I mean she was an opera singer who lived and worked in Italy for 20 years. You cannot be an opera singer unless you speak multiple languages

when you started singing Madame Butterfly, tears came to my eyes. My mother was an opera singer. I grew up with it. I miss her You both have such beautiful voices.

I'm a classical singer and teacher... she is stunning. Absolutely stunning. I thought her jazz/broadway singing was gorgeous, then I heard her classical singing. I am definitely blown away.

THE FACE THAT HER STUDENT MADE WHEN CHERYL STARTS TO SING WAS EXACTLY THE FACE I DID

@@CherylPorterVocalCoach Oh my gosh, really!!! I actually have sent in an email already from the website, I never received a response. The only follow up email I received was in Italian.

I love that Cheryl is able to teach multiple styles of singing. It shows the diversity that there is in the field of music and how beautiful all the styles can be. And of course she's just a great teacher.

At the beginning I was like " How she will teach to an opera singer " Then she starts singing opera, Cheryl u're amazing

I'm glad i was trained in Opera singing, After that EVery other style is so much easier.Opera singers get the highest form of vocal training. Doesn't ruin the voice like pop singing.

Yes, yes, yes! My degree is in voice (classical/opera) but my teaching specialty is actually musical theatre. My "legit" training background makes it so much easier to sing everything because my technique is sound and as such my voice is healthy. Obviously, you make slight alterations so you don't sound like an opera singer trying to sing pop, but the technique translates across the board as Cheryl demonstrates. A healthy voice is a healthy voice.

You must be kidding. Opera has one of the biggest graveyard with ruined voices, any category. It's extremely taxing for the voice singing that loud for hours.

I know I love it a lot of times we students cheat and use modifications to take weight off the vocal cords sometimes it’s a bad habit sometimes it’s what we had to do when we were not as strong but as the singer builds in strength the teacher needs to train the student to lean and apply more pressure. Good teachers are worth their weight in gold

Cheryl, I'm an opera singer and voice teacher now starting to work with students singing non classical as well. Your videos are a biiiig inspiration and teach me so much about how to be a better teacher & singer. Thank you! ♥️

Now that is how you truly sing a legato phrase. Not many sopranos can really sing legato. She really is very old school technical. Love it so much.

I was confused when I first saw this; I entered, thinking Cheryl was teaching a famous singer, but when Cheryl sang that piece, I'm pretty sure I felt heaven's warmth hugging me, and I forgot about the confusion.

Sheeeeiiitt!! When the vocal coach began singing, I almost fell out of my chair. It was so beautiful to hear someone interpret the aria so vividly. Beautiful.
