Do not say piece rather another example of great singer of Philippines. She's natural born talent and very rare.
From the few phrases of her rap, "Laking pagkakamali mo ako pa binangga mo" (Big mistake you messed with me), she turned Adele's "victim" song into a "comeback" song.....

yeah, which makes this song half original and half featuring rolling in the deep. The rap part is original arrangement too. So i say, a new version of Rolling in the deep by another artist (KZ) because the rap part was hers.

You really relate both songs the original and the KZ version as great comparatives in music that interpreted in terms of victim and revenge masterpieces. Fantastic dissection of both songs. The original is ballad-type, crying and only lament while the KZ version is reinvented rock-type mix genres - robotics, ballad , kpop, jazz and rap - whose story-telling is to extract revenged. It was not just fast but super-fast and furious rap. Both artists saw different light. Adelle may like to impress and seek devine guidance, or seek some form of relief and do nothing like a victim. KZ version went on rampage by rapping not just fast, but super-fast and furious - to extract revenged. This is creative music of its highest form in the light of of each other's experience. Adelle's original had millions of followers and became great hit decades earlier, and by now still had until the KZ version that proved better than the original with it's dark galactic background, sinister start and robotic mix, to jet-fuel propulsion midway of the rap part, and to the most explosive ending. It had conquered millions more across the planet. Notice how this artist combined all the body parts as each segments danced to the tune of salsa rhythmically as the instruments began echoing from bass, acoustics, xaxophones, trumpets and even the lights to form a unique masterpiece. Dead-center midway she hit the high-notes in seconds as she turns rear, her round-shape earring to the right about 3 inches in diameter fell un-expectively on the floor. As adrenalin shot sky-upwards and not to distract momentum, she swagged to the right, kneel, pick it up flawlessly as if it's part of her creative plot, and dart dead-center to add jet-fuel to a raging inferno to fiery end that had transformed the stage into tumoltous entertainment. Fantastic. Artistry of the highest kind. This story is just one piece of action KZ Tandingan had performed her creative artistry. A lass afar from Digos, Davao del Sur province about 2,000 kms down south from Manila, Phillipines. With no professional training, and singing started at 3 years old. The journey, the love and passion for music is embedded in her genes in big way from remote area to national prominence, and to global stage.
I love what you said! That being said, the "C" is still not "the least impressive" note! The quality of The C note is one of the best in most power belters. KZ had a vocal surgery which affected her range, she was told she wouldn't sing again. She worked herself to be able to sing at this level, and added a lot of creativity and musicality to what she does. You've only scratched the surface of what she can do. The woman is full of different arrangements, jazzy riffs , imitations of Instruments, rap, as well as emotional interpretations. Enjoy the ride!

Apparently she only came in 6th place but based on how many reactions videos are out there of the 4 performances she had during the competition, I’d say she succeeded beyond expectations. Just goes to show that singing competitions don’t always predict success.
To non-Filipino speakers, her rap part probably sounds like she was beat boxing.

KZ'S limited vocal range is not a handicap for her popularity. Listen to her other cover songs and you will fully appreciate her talent and uniqueness. She goes beyond the normal factors of range and being pitch perfect. KZ definitely has a gift to draw you into her musical journey of emotions, unexpected surprises and her out of the box musical creativity. I praise her for the hard work and giving her all to her fans. Both followers and first time listeners, such as myself. Every time I listen to this particular performance I get goosebumps. She is the real deal and not just a singer with a half a dozen memorable hits. She's a fighter even after finding out about her throat polyps that required surgery and being told her singing abilities will be very limited. She proved her doctors wrong. If this performance didn't give you goosebumps then you have no emotional connections with the lyrics and styles she is offering to you with her heart and soul. She is very gifted and I admire her humble and very respectful character that sets her apart. I'm so grateful and glad it was only by chance that I got to see this video performance. Normally it's hype that catches your attention first. KZ you are blessed and those who have crossed paths with your journey.

