He is criminally underrated as a performer and writer. What a great guy too. You should do monsters by him. It hits pretty hard, or no bravery.

The Radio 2 lockdown performance of No Bravery for Ken Bruce is something. I've never seen him angry before.
He always is able to drag you into his songs. It never leaves me cold.

For me it is Monsters since for me it hits so close, and sadly I can relate to the lyrics
The most beautiful thing about this song is that James always has tears in his eyes while singing this song. I really love his unique voice and his songs. I am so happy that I grew up with his music, it's so beautiful😍
Literally one of my favorite videos on the internet. His emotion is so real it's unbelievable!

@@BethRoars Beth , I doubt it , but are you single? you are perfect :) and amazing singer
No matter how many times I see this, still feel the emotion in his voice 🥺. And cry 😭
He stopped singing so emotionally for a long time as he was getting a lot of criticism but has gone back to it now. His song Monsters is heart breaking.

Are you sure someone criticizes you for showing your emotions in your songs? That's one aspect I love about him.
Such an emotionally strong song and it gets even more powerful with Roar's charismatic comments!

Can you look at Ben Howard ‘End of the Affair’. It’s another fantastic performance. It’s on Jools Holland.
This has been the best, most interesting analysis of a vocal performance that I've seen on KZread (and I've been looking). Well done! Thank you :)
Knowing that James Blunt served in Kosovo and wrote a heartbraking song about this time "No Bravery" listening to this song (live version on youtube) always brakes my heart.
Thanks Beth. I didn't knew about this absolutely emotional performance from James Blunt

I was going to mention No Bravery, especially the couple live solo piano pieces floating around, but you stole my thunder, lol. It's amazing how raw and emotive he is in them. It's impossible not to feel what he feels as he sings it. Music at it's purest level.
Finally finished the video. What a beautiful performance!
You shoul check out Monsters the official video. React to his singing when he is SO emotional. His producer wanted tune it in the studio but he didn’t want it. He wanted it to sound like it really felt for him.
Really got into James Blunt's music lately. Not sure what's more beautiful, his lyrics, or Beth's hair?
you know, the greatest skills and asset of james is emotions, you cant teach that
I am very impressed with your video. So much videos similar to yours on KZread where people try to over critique and cut the person down instead of appreciate their talent and uniqueness so nice job
Brings me to tears everytime ❤
How did I miss this one? Fantastic. I was in Balkans too. I love James Blunt.
He is simply amazing ,needs an O.B.E
I mean its 5:20 and im watching ur videos and just when i think to Subscribe i found this vid. Its amazing and the way you explain all the aspects of the sing makes me (an visual artist) understand. Greetings from México!
Beautiful song, beautiful reaction, beautiful reactor :)
listening to him in live performances is waaay better than in in cd's. I love him so much. No bravery is one of my favourite songs of his
Love love James Blunt. Always.
This was very nice. Thank you.
I love this song! Good choice!
The best vocal analysis on one of the best vocalists that I have ever seen or heard. He's a British commander alright. Look at him.
James has one OF the most Beautiful and unique Voice
The one thing that stands out for me is the gentleman in the grey, you see everyone with their phones not really connecting with he song but that man has lived this song he knows the pain that James so beautifully sings
Blunty is incredible. Why people didn't leap out of their seats to applaud him, I'll never know. I did.
Nice to see a video with James Blunt not having a single dislike
I love this song and you analyzing it just made my day. Maybe you could do Simply Red when they came to Viña del Mar, that was a live performance I will never forget.
So emotional. He doesn't bullshit you. If he does, then he should become an actor immdediately
After all these years I had no idea that he was a Captain in the Army O_O

A unique and truly remarkable voice... James reminds me of a young Cat Stevens
I'm happy to see you showcase a song by James Blunt that ISN'T Monsters. I see over a dozen James Blunt reaction videos in my recommendations, and Monsters is the only JB song they've listened to and commented. You also mentioned No Bravery, another great song. I love Monsters as well, but I feel Carry You Home, Wisemen, No Bravery, Same Mistake, Tears And Rain, and his cover of Crowded House's Fall At Your Feet are just as good, some even better. Music is my therapy, especially now. James Blunt's music is better for my mind than any drug I've been given by my therapist and oncologist. Also, 1973 is a catchy af song and a nice change for him.
I've always been curious who he thinks about when he sings that song... that emotion, is too real.

