This workshop was a moment in time that has become so legendary. The emotion, the magic that was in that room that day could be felt through video. If Keala never does a single thing again in her life she will ALWAYS be remembered for this role. " This is Me " has become an ANTHEM to so many people throughout the world. This song saved me. I am disabled both mentally and physically but this song reached out and just absolutely smacked me like a fright train.

My favorite moment is this video is when Keala turns around after the first verse and the male soloist. the transformation in her energy from when she first came out from behind the stand is incredible

Her singing has told a lot of people’s stories. A lot of people feel like they are not fitting in. It feels like she is telling doesn’t matter who you are, just be yourself. This is what i feel like what she wants to tell people. I love that song. It is so beautiful.

She was so brave for playing that role and she killed it!!🤩

Oh I’m so glad you’re doing this, she was so powerful here and yes a little pitchy but with the emotion it was going to happen like you said emotions can choke the voice. This is a beautiful rendition of this song.

This isn’t a rehearsal, it was a showcase for potential investors trying to raise the money to make the movie. The other video with Hugh Jackman doing “From Now On” is even better in my opinion. Also, the level of talent beyond Hugh and Keala in that room is insane. Pasek and Paul, Cynthia Erivo, Jeremy Jordan, Carrie Manolakos, Andrew Keenan-Bolger. All Broadway stars and I’m sure I’m leaving people out.

I cry every time I see this video. I can feel her emotions. She has heard all of the negativity and that pain is real. Also, I’m quarantined so I’m more than a little emotional. Stay safe everyone

I have listened to this hundreds of times and I get goosebumps from head to toe every single time. Her tone, her grit, her emotion is impeccable .

This is one of my favourite songs and this particular version is actually my favourite version because it shows Keala's real emotions. The movie version is powerful but this one may be more so because we are better able to identify with her emotions that she is sharing so vividly in it.

Poor Jeremy Jordan. He was the stand in for Hugh (sitting two down from him) and was sick as well. He is amazing! Please react to him if you haven't already!

This song has become my anthem. I’ve been told by many people that I’m useless, worthless and I would never make much of myself. I’m almost 28 and I’m about to graduate in 2 fields that are heavily male dominated, so as a female I’m in for a fight

Keala is a gem - and this song was absolutely made for her. Love the energy in that room during that rehearsal.

I am able to sing a tiny bit like how she can and I was very sad one day and I started belting this song out. My mom was recording and she put it on facebook and I got so many positive messages. Since then this has been my favorite song.

When Hugh breathed that exhale, it was the perfect expression of " you got this" I have ever heard, proove me wrong...

Just watch the reaction and the excitement of the others in the room, everyone was feeling the emotion and the energy.

This rehearsal makes me cry every single time!

Keala is so inspiring. She has such a powerful and soulful voice, and the way she uses it is just so breathtaking. The sheer emotion of her singing is incredible and has certainly made me cry on more than one occasion. I would say that that's the kind of singer I want to be, but my voice is generally very different from that. As a leggero tenor, I feel like I would probably end up damaging my vocal cords if I ever tried belting like that

I’m SO glad you did this one instead of the one from the movie itself. At this point she hadn’t even been cast for this role. There is so much more emotion here than in the movie. I want to second another commentator’s request and ask you to react to Hugh Jackman’s song from this same workshop. And another request: please react to any of Avi Kaplan’s new music. In addition to the official videos (and in one case he has an audio only official release then later a video. He has also released some of his music recorded in his home that are spectacular. Please?!

Keala was clearly very nervous, and the young man who's name escapes me but I know he is a very successful broadway star himself, who gave her sooo so much with his lines, that encourages her to conquer, when she turns around its like she is a different person and I love that. It's the most fantastic proformance ever...I love that song SO SO much and Keala is everything...I know her struggle, as it's mine to..mayby not identicle, but I feel everything she shows and her and this song is SO theraputic to me...

She has a very beautiful voice and she is beautiful inside and out keep up the great work.

Definitely anthemic for all of us "less thans" in the world. It's the raw emotion and, as you said, it seems to be her story so the feelings are amazingly real and bless her for being brave. It's difficult to be vulnerable especially in a "professional" setting where the stakes are high.
