“My heart will go on” please ❤

Time to say goodbye. It is such a beautiful song covered by Charlie. It is a bit heartbreaking, that’s was the time he was still not popular and tried so hard to win himself a chance just to perform, and it was still the period that “ everyone says I sang great, but when they come to a time to choose, none of them picks me.” Even with such a beautiful performance of “time to say goodbye”, he still fails the game…. We are so glad that Charlie has lived these through and now grows up as a super star.

My reaction when the female judge gave Shen Shen a negative mark for this audition: “dang, you are screwed Shen Shen! If this is not good enough to her, what can you possibly do better to please her? Maybe she just doesn’t like you because you are too good. 😐”. And yes, that show kind of reflected Charlie’s struggles in real life.. He always had to do extra work to prove his talent and worth as an artist.. and in the end on this particular show.. I was left in tears, all he did was still not enough to earn a place in the top. We are lucky that he never gave up no matter how harsh critics were to him. This man really sings with his heart and works incessantly to improve himself ❤

He’s definitely my favorite singer. But it’s more than just singing, his personality and kindness are also very attractive. Love him❤❤❤

I have a feeling you will have done the version with just the song. There are versions with Eng subs with his conversation with the judges before his audition which gives you insight to Zhou Shen. At this stage of his career, he was not confident. You can see it. He is surrounded by all these classically trained singers from internationally known music programs. At the same time, he had achieved some fame as a pop singer especially with his song DaYu which exploded on the scene as part of the movie soundtrack. Everyone had all these expectations. I thought the judges were more harsh with him on the show and you can see throughout the show how he struggled. All the guys loved him and his voice but each time ZS competed, he lost to others and felt he was letting down his team. He was in tears several times but shouldered through it. Thankfully, he smashed it with The Little Goatherd, which is why his fans are especially fond of that performance. It’s also touching to see how many of the more experienced singers took ZS under their wings and worked to build up his confidence. His growth from Super Vocal to Singer 2020 to Treasured Songs where he performs duets of treasured songs with different singers is amazing. His latest show, Circle of Sound was amazing and ZS shined as you have seen with Listen and Inflammable and Explosive. So many good songs/duets both tradition/classics and modern pop songs. His new album has been anticipated for 7years. His pre-released song Mirage is No 1 on the China music charts. He has 4 songs in the top 20 including Spring Snow and two music soundtracks. His album will be stunning I don’t doubt. New music video due on the 16th.

@@ThrogaI’m really happy you did the one with the subtitles. I have watched this entire program and the competition was ridiculous. So many amazing singers, Dimash was at their final performance, I can’t remember if he was a judge or just a guest. Also Charlie wasn’t a new singer to them. His first public appearance in China was Huan Yuan on the Voice of China which I think you’ve seen. This competition is from 2019 so about 5 years ago, and I’d like to clarify the teacher in middle’s remarks. Zhou Shen is classically trained as a bell canto tenor (in uni) he was not however trained as a counter tenor. That’s the part he figured out on his own, so not completely from scratch, but amazing nonetheless. He really is one of the sweetest characters ever. He’s grown so much more confident over the years, it’s beautiful to see. If you need any more recommendations, I would suggest his impromptu duet of Lake Baikal with Li Jian( the original singer), as well as his cover of The Orchid Pavillion Preface, by Jay Chou (that’s the gentleman that wrote Nunchucks that you watch Hua Chenyu sing). I sadly can’t join you on morning lives cause I work. But I try to watch all of them in the evening. Thanks as always for your wonderful commentary. I always enjoy it and I missed your intro song 😂, I enjoy that too💞.

Shen Shen has said before, many complimented his voice & praised his singing skill but in the end, less chose him. We, Shengmi felt his loss and we didn't even understand when we got attacked by other fans that they support their idols but somehow put the blame on Shen Shen? Shen Shen is hardworking and keeps maintaining his solid foundation thru discipline. His efforts pay off now. Shengmi knows how many songs he sang last year. When we thought it's already a lot in the previous year, he set another record. He is always down-to-earth and sings like his last moment so that's why he can always deliver 💯

He took a video while he was in Time Square!!! Dude, my Charlie boy, when are you coming to the Big Apple for your concert!!! BTW this is from a fantastic show/competition with amazing performances (mostly opera or musical style) and super talented (the show mixed the already-famous ones with the music academy ones and created amazing chemistry!) singers; even though I am a Charlie fan, he was just one of the stars there.

