This was Katrina’s big break it’s very early in her career and she glad grown considerably as an artist. Check out some more recent stuff to see what she has been able to achieve. Kat really is a vocal beast with an incredible high register, vocal agility and insane breath control. She’s the real deal and was completely self taught

I also find you to be a wonderful reactor I’d recommend Katrina’s most recent duet with Jessica Villarubin covering I Surrender. Katrina just lost her husband and the emotional delivery she puts into this collaboration is palpable. The power and techniques are incredible. This is absolutely worth your time. Kapamilya singer Katrina Velarde, also known as Suklay Diva, exposed something about her health condition.She was first joined the Kapamilya singing contest The Little Big Star. Suklay Diva also joined the X Factor Philippines. However, her career gone cold after that.During her recent guesting on Tonight With Boy Abunda, Katrina Velarde revealed that she got pregnant during after joining the reality singing contest.However, she stressed out that was not the reason why she took a break from the industry.She Has “Bell’s palsy is a condition in which the muscles on one side of your face become weak or paralyzed. It affects only one side of the face at a time, causing it to droop or become stiff on that side. It’s caused by some kind of trauma to the seventh cranial nerve. This is also called the “facial nerve.” She also said that she is till undergoing therapy right now.In spite of what happened to her, Katrina Velarde is still thankful because she gets to perform once again. She is also happy with the thought that she has her son, Kendrick, in her life. Katrina is mainly Self Taught vocalist who suffers from “Bell’s palsy is a condition in which the muscles on one side of your face become weak or paralyzed, still under treatment. Entitled as the "Asia's Vocal Supreme", Katrina Velarde is a Lyric Coloratura Soprano whose vocal range spans virtually 5 octaves (4.7 octaves), stretching from C3 to B7,[with the exception of an exclaimed 8th octave whistlenote (C#8). Being a Lyric Soprano, Katrina possesses a light voice, accompanied by a warm, mature and bright sounding timbre; together with a fairly high tessitura, this allows for her to scale as high as C6 (in mixed voice) with relative ease. You've never heard of Katrina before?! Where have you been? Asia's "Vocal Supreme", Katrina is considered by many to be the best "all-around" female vocalist on the planet. She is-in my 61 years-the best I've ever heard! EXTENSIVE portfolio and MASTER of her craft Katrina would already be a mega-superstar if she were born in the US but, being Philippino, doesn't get the exposure/recognition she is rightly due. The fact a vocal coach has never heard of her is a glowing testament to that.

@antigravity the vocalyst have just recently posted her reaction to gigi singing through the fire and piano in the dark. she was very impressed with the quality of gigi's voice and her singing techniques. based on her reaction, i don't think gigi is overrated coz it is very difficult to impress a vocal teacher like the vocalyst if gigi is just a mediocre singer. by the way, i also love the golden voice of nora aunor and i think that she is the best vocalist of her generation. morissette, katrina and gigi represent the younger generations of music lovers. it is really difficult to say who is the best since best means differently to different people. but these filipina singers together with nora aunor surely belongs to the top singers of any generation.
