That is called "Doble Kara" or two face/two voice singing here in the Philippines... Its not rare but its not common either but there are people here that can do that on a daily basis... its just that Marcelito is the best in Doble Kara singing.

Amazing isn't he, Marcelito sings in different voices, languages, and genre's. Abandoned on the streets from 7yrs old, he is self taught. His next iconic performance is "power of love " also on the wishbus. His performances on America's got talent. Despacito, perfect, hallelujah, you raise me up. Each performance will astonish you. It's not just switching vocal ranges. He's switching between pop and opera, English and Italian (at a time when he did not speak either language).

The benefit of no formal training is freedom to experiment. No formality and "this is how" you need to do it 😊 one in a million

One thing you may also want to notice is that Marcelito is doing this while sitting in a chair, like someone would do in your kitchen or dining room. That in itself is also an amazing thing if you ask me.

I'm so glad you reacted to this. No professional training, he grew up on the streets alone. The only thing better than his musical talent is the kind of person he is. Humble, very generous and just a great human being. The more you learn about Marcelito, the more you're going to like him. BTW, Morissette and Marcelito did a duet together. They sang "Secret Love Song" at the 107.5 FM Wish Awards. I highly recommend it . Thx Collena🎹😍

I think the truely amazing part is he is doing this in English and Italian. Neither of which are his native language. That and the fact he is also doing this sitting down.

Check out his performances in 3 rounds of America's Got Talent the Champions. The judges and audience were awestruck too. He was the winner of Philippines Got Talent in 2011.

Two personalities, Celine & Andrea, Female and male sounds precisely executed, in two languages - neither one is his native language which is Tagalog. I have made this comment before but would like to share it with you. I have a theory: Marcelito, is, of course, gifted with an unbelievably beautiful voice, but it is his BRAIN that can MEMORIZE exactly what he HEARS and his marvelous voice allows him to recreate it PRECISELY, even female voices, minute inflections in other singer's voices, and in accurate pronunciation of foreign languages. That strange thing that he does with his mouth after the song is because the Sound Engineers were teasing him about having a 'female voice' so he was 'removing' it. Marcelito is humble with a great sense of humor and a charming stage presence. Well, enough - I thought you might enjoy some insight into this gifted singer. Cheers.

Marcelito is the best ever!!!!!! I met him backstage after a performance in San Diego a few years ago. We took photos with us. He is an a humble and generous man. He’s absoluteness of a kind. G-d bless him.

@Voice Savvy with all the complex explanations on how he do it, makes me think is he really doing that coz basically what he did was to emmulate what he have heared.. without knowing the techniques.. really funny to think of. BTW, about the kind of performance he did was what we call "Doble Kara" or Double Face, it it very a very common performance most esp. during the 80's till late 90's whenever theres Fiestas or events like anniversaries there's always a competition of such.. and the performers or contestants had to wear a costume of half male and female from left to right.
