Mitch brought this 79 year-old composer-jazz pianist to tears on this! What always knocks me out is to witness all five gather together, ‘cause you know the “Wall Of Sound” is coming and you know it’s gonna be epic! They deserve their fourth Grammy for this! Oh, and singing that minor 7th chord before that slide-up chordal ending was epic for me!

There's something about hearing Scott kick into the bottom pipes while in lead. He spends so much time with high bari leads, and when he usually gets the mid-staff stuff, it's background, so we completely forget how rich his voice is there.

IMO, there's a song where each member stands out more than the others. In this one, as beautiful as it is, and as much as the entire group did an AMAZING job (can't discount how brilliant they all are!), Scott was at the best I've ever heard from him. His tone was so rich and full. Loved hearing him at the lower end of his range, with such clear tonality. There's so much about this performance that stands out, even small things like Mitch and Kirstie matching pitch on one of the higher notes towards the end, it's hard to talk about all of the wonderful things they did here. But had to mention Scott in particular. What a magnificent piece by them!

I am FLOORED with Scott's Italian vocals. He sounds so much like Botticelli that if you were only listening you would think they were featuring him (Botticelli). This ,to me , is such a powerful and emotional song already, but even more so with Pentatonix's artistry on it. I cry every time I hear it and so far I have played it every day since it came out. I really love the harmonies and the enunciation that PTX uses. This is such a special song and so appropriate for this Holiday Season. Thank you Tara and PTX !!!!!

Bocelli is, without doubt, a better classical singer than Scott, but I actually think Scott performed it better, at least in the version I heard of Bocelli (sacrilege, I know!). I think Scott makes the transition more easily to a classical style than Andrea does to pop/main stream. Plus, Bocelli was a little older when he sang this, and it sound was just a tad thin. Scott really filled out his tone for the Italian verse, and it was gorgeous. He truly nailed it.

I've been waiting for this! As soon as I finished my first listen, I was like "I want to hear what Tara has to say about this!" Mitch seems to have made another leap forward in his vocal technique. He almost never did much in the way of runs or other ornamentation in their earlier songs - the one at the end of his solo in Amazing Grace seemed monumental. And here he's dropping then all over the place, beautifully. And Scott down in a proper baritone register for once - he is usually the T in their SATB (unless Kevin steps back from the virtual drum set in his throat to be the tenor). Great reaction.

While the original is still the very Best to me, I had to say that their cover, the Pentatonix cover, is the first one that lives up to being almost as good if not as good as the original. It is amazingly beautiful. I don’t cringe listening to it. I’m very proud of them for this version.

I suspect nobody remembers the fact that the original song was actually written for a forgotten animated movie called "Quest for Camelot", where it was sung solo by Celine Dion, with slightly different words than these. It was better than the movie deserved, but the difference between that version and this one is like a box-mix versus a $1,000 designer wedding cake!

I am so glad you are reacting to this. I was hoping you would. I think this is the most beautiful I have ever heard Scott's voice. The depth, richness and power was just fantastic. I about melted the first (and second and third and.....) time I heard him sing.

Kirsten really anchors PTX's supporting harmonies. Scott is amazing too, he has such a rich soulful voice and can take over bass when Matt is singing.

That made me so happy!! I love your reactions and I knew you'd love that one. I love "The Prayer", I'm kind of a weirdo that prefers the Celine & Josh Groban version, but they just smashed it. It was insanely gorgeous. And anytime we get to hear Mitch sing that gorgeously it is a gift to all!!! Thanks for covering it, love your reactions every time!!!

Tara I’ve watched you since you did Voctave’s Disney Princess Medley. What I love about your approach is how you highlight artists’ mastery of technique and celebrate that. Then you explain the nuance in a way that is accessible for anyone of any skill level. Watching you is a master class on the importance of acquiring tools for your musical/vocal toolbox and how, when and WHY to use them to make thoughtful, expressive stylistic choices that maintain the integrity of the score at the same time showcasing the performer. I love that you taught me a new appreciation for how to listen and appreciate vocal music performance. Thank you for positive energy and I always look forward to your reactions!

I definitely feel I missed my calling, as music is a whole body experience for me (as I thought it was for everyone)... nope, just the lucky ones like us! ❤

It was so wonderful to see your joy as you listened! And of course your appreciation and explanation of the nuances of their singing. I think you are the first one I have heard reacting to this performance who truly understood the song and the quality of the original singers, who are great in their own right. PTX has done a wonderful cover, and thank you for your enthusiastic, positive and knowledgeable reaction.

Is it just me, or I've watched hundreds of tara's videos and for every reaction she does, especially for pentatonix, i always get amazed at how she picks details of the music. Like i wont be able to hear 80% of the instrumentals in details if i don't use an earpiece or head phone. She is really trained i wish to be like her🙌🏻❤

Scott's voice is just made for Italian. There is just something about the language that does something to his voice. It brings out a fullness in his lower register.

Your little tidbit about “scrunching” on higher notes has made a world of difference for me! Thank you for teaching throughout your reaction videos and not just “reacting.” Myself and I’m sure many others appreciate it!

I can't stop listening to this song, and hearing the chords in my head as I go about my day, hanging there in my head, then I have to listen again to hear all the notes at once, there is something about this song that has captured me. I don't know enough about music to know what it is, but I am hooked on the chords and chord progressions and the way Pentatonix sound together (for the millionth time it seems...)