Tara, apparently KZ HAD greater range but then had some situation with vocal nodes that she never completely recovered from. She talks to Jessie J about it in one of the backstage clips from this show. She changed her singing style, adding in lots of creative elements and getting into rearranging songs around her current range, because of it. It's a good lesson for people in a similar situation to learn from.
@kersheydelacruz1071

She actually had a high vocal range before. But even before she was really creative. She makes the song alive like it was her own song.
Kz was a belter when she was still joining local singing contest and before suffering from vocal injury caused by a polyp on her vocal folds. She reinvented herself and found her own style and won Philippines Got Talent and the rest was history. She is an artist more than a vocalist

You hit the mark when you mentioned the highest note KZ Tandingan can reach. She is a great Filipina artist, and it's her artistry that we are most in awe of. She had a vocal surgery before but she is continually proving that the music industry is not only for those who can, as you mentioned, hit the "money notes".
She is the X Factor grand winner in the Philippines. You are absolutely right, she may not have the high notes but she won that contest despite not being a "Birit" or belter singer. She has the X factor that the judges were looking for.
She mentioned in her interview way back when she was doing the audition on the x factor philippines that she has a condition where she can no longer reach higher notes(can't remember what condition exactly)..
@Tarasimonstudios
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, someone else left a comment about that. It’s wonderful that she continues with her passion!
KZ's rendition of rolling in the deep in this instance is almost theatrical. Here's my take on her performance which I believe has several creative layers: interpretation of the story in the song, melodic changes, vocal style, and stage presence. I want to share what I feel about how KZ interpreted the story. The creative decision to start with an acoustic guitar and then the utilization of the auto tune is pure genius. The guitar implies romance that rolled into some sort of a bubble as soon as KZ begin singing with the auto tune. The transition is confusing- acoustic to auto tune - exactly what KZ wants to evoke (what happened after she gave her all in love?). The robotic sound effected by the auto tune is a reference for manipulation as KZ (who feels treated like a robot) sings "you played it... you played..." while standing still in that dark stage, her facial expression is sad and defeated. She wanted to break away from this unfortunate state. When KZ belts out a sustained note with the auto tune, that signals breaking away from the dark - she pushed it away (see her hand gesture before the sustained belt). The camera moved and rolled (underline rolled). The stage is now filled with streaks of light. She's free! She's no longer sad. But she's angry because something beautiful is all put to waste. It takes a technical vocal skill to utilize an auto tune in a live performance especially when KZ is clear what feeling she wants to communicate with her audience. KZ "owned" this song right in the very beginning. The rap is just a bonus. My two cents.
ON POINT .... ENROLL TO HER RIGHT NOW!
Oh my gosh! That was about 5x better and about 40x more interesting than the original version!!! I'm in love! 💝💝💝 (By the way, I AM a fan of Adele also!)

