ते मेरी बाहें जाओ मेरे सिवा तुम कहाँ जाओगे ( फ़िल्म- अभिलाषा ) 11- तुम जो मिल गए हो तो ये लगता है कि जहाँ मिल गया, एक भटके हुए राही को कारवाँ मिल गया ( फ़िल्म- हंसते ज़ख्म ) 12- ज़िन्दगी भर नही भूलेगी ये बरसात की रात, एक अन्जानी हसीना से मुलाक़ात की रात ( फ़िल्म- बरसात की रात ) 13- अगर बेवफ़ा तुझको पहचान जाते तो ख़ुदा की कसम हम मोहब्बत न करते ( फ़िल्म- रात के अंधेरे में ) 14- तक़दीर का फसाना जाकर किसे सुनायें इस दिल मे जल रही है अरमान की चिंताएं ( फ़िल्म- सेहरा ) 15- अजी रूठकर अब कहाँ जाइयेगा,जहाँ जाइयेगा हमें पाइयेगा (फ़िल्म- आरज़ू ) 16- जब जब बहार आयी फूल मुस्कुराए मुझे तुम याद आये ( फ़िल्म- तक़दीर ) 17- चले जा चले जा चले जा....जहाँ प्यार मिले जहाँ प्यार मिले ( फ़िल्म- जहाँ प्यार मिले ) 18- गर तुम भुला न दोगे सपने ये सच ही होंगें,हम तुम जुदा न होगें। ( फ़िल्म- यकीन ) 19- जिया वो जिया वो जिया कुछ बोल दो,दिल का पर्दा खोल दो, जब प्यार किसी से होता है------( फ़िल्म- जब प्यार किसी से होता है ) 20- यार जिन्हें तुम भूल गये हो, वो दिन याद करो ( फ़िल्म- वो दिन याद करो ) 21- आजा तुझको पुकारे मेरे गीत रे गीत रे वो मेरे मितवा ( फ़िल्म- गीत ) 22- तू गंगा क़ी मौज मै जमना का धारा (फ़िल्म - बैजू बावरा ) इन सभी गीतों को रफी साहब के अलावा लताजी ने भी गाया है। लेकिन ये सारे गीत रफ़ी साहब के नाम से ही मशहूर हैं हालांकि लताजी ने भी बहुत बढ़िया गाया है लेकिन लोगों ने रफ़ी साहब के वर्जन को ज्यादा पसंद किया है यही कारण हैं ये सभी गीत रफ़ी साहब के नाम से ही जाने जाते हैं। और उन्हीं के नाम से मशहूर हैं। बहुत साल पहले मशहूर फिल्मी पत्रिका "माधुरी" में एक मराठी पत्रकार श्री अजित प्रधान ने एक लेख लिखा था "गायन में महान कौन ? रफ़ी या लता" और उन्होंने गायन के विभिन्न मापदंडो और आवाज़ की खूबियों,पिच,ऊंचाई, गहराई, लम्बाई और प्रभाव के पैमाने पर ये साबित किया था कि रफ़ी साहब लता जी से ज्यादा बड़े या महान सिंगर हैं। उन्हीं पैमानों में ये दो पहलू वाले गीतों का भी लेखक ने आकलन किया था। जो कि ये सभी गीत लता जी बजाय केवल रफ़ी साहब के नाम से ही पहचाने जाते हैं। आज 24th दिसम्बर को उनकी 98वीं सालगिरह है। रफी साहब को इस फ़ानी दुनिया से गये 42 वर्ष हो गये लेकिन आज भी उनका जादू बरकरार है बस अफ़सोस इस बात का है कि ये महान गायक बिना "भारत रत्न" के ही चला गया। स्वर सम्राट रफ़ी साहब को दिली खिराज़-ए-अक़ीदत🎂🎂🎂तुमसा नहीं देखा💐💐💐मुझको मेरे बाद ज़माना ढूंढेगा👍👍👍

Same here for the last more than 45 years it has been Rafi Sahib and only Rafi Sahib.. It gives so much pleasure.. Simply rakes away all tensions..

Lot of great information. Rafi Saab is the only singer who sings same word in a song many different ways. His diction was superlative.

Rafi sahab no 1 gayak and no 1 insaan they, hai aur rahange ....salam Rafi Sahab.

Only singer with exceptional range and emotional voice. He is an ultimate class in the world of singing. Manna Dey very rightly quoted that you put all the singer in one basket and Rafi in another basket, still Rafi basket is much much higher that all others put together. Madan Mohan two songs from Sharabi kabhi naa Kabhi and Mujhe ley chal and Ravi two songs chooo lene do nazuk hoton koun and lastly jitne likhi thee maqadar main hum utni pee chokey should have been quoted for this purpose.

God creates special things once in thousand of years like Rafi Sahab We are simply lucky to have Rafi Sahab during our lifetime!

कालजयी गीत है , फिल्म तो 1952 में आई थी पर 1975 के आसपास, नौशाद जी के साथ एक स्टेज शो में लाइव गाया था साहब जी ने और ओरिजिनल से भी तीन चार नोट ऊपर। वीडियो यूट्यूब पर उपलब्ध है।

And whole of this universe has gone intoxicated by the sweetness and mesmerizing voice of (Sahab Rafi) it is giving heavenly effect no comparison to any living being in this world till this univers lasts.

