@@lleylannastewart7827 I was at that show! My complaint is that JBA has terrible acoustics. I am from Greenville, hopefully Concerts will be back in 2021. I want to see them in a great arena. I saw Dave Matthews outdoors in Charlotte, it was terrible, the sound mix sounded as if he was mumbling. I could not even sing along. I was so excited to see him. I went to South Africa in 2016 and fell in love with preserving Rhinos and Elephants. He sells things at his Concerts to help those efforts. The best arena in our area is outside Atlanta. I can't remember the name, Exfinity maybe. We have seen Hall and Oates, Tears for Fears and U2 there. There are hotels near most Concert venues that will shuttle you to and from, without having to worry about parking.

Perhaps it's time for some introductions. Megaphone Man (I like that by the way) is Mitch Grassi. Voted by the members as the best singer of the group. I tend to agree. The Girl is Kirstin Maldonado. Best Mezzo Soprano by far. My opinion, of course, but if you disagree, you're wrong. :) The Tall Blonde Guy is Scott Hoying. Great Baritone in his own right. The Bass Guy is Avi Kaplan. Has been known to register on seismograph equipment occasionally. The Human Sound Effect is Kevin Olusola. Respectable Tenor in his own right. Sings occasionally. Human 808. Has more sound effects at his command than all of the Walt Disney Corporation. Plays a massively wonderful Cello. Saying these kids are good is a massive understatement.

No, it is not. You need to look again, Samantha. When Tara first comments on the addition of the wind, Kevin is singing WORDS and Avi is the WIND. At times, it IS Kevin making the wind (like when you hear the bass notes) and, at times, it is BOTH of them. (I wouldn't be surprised to see that others in the group added to it as well.) They work so well together and add so much to the group. The trio would not be as good with the addition of 4 and 5.

Bullshit. Id bet my life on the fact that the soundman triggers effects from the board live and there were DEFINITELY effects added in mixing. I can easily recreate that in Presonus Studio 1 v2 Pro. with the Amplitube plugin and some native stock effects. You can also find Martin Sexton doing this exact same thing on his double live release "Live Wide Open" from 2002.

During live versions of this song on their newly finished tour, Mitch gave his first part of the solo a lot more emotion. Maybe you'd want to check them out sometime so you don't have to "forgive" Mitch as there would be nothing to forgive (but maybe you wouldn't be really happy with the way he shapes the "mEE" vowel sometimes haha). I've always thought Mitch's voice belongs in musical theatre and those performances confirm it for me. It would be great too if you would react to Superfruit's Hip Hop Goes Broadway videos. They're really fun and they have great vocal moments and it'll be interesting to hear your thoughts about it :)

Mitch Grassi: so-called "megaphone man," also in Superfruit along with Scott Scott Hoying: tall, blond guy who sings lead a lot, also in Superfruit with Mitch Kirstin Maldonado: the girl, you reacted to her in Disney Love Medley with her then-boyfriend Jeremy but she also has some newer stuff that's really good and she was on Broadway a few months ago in Kinky Boots Kevin Olusola: the beatboxer, he has some really cool "KOvers" he has done solo that you should check out Avi Kaplan: the bass, he left the band a bit over a year ago, releasing some cool solo music shortly afterwards, and was replaced with Matt Sallee (who you saw in the Evolution of Rihanna video)

Mitch is a tenor and has the solo for most of this cover. Scott is the baritone of the group and the tall man with blonde hair. Avi is the original bass of the group (he left in 2017 and helped find his successor Matt). Kirstin is the mezzo soprano of the group. Kevin is the beatboxer, a tenor and cellist of the group.

Great reaction! I have seen this before and been amazed for sure! I just caught on to the homage they are paying specifically at the 8:05 mark (5:05 mark in the original video) to Dr Brian May, Queen's guitarist, who is an atstrophysicist -as they voice emulate Brian's guitar solo, they are showing the perseid meteor to the sound of his emulated guitar - that is genius!

I think you’d love the technical side of their first grammy award-winning arrangement, Daft Punk! Some of their amazing vocal performances are AHA Live At Singapore Star Vista, Hallelujah, Say Something, Imagine, Gold, their lIve Star Wars performance at the AMAs. Since you love the beat boxer, Kevin, you should watch his solo stuff. Down is my favorite that shows off his amazing skills.

On their tour this year, they decided to add "Bohemian Rhapsody" (for the first time) to their concert, and used it as their 7+ minute encore/finale. I promise you, IN PERSON, it was equally amazing and stellar....even though Ari is no longer on that deep bass line. Their whole concert was great, but this was literally other-worldly. Squeeeeeee!

I was following a Pentatonix thread (reaction videos) on KZread when I found you. I found you easy to look at and listen to. You are intelligent and well educated in music, your observations and criticisms are gentle but pointed, and the mastery you have over your voice is astounding. You Tube and other media platforms change their algorithms frequently and when they do, some channels rise and others fall. Those channels rising and falling are collateral damage or blessing. I suspect KZread recently made some algorithmic changes that resulted in you rising. Today Facebook reported a 50 million customer data breach so those on Facebook should expect changes. Never in a million years would I have ever typed into the search bar "vocal coaches" but you popped up and I am very glad. Keep up the good work.

Tara, you are awesome! I enjoy every moment of your videos! I didn't think there was any way this vocal arrangement could be improved, but I have to agree with the two suggestions you did make, regarding the grit and the dynamics. Two little points that you might be interested in: 1) When they do this live, Mitch doesn't use the megaphone, and he still sounds like a guitar. 2) Pentaholics cringe when people refer to "THE Pentatonix." The preferred form is simply "Pentatonix," as in "I've heard Pentatonix many times now" or "I love Pentatonix." But just as you forgave Mitch, I will cheerfully forgive you, because your reactions are, indeed, awesome.

Really great reaction. Please keep up with the Pentatonix reactions because there are so many more really good ones. I watched them being interviewed once and the interviewer asked them if there was any song they wouldn't cover and they all said Bohemian Rhapsody. Obviously they figured it out because this is amazing. Just a side note: The bass, Avi Kaplan studied opera in college and the beat boxer, Kevin Olusola, picked up beat boxing as a hobby in high school. He also plays piano, saxaphone and is a classically trained cellist. As if that isn't enough he graduated from Yale with a degree in pre-med and Asian studies. Along with other languages, he speaks flawless Mandarin Chinese. A very impressive and really super nice guy.

Other than that, I would request some other songs from the group like, their performance of Thrift Shop in the airport lol, their cover of Making Christmas from the movie "The nightmare before Christmas", their performance of tke on me, their performance of can't sleep love live and so much more lol