KZ was a power belter when she was younger. When she was diagnosed with nodules and had surgery she could not reach her range anymore. She found a way to make what she has work and it’s great.
She is such a stage animal! Thats what young artists forget about - its not only voice, its the energy, the presence, the ability to catch and hold our attention. Yessss! Slayed
Your reaction may be too late, but so far this is the most accurate! This is for me the best reaction channel when musicality and technicality are concerned. God speed!
You may not have noticed but KZ dropped accidentally her other piece of earring and picked it up with her left hand before the song ended without spoiling her excellent performance - great and powerful all throughout her show. Kudos also to Tara for very educational and constructive reactions. Keep it up for all generations to emulate and enjoy the world of music!
100000x watch this.. Kz.. songs. amazing...MOST of all FILIPINO are talented.. from. 🇰🇷😍
I am a filipina and hearing tara says exactly how we see KZ, I fell in love with her and her judgement ❤️❤️❤️
I havent seen mother Tara so happy and enjoyed with a performance until now so cuuuuute ❤❤❤
She's one of the singer-rappers that I admire because of how she respects both art and the language. The way she spits out the words are clear and comprehensible, in favor of those audience who doesn't really listen to rap music. She proved as well that rapping doesn't have to include curses to deliver both the message and the performance.
The band, the vocals and her presence makes it a total performance!
I'm Filipino and I can't even try to rap in Tagalog that fast, it's so hard because Filipino words are long and have so many ways to pronounce each word! She's so talented it's crazy. One of my favourite Pinoy artist ever!
Finally! You made us wait but it's worth it. Love your reaction here Tara ❤♥♥
KZ is a perfect artist. The only thing missing from her arsenal is a high pitch voice but who cares if one can perform like her. Fantastic!
OMG ! WOW ! a VERY BEAUTIFUL STUNNING WOMAN ! WHAT AN AMERICAN !
KZ was a belter but she had polyps and it affected her voice. She was devastated but later on she realized she can still sing and started from there.
OMG Tara, thank you for sharing this video cause it was effing FIERCE in every way immaginable! And I'm so grateful for your words of advice. I'm an alto and I often have vocal envy of all the money note belters out there. That really spoke to my heart... I was already emotional from KZ's performance so after you dropped the wisdom I literally almost started to cry! Message recieved! Staying in my lane and perfecting it. THANK YOU!!!
Yes!!! KZ believes that singers do not have to "birit"(to belt or to hit the highest note) to be a great singer! When she auditioned on a local singing contest here in PH, she said that and then proved to the judges and the whole PH (who loves high note singers) that artists like her can also shine on stage.
That was a very good reaction! Using what you have, not trying to emulate other singer’s range which you can’t do!
to those who don't know what is KZ's rap... It's all about expressing her anger and showing to him that she's strong
This is why i love watching Tara’s reaction so much! It’s so honest! She knows what she’s talking about and she knows how to convey it in a way that people, regardless if you know how to sing or not, will understand it!
this is not just a vocal reaction, this just went to life lessons. thanks tara!
KZ said that on her audition on a competition here in the Philippines, she said that even though she can't hit high notes, she can still prove herself as a singer. I can still remember that to this day. Very proud of her.

I agree with u Kz is pretty good with covers. It's like she's just playing and having fun with the music and it could still end pretty good. Especially in her first audition in x factor "Somewhere over the rainbow'' cover. She's a genuine music enthusiast and a great artist.
ABSOLUTELY... because kz admitted it herself when she was still an aspiring artists and contestant in x factor philippines way back years ago, that " you need not to belt out high notes to sing incredibly". AND KZ IS amazing IN MAKING other songs her own.
why am i crying ? thank you tara

Hi Tara! I love KZ aka The Soul Supreme is the Philippines’ most creative artist. She is also the fastest female rapper there that I know of. KZ had a throat problem when she was in third year high school. And so she found a way to tweak songs into her own and didn't belt it out like a lot of other singers do. Her unique style of singing made her a crowd drawer wherever she performed.
the most professional analysis by far from a professional vocal coach.its worth the most precious time of watching and learning.
I've watched this video countless times lol. I remember watching this when I was on 10th -11th grade and now I'm a 1st year college student.

Thank you for all the encouraging words you said 💕 I used to be like that, comparing myself to others who have wide range voices. But because of KZ, I’ve learned to embrace my own sound and only then I started feeling confident with my voice 💕
Actually I’ve watched one of Kz’s interviews she said, she was depressed before because her high notes were destroyed because she never took care of it. But she kept moving and used the ability she has. She said that she changed her techniques in singing from pop into rock because that’s how it suits her voice now. 👍👍👍👍
Ole girl is a performer honey!!
that was crazy good...next level
Thank you for telling people to utilize their own voices to the max, instead of trying and comparing themselves to people with higher ranges
I actually understand now the meaning of the song because of her interpretation. She's a great storyteller 🤩