Every solo song of Rafi song is a masterpiece in its own way. (However, about the duets and group songs, he had to sing as per the situation)

This is not just a video, it is a gift to all music lovers. I think Pyaasaa songs were and are of Supreme level - in all aspect. It is of course very difficult to chose Rafi Saab songs. I do think Rafi Saab in the 60s has never been replicated and no one ever sang at a level close to that.

One excellent example for voice control is ' mujhe le chalo aaj us gali me' from film Sharabi. This is one of the most beautiful and underrated songs.

Mini Sharma • ji, Absolutely true. It's a masterpiece in terms of the extraordinary composition, outstanding rendition and amazing lyrics. No singer could have done justice to this ghazal other than Rafi sahab . Rafi sahab is simply par excellence.

This is the first time that I am listening to a lecture of this kind. I find it very interesting and educational. Its the sort of lecture that I would not mind paying to listen to. I always thought that a song is sang and thats it. Now I see that there is so much to learn about each song and every time we listen we find something new into it. Rafi Saab was a great singer. Thank you very much Rohitji for explaining this so nicely. Your knowledge and ability is very apparent.

My favourites of Rafi saheb include: Meri awaaz suno/ Ek haseen shaam ko dil mera kho gaya/ aap ke haseen roop pe / main gaon tum so jao(both slow and fast)/ and the ultimate Bahoso hawas mein and many more to mention here.Well presented and demonstrated video on rafis songs. For unbeatable range listen to Taqdeer ka fasana/ Kabhie humnay nahi socha tha/ Parda hai parda/and the unique sadke heer(notice his range of voice which goes into the taar saptak easily without any strain.

There are so many songs of Rafi sahab which are just GEMS. He has been the singer of this millennium truly. The Creator of this Universe has to be really pleased and convinced to give us another Md Rafi. Songs like: Baharon Phool Barsao, Chaudhvin Ka Chand Ho, Chahunga Main Tujhe, Aaja tujhko pukare mera pyar, Kar chale hum fida jan watan sathiyo, Abhi na jao chhod kar, are not only immortal and priceless in his golden voice, but shall remain so forever in this Universe !!!

किस तरह से एक पढ़ा लिखा आदमी जो आज के दौर में जी रहा है 1945 से लेकर 1980 के दौर के रफी साहब के गानों का किस प्रकार वर्णन कर रहा है कुछ तो है मोहम्मद रफी साहब के गानों में जो आज तक लोग भुला नहीं पा रहे हैं बुला भी नहीं सकेंगे जहां आज के दौर में लोग बुजदिल सावरकर को भारत रत्न देने की झूठे और मक्कार वकालत को तेज कर रहे हैं सरकार को रफी साहब को भारत रत्न देने में संकोच क्यों हो रहा है क्योंकि वह मुसलमान है एक दौर इमानदारी का भी आएगा जब रफी साहब को भारत रत्न दिया जाएगा और इन मक्कार और बेईमानों को जातिवाद के आधार पर दिए गए भारत रत्न वापस किए जाएंगे इंशाल्लाह

Rafi Saab was just incomparable. You have explained so well and you are doing amazingly with the chosen songs.

Hatts of to you I think you are the real and the nearest disciple of that great divine outwardly down to earth humble personality Mohammad Rafi Sahab you are also a very topless good singer and your control is also very good your rendition is great it shows your class as a classical singer.. My humble request to God that he should give you a life with full of success prosperity tranquilty and above all a very long healthy future to come in your family is life. ( In my opinion one cannot single out one or two or three romantic songs of Rafi Sahab but I think one from ( mere Mehboob movie aye husna zara jagah tujhe iskh jagaye ) (the next one is from movie Night in London ba hoso hawaas mai Deewana) (. The third one is from movie suhagan tu mere samne hai teri julfen hai khuliI ) and last two are from film wapas ek Tera sath humko do Jahan se pyara hai I baharon ki Sham n jaane kiske Naam ) i think there are one amongst the top most romantic songs of Rafi Sahab..

I am thrilled to learn about minutest details pertaining to the songs sung by Rafi Sahab. I can say that each and every song of Rafi Sahab is a mile stone by itself in the history of music. O mere shahe khuva.... O mere jaan e janana takes us to a journey of love and romance. Raat ke humsafar, thakk ke ghar ko chale of 1960s is a romantic version which makes you feel the hope, freshness and inspiration in love. Rafi Sahab is beyond any words......

In “Aja re aa Zara aa” the use of “whisper “ in the starting; and the use of “shiver”in the antaras is magical

Rafi the great has sung innumerable romantic songs, I find 'Tum ek baar muhobat ka imtihan to lo' from Babar, remarkable 💖

रफीसाब रफीसाब है. Nobody can touch ups songs.

We all know that Rafisaab is one of the greatest; in my opinion the greatest singer ever the world has ever produced. However, most videos only tell you how great a singer he was. Yours is the only video in which his singing is analyzed so scientifically and so objectively. Hats off to you sir. Your video is a true tribute to the legendary Rafisaab.
