TRIVIA ON MOST FILIPINO SINGERS and THE COUNTRY'S CULTURE: 1. They usually don't undergo professional training, rather, they are trained by their parents even if these parents can't sing. Their ears are impeccable! 2. Most are trained in the ocean! Just like sirens 😀. They usually start just before sunrise, at chest deep water. they say it helps with their belting prowess. 3. Others take cold bath and showers while practicing. 4. They love taking salabat or ginger tea. 5. They start at a very young age. 5. We have singing contest in every city, province, barangay, for every age, and gender. 6. We have very talented LGBT singers. 7. Marcelito Pomoy is not alone. A contest was even held years ago called 'Doble Kara' (double faced). A single person duet. It doesn't matter if you're a girl or a boy, as long as you can sing in both voices, you're in.

Rebecca Vocal Athlete Regine Velasquez is one of these singers. her father keeps on asking her, and her sister to sing while they're out in the ocean. and it's shoulder deep, not chest deep. As stated by Regine in an interview: "We lived near the ocean. While I was swimming, he would ask me to sing. That was just it. That had lots of benefits. It strengthened my core, my stomach muscles. It really developed my lungs. I think he got the idea from Rocky Marciano, the boxer. He read that Rocky practiced, shadow-boxed in the water. [In the ring] there’s no pressure so it’s easier… but in the water, you have no choice but to punch harder. My Papa merely applied the same principle to singing."

Everytime I watch this Katrina Velarde performance, and believe me, I have watched it a million times already 😁, my jaw drops to the floor in awe of her phenomenal vocal power. This girl is truly special, and I agree with you, she's a vocal gymnast 😊. Thank you for checking her out! It pisses me off sometimes that even with her immense talent, the Philippine music industry hasn't given her a break. Many are urging her to go audition in UK's X-Factor, but i think she's being patient by waiting for her big break in the Philippines. They have amazing vocal skills in diction, articulation, tonal quality, and they can also belt it out powerfully, depending on the type of song.

Dang. Two years ago and she’s still liking comments from a week ago.

I used to watch reaction videos a lot. As in A LOT! And subscribe to a lot of them as well, but it gets tiring and disappointing as they only give us what we want to hear as Filipinos. Then I saw some vocal coaches analyzing these talents, but they tend to start doing the same thing that other reactors do just to get subs. I started to lose hope, and then I saw your eval of Morisette, and I was like, "FINALLY, a REAL COACH! i was about to sleep 3 hours ago, but I can't stop! You are now my guilty pleasure!

Rebecca Vocal Athlete regular reactors simply do that. react. thats it. they scream, open their mouths real wide and show expressions that are really really just for the camera. then some vocal coaches starts to slowly do the same. I wouldn't be surprise if they start running around naked!

How do you end up with these people? I have a bunch of vocal coaches that go into detail on specific aspects. Did KZread get better with suggesting them, recently?

I just realize that I do the second head voice when I sing when you show us the difference between Katrina powerful head voice and a slow non-powerful head voice. A great difference between them, Katrina's is amazing.

Hahaha ganun ba ang banat ni Regine sa kantang ito? At version pa ni Regine, alam mo ba sinasabi mo? Ang layo naman, sobrang die-hard ka tlga. Binilang pa nga na mga 15sec ang sustain notes ni Kat eh hindi na kaya ni Regine yan bka ubuhin pa, pwede pa noong mga 30yrs ago. Magaling pa rin si Regine pero hindi na niya kaya ang mga banat ng mga bata ngaun, matanda na siya 48yo na 'no. LOL
