I love how you brought up how older women are still here doing their thing in country music. we strive to respect our elders and it’s like the older you get, the more respect you have from younger generations. You have knowledge to offer and you do what you do best because you’ve done it for so long. Country music legends are revered and the older the better. Great examples of this are George Jones, Loretta, Dolly, Kenny Rogers, Charlie Pride, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams and Hank Jr. You know all the songs and they’re people that the younger generations always look up to and aspire to be. Country music is a family.

I saw her live back in 2000, and she just blows you away with her voice. And she's a pretty tiny woman, but her voice is ten times her size. Country music was the first genre I ever picked up and listened as a child and I love how I know these old school singers and they are still rocking it today! Awesome!! I love how you brought up how country has its integrity and still values country stars of yesteryear and how they are offered the platform to still make music and be relevant long after their peak days have passed. It reminds me of how the actors in England are not put out to pasture-they have to work their way up through the various theatres (Royal Academy etc). The girl in red you commented on is Casey Musgrave (4th year) she was discovered by Blake Shelton on The Voice. Loretta still has that luminous smile. Thanks for presenting this.

In reference to the comment on Sara Evans.. She leaned back because of the direction the line was headed. It climbed so she leaned back with the line. As stated, though, leaning in/down into the line provides better support, and something that went unmentioned: leaning in provides a more visual representation of the line "Feet on the ground". Leaning in pulls her closer to the ground itself from a visual standpoint.

Country music isn't my favorite but when I was a kid my aunt used to play it for me when I'd go to bed, and it was so low and quiet and peaceful. It helped me sleep and it just brings back so many wonderful memories. She loved Willie Nelson and Dolly the most so anytime I hear country music it brings me a little bit of peace.

Check out "Forever Country" Artists of Then, Now, and Forever. To my knowledge there is not a live performance but it is an awesome representation of country music and talent.

I really love your reactions videos! They're always so informative and interesting, even if I don't sing myself. Would LOVE to see you react to Adam Lambert's live studio performance of Closer To You, it's really stellar and I think you'd enjoy his voice!!

All of these women are awesome!! Country music is a family, but not an exclusive family. It embraces all those who embrace it!! As an example, Pink performed in a duet that, was to me, was one of the best in the show, and she didn't even swing from the rafters.....lol

Please react to more country performances. So many vocal coaches diss country singers and act like they don't sing as well as other genre artists, but they do! They're so talented.

I totally agree with you about country music awards is about family and camaraderie... As a solid fan of Shania Twain, these women were born to sing. I also love how articulate you are in giving your points of view. You're technicalities are helpful and informative... More power P.s. by the way... The singer when where you pinpointing about country music doesn't focus on youth. Country music has singers of all ages. That was Crystal Gayle the singer famously known for her very long hair... ' A long and lasting love' one of her hits.

What a *tara-ble* intro. (No I'm kidding you're hilarious.... I just finished watching pitch perfect and am all about singing related puns.) Side note, I'd love to see you react to the old morgan james version of take me to church (with pmj) (just finished watching your other video about that song in the subway!) I just love that song and love the emotion she brings to it. (Or perhaps I'm just being a fanboy, who knows, I suppose you'd be the judge of that!) Plus I THINK it's mostly done without any autotune effects on the mic? I'm don't have a good enough ear to judge, but I'm pretty sure morgan can hit the notes with no issues. (And she doesn't wuss out, just literally belts them.) Anyway, love your videos, you're wonderful to watch!

Hi Tara. Been following you for awhile, love the reaction videos because they actual help me learn more about vocals due to how you explain everything. I would love to see you do a reaction video to the Chandelier A Capella arrangement that Twisted Measure did. The way they did it gives me chills and I think it’s something all the viewers would really enjoy if they haven’t listened to it before and I would love to hear you speak on it.

My Father was raised in Stringtown, Oklahoma. He knew several of Reba"s family, and said there were some "youngins" running around all the time, he didn't know which or if any were Reba. But you can deduce what type of music I grew up on. Dad said, "There ain't but two kinds of music, Country and Western." I however have broadened my vision to include Southern Rock. Actually more than that but it finished the thought better in Remembrance of Dad.

My favorite parts would have to be when they all start singing let freedom ring. I can’t imagine how many times they had to rehearse that but it was a beautiful harmony. Another favorite was Jennifer Nettles & half of Little Big Town there harmony was amazing!
