This is from an interview Uncle Mike did with Music Norway in 2020: AGT had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. Astar says that it didn’t matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of question to give away that right. “Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs...."

For everyone who doesn't know yet: Not only did Angelina get the golden buzzer from judge Heidi Klum, but she also received huge praise from the remaining members of the legendary Queen. Queen were delighted with Angelina's arrangement and shared it on Twitter with the words "WOW, what a rendition" (three years later they repeated their praise on TT in March 27th 2023 with the words "absolutely killed it".) I think the wanted to sign her but her family and managers would not let her sign with anyone who wanted to take ownership of her songs. Smart move on her part but prob caused her the loss. It’s all about the money. Who will bring in the most money for the contract owners. Little Rest and much pressure for the poor unassuming kids. I heard one say “ they work you to death at the beginning and make you wish you were dead when someone shows up better than you. This so many drugs and so much suicide and over doses ! Sad. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when they are ready. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life She has recently performed at the Nobel Prize 2023, and also performed at the FIFA AWARD, also performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on KZread with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar.Angelina, is the young legend! DonVon, you SHOULD be on those shows, you COULD do that, and in fact, you'd KILL it. You'd be the most personable, relatable, supportive, intelligent, funny-as-hell host that ever appeared on a reality TV competition. Come get him, TV producers. He's the one you want. Edit: It feels like it's one of the greatest injustices of modern entertainment that she didn't win. It actually melts my mind every time I'm confronted with it. Except - ... we all know there's absolutely nothing that's going to stop Angelina from being one of the greatest singers who's ever been able to record their voice to share with future generations, so while it feels really really wrong, we know it's not going to have derailed her career. AJ's family would not allow that to happen because they wanted her to have as much of a normal life as possible and still pursue her goals, and money was not an issue because her family is somewhat wealthy. Several producers flew into Norway in their private jets after AJ wone NGT and tried to sign her, but the family did like the terms of the contracts. I believe one of the producers was David Foster. This video of Angelina Jordan performing Bohemian Rhapsody has been viewed over 150 million times.

This is a splendid example of Angelina's extraordinary and unique talent, her extraordinary intelligence and musical sense, through which she absorbs and transforms the great songs she loves so much. Every time she interprets a song by stripping it in her own way, she seems to simultaneously increase the level of understanding of the lyrics and amplify their expressive power. Angie blew away everyone who saw this, except the 50 "super voters", who were the only judges for that competition. Speculation is that she could not win because she refused to sign a contract with Simon's label company, but as far as I know, that has not been confirmed. At any rate, both got what they wanted ... exposure for Angelina and greater viewership for AGT. Her other two songs on AGT were killer as well. ❤❤❤

Not winning was the best thing that could have happened. Like you said, she got her exposure, but she didn't have to deal with all the contract BS with Simon's label and them trying to push her in the direction they wanted, not what she wanted and was best for her. I'm sure she is much happier doing things on her terms, as RR has allowed.

I literally get emotional every time I hear her sing this song. Her voice is out of this world. Her performance was so captivating and beautifully done. Normally for me when people do covers of famous songs, especially QUEEN for that matter, they are never as good as the original. Her rendition of this song blew the original out of the water for me.

Her uncle Mike is her Manager and Refused to sign a contract with AGT, that is the only reason she didnt win, she was placed 6th as the first 5 places are put under contracts, and yes she did get the Golden Buzzer, in fact she got the only Golden Buzzer of the season

And I read numerous times that her family wouldn’t let her sign a contract with Simon or anybody else that included ownership of her music. Very smart move onher part but others didn’t look too happy. Also I read that the voting was iffy. This could be wrong but I’ve read it more than a dozen times. I think she is the next saline Dion who just retired from Vegas and they will never find a better replacement. I love that she is so family oriented and that they aren’t letting her move too fast. God forbid she end up like Amy Winehouse, Elvis, MJ, . Also the blues and jazz singers she follows had sad lives . She is sticking ,so for to singing to make people happy. Angelina was approached by agt previously but the agt contract was to controlling and so was refused . some time later agt returned and a contract was accepted on the terms agreeable to Angelina which if she won she would be in control of her own destiny not agt / simon Cowell . this contract was unique to angelina .all other artists as usual had to sign the usual controlling contract . on agt champions format there was no public vote only 50 so called superfans 1 from each state , no-one ever knew their identity .she imo is far removed from celine dion , angelinas style is influenced by jazz from a young age she was inspired by the jazz greats .her latest ep is described by many as pop jazz , " old enough " her ep of 6 co written original songs .

Heidi Klum gave her the golden buzzer for this performance and invited her to Heidi top model in Germany there is a KZread video of that performance where she sang 2 songs wild bill

AGT Champions has a weird voting format where they select 50 Superfans, one per State, and those 50 Superfans voted on the final winners. Oddly in many years they will often seem to vote for acrobat acts, magicians, ventriloquists etc over singers as the final winners.

Maybe she did not win AGT because they were pressured to NOT have a singer win, but I am not sure!

When she was much younger than she is, she went somewhere with her family and saw a little girl who had no shoes. She let him stop and gave the little girl her shoes. Since then, she has been singing barefoot to support children who are not as lucky as her. She founded a foundation to support these children.❤👍🌹

Isn't it amazing that with every new generation the greatest front man in the world in Freddy Mercury - Queen is solidified with these amazing reconstructions from brilliant young singers . 33yrs we lost Freddy but his presence will continue on for generations to come .

There were three total but one was a colab with another contestant. She got the golden buzzer from Heidi so she went straight to the finals. She did have a great rendition of Yellow Brick Road. At the end of that song you could see Simon looking around to the crowd with a look of "You motherfuckers better be standing after this" but everyone already was. She lost to Marcelito Pomoy who is amazing in his own right and is one of the hottest singers in Asia As far as her not winning, there are a few conspiracy theories about this but nobody really knows the truth. The one that made the most sense was an agreement from the two parties that she not win. ATG was having ratings issues and she needed to increase her popularity in the states before she made the commitment to move here. She did not need to win as she was already known around the world, she just want really known in the US. This performance changed that

Angelina refused to sign a contract with AGT..

Angelina Jordan is the finest female vocalist to ever live. She is now 18. There has never been another with her combination of talents. She is a gift to us all. Our barefoot Princess of a thousand voices, the Queen of Jazz. She was already very well known before she came to American and performed here. The show had been attempting to get her to perform for a couple of years because they knew she would boost their ratings for the entire season. She and her family would not sign the agreement that, if she should win, she would be contracted to Simon's entertainment company known as Syco. Finally, the show relented and agreed to let her perform without the contract stipulation. She comes from a well-off family and unlike most contestants on this show, money was not a reason to be there but to get her recognized in the US. She could not win however because Syco would then not have a new contracted artist for that entire year. Consequently, Angelina did not win. She is now 18, and signed with Republic Records, she and her family now reside in LA. She is only now being promoted as she is mature enough to handle the stresses of the music business. Furthermore, she is incomparable, as you will find. Many try to compare her to others, but after a while, they just stop comparing! You will never forget the day you heard her for the first time. There is much for you to learn about Angelina and we, "Angels," as she calls us fans, will educate you here in the comments. You have no idea just what this young lady represents to worldwide music artistry. By the way, English is her third language of 4. Bohemian Rhapsody, was written by Freddie Mercury of "Queen." Exposure is the main reason why people enter agt , so receiving the golden buzzer gives potentially less exposure not a great deal imo .