James blunt is so underated it...

Awesome 👏
Happy 50 birthday to James!
Thank you.
You're totally right it's all emotion ..
This may be a stretch but if u think about it James probably have one of the most iconic voices ever - you know its him straight away🔥❤
So beautiful but sad at the same time this song...
Please react to his official Monsters video. He had a big fight with his label which he won. It was recorded in a single take without any cuts and no auto tune. Talking about emotions, have a box of tissues handy when you watch it.
Superb singer unbelievably good find that more sad than his Monsters song but if you lost someone that song is cathartic & comforting
Love James Blunt. Beautiful singer. Beautiful pianist. Looks like he's got a spray tan.
His singing style is absoltuely unique tho, I couldnt name anybody else perofmirng like that. Sb has suggestion?
Those who can do, those who can't teach!
Nice voice, I like James Blunt very much! Would like to see you reacting to Peter Gabriel - My body is a cage, I love Peter Gabriel!
No Bravery is beautiful? No, it's brutal, heart wrenching. The only song I know that actually shows some of the horrors of war.
Great reaction to such an amazing and emotional artist. Always like how you explain and break down their performances. Would like to see you react to Daneliya Tuleshova again. She has numerous covers and original music, but would like you to react to her recent covers of Diamonds and The Month of May. Very emotional covers.
I fucking love this video from James.

what's interesting is that I see a similarity between his vowel shape to the way the BeeGees used to do it, Barry Gibb would sing usually in falsetto mostly but it was the same very peculiar vowel sound. Listening to the Brothers Gibb album where their songs are more acoustic, you can tell it's not only Barry, but the other brothers also had a similar sound, just a point to think about. Loved the video!
@BethRoars

Thank you! The BeeGees would not only have similarities in vowel shape but also being brothers probably have similar vocal track and larynx shape and size which would give them all a similar sound.

@@BethRoars That would make a lot of sense! Tbh it's the first time I hear James Blunt, but that very unique sound that reminded me of the Bee Gees with his own individual spin really caught my attention. Thanks for the clarification!
I have very good memories with this song since my wonderful and cute British senior students played it to my on my last Spanish lesson day. I dropped some tears hehe. Could you please react to 'como yo te amo' by Ruth Lorenzo homenaje a Mónica Naranjo? Ruth sings so well and beautifully here that you'll fall in love with her hehe. Greetings from Spain and keep it going!
omg I just realized we are wearing the same headphones. Nice. That means I have good taste.

He's probably more known as a singer now than the army
He has a good voice tbh
sounds amazing! I would love to see you react react to a song of Fall out boy (I like phoenix or the old ones like dance dance) it would also be awsome a song of dir en grey, evanescence or eisbrecher
Please react to the song "É isso aí" with Seu Jorge and Ana Carolina. Both are really fantastic! Ana Carolina is one of the most complete singer in the world. Seu Jorge is a great singer and dancer too. He dances the rhythm of Samba like no one else :-) He was a homeless for many years until someone discovered his talent. He was living in a street with a bar with live music and the singer just invited him to sing a song without even knowing him. Well, he never stopped singing from that date onward. Now he is very famous in all Latin America, Africa and Europe. He is also a great actor!
Stereophonics - handbags and the gladrags or their cover of free fallin’ are both incredible
I had no clue he was in the army. This was a great performance.

He was a captain and his father was a colonel. The phrase “ you’re not my father, I’m not your son, we’re just 2 grown men saying goodbye” ( but reversed) is what they would say to each other when james was deployed for service. James fought in the war in Kosovo.
I would really like to see her reaction to Whitney Houston singing the star spangled banner at the 92’ super bowl, the blend of vocal and instrumental harmonies makes a usually boring song transform into a tear inducing masterpiece.
Pretty mint bro
