LILIAC is my new favorite band, I think they're doing great keeping Rock alive. They're cover songs and originals are all top notch perfect! First song I listened to by them was Crazy Train on the Santa Monica Pier then Holy Diver and I've been hooked to them ever since lol they did Holy Diver so well that Dio's wife asked them to do a tribute to her husband. Greatest family rock band in world!

Enter sandman is one of the best songs and my favorite songs by Metallica which is my favorite band of all time.

Creeping Death from the same concert is fire to. Also you should hear Master of Puppets from 1989 seattle its fcking great ;)

The backstory is that in 1991 the Soviet Union had just collapsed and these a Udine members had likely never seen live western music... let Alone a badass Metallica show

This was history in the making, brought east to west together via music. Imagine the enormous energy, it must have almost created an earthquake with that enormous energy level, the audience feeding off the band, the band feeding off the audience.

For the record, please note Lars has hair in this video. The energy level here is turned up to the MAX!!!! One million tickets sold, I am thinking there should be a profit margin there..... This is a great show!

You have to understand the context of this performance. This concert was held at an airfield in Moscow, Russia just a couple months after the fall of the old Soviet Union. It was a free concert where 500K tickets were passed out but people just kept coming, and they stopped counting at 1.6 million, but people kept coming. This was the first taste of the western world for most of these people who had never known freedom from the communist Soviet Union. It was a celebration of freedom. Other bands who performed were AC/DC, Pantera, Queensryche, and The Black Crowes. The security was the Russian army and the helicopters were for air flow, 1.6 million people crammed together breath alot of air. 53 people died at this concert, but they died free and happy. Watch the song Creeping Death from the same concert and see the control Metallica has over these people.

The crazy thing was that this was right after the Soviet Union collapsed. Metallica's music was banned under communist rule. So, all of the people singing along had illegal copies. Amazing that there were over one million people at that concert.

Metallica are the band number 1 in Metal world and the vocalist (james hetfield) has passed through different voices by time and he have the best voice ever now in 2023