He was an unfailingly modest person, we always loved him

The centre judge is a world class baritone and said Zhou Shen has one of the rarest voices in the world, and believed in him all the time. He encouraged him many times to gain confidence and it was him jumping to his feet after The Lonely Goatherd when Charlie really became the performer he knew Charlie could be. There are some fantastic duets and trios with the other singers in this show. They all wanted to sing with Charlie. There is a video Super Vocals 10 Amazing songs. It's worth watching. Remember, some of these singers are still at University learning to sing classiically. It was such a great show.

Because there was Chinese opera in the song, he went to a teacher to learn how to sing Chinese opera. Among the recommended songs are opera songs such as Brightness, Seeking Bosom Friend in Jiang-hu and Orchid Pavilion Preface.

Zhou Shen is very gifted with languages. It is recommended to listen to him singing "Let it go" in nine languages.

"Mirage" is stunning

This is not his first appearance, his first appearance was in a competition show 'The Voice China' singing the song 'Huan Yan'. He was quite different from now but his singing was already beautiful then. Thanks for liking Charlie.

Zhou Shen is like a person who skipped pupurty. He is also a language genious (he can pick up a new language real fast). He is a perfect fit for songs like "Arrival of the Fairy Queen" or "when a child met an Angel" type of songs.

Zhou Shen's Time to say good bye version is my favourite one ❤ He deserves our appreciation, treasure and love ❤ I remember that his ex agent had arranged other jobs for him & crashed with that tv show period. And that might hv explained why he's not been chosen to be the final six. Anyhow, thank God we can enjoy many different genre of music by Zhou Shen now and he's now one of the top China singers! Ofc Zhou Shen is the best & the most amazing artist in my opinion! ❤❤❤

I like many of his duets also.

it's very hard not to fall in love with Charlie after listening to him, and it's too hard not to love Charlie after watching his reality shows, talking, etc. He is a very funny and smart and hard-working and humble and sweet guy. BTW, I love "Concerto Pour Une Voix" so much, it must be angel singing! Hope it can get to your reaction list next time.

Just can't wait ha ha ha. 👻The fact is that Charlie graduated from Lviv National Musical Academy in Ukraine in 2016 with full A grades. He had studied Bel canto there classiclly and formally for years. He was trained professionally by a very famous and authoritative Ukrainian tenor singer for a long period. So It's not like his success only depends on great talent(or genetic things) and great effort, just singing and practicing at home alone. What they really meant was that Charlie had never studied the specific falsetto tenor. He had explored and developed this tone perfectly all by himself, since his college major was more about traditional male tenor.

No, this performance was recorded in 2018 or 2019. He had graduated from the musical academy in 2016. He only studied dentistry earlier for just one year.

Zhou Shen behaves the normal being as one of the talented person in China.

Thanks for reacting to Zhoushen songs. This “Super Vocal” variety show was held in November 2018 when Zhoushen was 26. There were 36 competitors and personally I classified Zhoushen The Most Spectacular Amazing and Soul Moving singer among all. He did most solo items eg “Time To Say Goodbye” “ Memory” “The Lonely Goatherd” Best duet “The Crescent Moon” Trio “Hawthorn Tree” “Over The Rainbow”. Zhoushen is a professional trained Bel Canto tenor from the famous Lviv Conservatory Ukraine under the late famous opera tenor. Zhoushen singing skill is far beyond than any of the 35 competitors even better than the lady judge and the young male judge. I discovered Zhoushen accidentally by chance listening to his “ Huan Yan” meaning “Happy Countenance”. I was totally shocked by his professional singing skill! Like a CD! Zhoushen is a humble yet ever learning singer Pray he is blessed all through……………..

This is such a beautiful song and really showcases his talents. I never tire of hearing it. Although some people may say it is his signature tune, I don't think I'd agree. The song that he is perhaps more well known for is his massive hit Big Fish, which is the theme tune for a stunning animated film called Big Fish and Begonia (OMG you have to watch it - you can find it online for free). Knowing what the film is about gives the theme tune so much more depth. You often see audience members crying (and you know they must have watched it). Thank you for a great reaction guys! ❤❤❤
