there is one singer that grips me everytime, Michael Lessard from The Contortionist. His style is unmatched in my opinion, always brings a smile on my face and goosebumps on my whole body. It feels like he speaks to my soul, plus the whole instrumentals just lift me into wholesomeness

Mark feeling it and dancing like Courtney in the music video for "Belcarra"= best part of the video I think this is their best song to date and has that concentrated "spiritbox" sound and feel.

Courtney is just amazing and spiritbox is really the next big thing in metal, seriously talented band. I really have to recommend Architects // Hereafter (Live Arte Concert), Sam Carter is an absolute animal.

I love Spiritbox and everything about them, how they compose, phrase and produce their stuff - everything sounds perfect, it's incredible! And I loved your super detailed breakdown every single detail. You're showing so much appreciation for these little things which so many other people aren't even able to hear and that's what I really like! Since I heard the first song of them I just got obsessed, because of all these little details they put in their songs (not only vocally of course). This is what makes them unique and listening to Spiritbox never gets boring. Thank you for this video!

She just has such a classy way of carrying her notes. You can tell she takes alot of vintage styles of singing etc and modernizes it using her own killer style

Spencer Sotello of Periphery is one of my fav vocalists of all time, alongside Courtney LaPlante and Daniel Tompkins :)

I love Courtneys vocals, I'm a fan from IWABO. As for these days, I am really big into Jinjer. For me Tatiana's vocals are both pure Heaven and pure Hell. \m/. I suggest that you react to Jinjer Perennial (live at Wacken 2019). There is one part where, I believe, she switches from growl to her singing voice in the same breath, just a stellar performance.

I appreciate vocalist so much more now because of this channel. I also get more enjoyment knowing what's going into the music Side note. When the screaming kicked in I was pleasantly surprised.

I found out about Spiritbox from your Constance video, and I have become just obsessed with this vocal performance. There are a million things that are just amazing. She's just got sooo many tones that are nearly perfect and she can tap into them seemingly at will from any other one. I can't wait for these folks to release an LP.

Spiritbox is my new favorite band! Thank you so much Mark for introducing this band to me! Keep up the good work !

I really love your enthusaism in this vid, her voice is quite something! One of my favorite vocalists is Arnór Dan Arnarson from Agent Fresco. He has a lot of little flourishes in his vocals that I appreciate and his "oohs" are amazing.

Courtney is awesome. In fact the whole band is. Also that's quite the nice singing voice on you. Very operatic!

I have zero interest in ever attempting vocals, but I really enjoy Kardashev and LOVE Spiritbox. I also think you are so incredibly easy to listen to and super informative. The times where you have to gather yourself because you have so much you want to discuss. You can tell that you have a lot of knowledge and you articulate yourself very well. Love watching these vids.

This is probably the best breakdown I've seen as a vocal layman. I play drums, so I have an understanding of time and song structure, but vocals are like vodoo to me lol. Great vid!

Ive listened to this song so many damn times and I still get goosebumps everywhere. Been a huge fan since they announced Spiritbox and they have been absolutely perfect in their own element. Also agree to check out Tillian in DGD listen to We Own the Night!

When it finally comes out this friday, I would absolutely LOVE it if you did a video on Make them Suffer's new track "Erase Me". Their lead vocalist, Sean, has some of the most gorgeous, expressive screams of any metal or hardcore vocalist I've ever listened to.

Courtney's husband Mike, who is also the guitarist writes and programs all the intrumentals. He's a brilliant composer and guitarist.

As far as intelligence and the ability to express yourself, this guy is sharp.

one of my absolute favorite albums right now is The Nothing by Korn. I listen to it from beginning to end atleast once every day at work. I think was does it for me is that uniqueness Jonathan Davis has ON TOP of the signature sound that Head and Monky have created as well. With that being said, Courtney is one of the first times i've listened to a new band and just closed my eyes and felt the music. you did a great job of explaining with words what was flying through my head when listening to this for the first time.

Hey mark. To answer your question, I usually do my screams with pure fry. Mainly because I feel more comfortable with my breath management while doing fries.

They have a really good live video you should make a video on, The Mara Effect live at Silverside Sound. There's a moment in part 1 where Courtney switches from screamed vocals right into a clean section and it's pretty flawless.

Really glad you caught that slide moment during the "fool who" lyrics. I've been frustrated watching other reactors who pass that moment with seemingly no response...and I'm like, "c'mon, that was such an impressive vocal move!...nothing?"

Probably my favorite vocalist is Landon Tewers. He adds so much flair and little bits of personality to all of his music.

You should check out Courtney's Rule of Nines live one take performance. I'm not a vocal coach, but I nerd out over that video. It's clear that she's done her homework. She makes everything seem so effortless. Absolutely zero strain there, and it's so damn impressive. I thought your analysis was pretty spot on.

My recent most unique vocalist has to be Brian Wille from Currents. Everything he does you can instantly know it's him and Currents, incredible talent

two of my favorite singers of all time are Brandon Boyd (Incubus) and Dallas Green (Alexisonfire, City & Colour), their voices are incredible

Tillian from Dance Gavin Dance Telle Smith from The Word Alive Trenton Woodly from Hands like Houses and Bradley Walden from Emarosa all of these wonderful people are my favourite singers

Another singer which adds nuance in their performance is Tatiana from Jinjer. You could first listen to the studio official version of their song "Perennial" (Spiritbox also has a song by this name released around the same time, happenstance ) and then immediately after that watch the Wacken official live video of the same track. She actually enhances the song to a whole another level while performing live.

have you heard of Ne Obliviscaris? i feel like you would really love what they do; it's an older song but my favorite from them is Devour Me Colossus I: Blackholes, Xenoyr's screams are so deep and cool + Tim is a stellar vocalist
