It seems there are a lot of "vocal coaches"/people who react to a vocal performance, and yes; they are entertaining. That's fine, but I really appreciate how you give concrete comments and criticism to actually help those of us who love to sing because loving to sing and KNOWING HOW to sing are two very different things. Being 10 years out of any actual training, just listening to your responses and critiques makes me go, "Oh, I knew that", or "Oooo! That's a good trick to know" and I apply it to whatever I'm singing and it's great! My wife even noticed a difference with me just singing in the car. Thank you so much for doing what you do, because I get to kind of nerd out, listen to singers I've never heard of before, and learn some things along the way. :D

I really think you should see Come Along by pentatonix and Change on the Rise by Avi Kaplan because you have seen much of their music and they have really come a long way. I think its really cool and also how Avi looks like a Viking. Plus his story on his website is very inspiring.

I am glad you have finally introduced yourself to KZ tandigan, though I wish you had started with something else that shows off the creativity that it she is well known for. Rolling in the deep would've been a great start. She can rap, she can make impressions of instruments such as a trumpet with her voice, and she's got some of the best jazz riffs and Soul runs in the game. She could rearrange a song like nobody's business. She had to learn how to use her creativity, because of an accident in her throat that took away some of her range. So while other Filipino singers are known for big ranges, she has to make up for it with creativity. She can still belt, and has a strong voice, and has great emotive ability in her singing.

She saying here with a darker tone than she usually does as well. Normally she has a more forward sound.

Hi Tara, for someone reacting to her for the first time, you are spot on. I don't recall if she had any pro vocal training at all, she got sick when she was younger and lost her higher registers. She is indeed perfect for bluesy songs and she is a super fast rapper. Her best quality I would say is her ability to convey the emotions that you never thought existed within the song.

you are right Tara, KZ can do a lot of genre and it shows in her performance in Singer 2018, a competition in China where Jessie J is also a contestant. Likewise, she has lot of other performances in the wish bus that you can view which really showcase her talent. She's a product of a singing competition too, X-Factor Philippines and she is under the tutelage of Charice Pempengco, one of your favorite singer.

usually all of us filipino's we have our own way how we sing it and we dont , ever and never copy we dont like that also the judges here in competition here in ph the judges wants to here is ur own version cauz for us the original is so easy and common u need to upgrade it or make it more beautiful

Thank you so much for this wonderful reaction and analysis on KZ Tandingan’s cover! As the comments before me suggests, I do hope you react to her cover of “Rolling in the Deep” on The Singer 2018. In one of her interviews, she said the producers of The Singer were a bit skeptical of her taking on one of Adele’s biggest song especially on her first challenge going up against Jessie J and China’s best singers. But her creativity and musicality blew them out of the water and garnered her the 1st place for that episode. I do hope you react to her cover of “Say Something “, my personal favourite among all her performance in The Singer 2018. Her performance was recognized by the original singer , A great big world, and on the comment they were “WOWED” by her rendition. I have to agree with them, her rendition was pure soul! Midnight - Crimson Glory...Miljenko Matijevic - Steelheart (the singing voice of Mark Wahlberg in the movie 'Rock Star')... the late Warrel Dane - Nevermore/Sanctuary...King Diamond...Brittney 'Slayes' Hayes - Unleash The Archers...etc.
