To be honest, the original video you watched was neither her best nor worst vocals. It seemed like a 2017 vs 1996 comparison which is unfair in its own right as nobody sounds the same over 20 years later! Maybe if they compared vocals from similar years it would be more fair! But I loved your reaction as always you’re knowledge of singing and your musicality shines through as always Nina!! ❤️

Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle....all sound just as good as they used to. Mariah's my favorite singer ever and I'll always consider her the best vocalist of all time. But her vocals now are terrible compared to 1990-1996.

I love how understanding you are of Mariah and her voice! This was more of a Then and Now video than Best and Worst haha! I feel Mariah is incredibly generous to be singing so much of her old catalogue even today for her fans! Almost every vocalist would have to skip these songs when older because of their level of difficulty, to begin with when countered with aging! I think people don't realize how bad her nodules are and how they can affect her voice almost everyday! And because of excessive critique in her recent years, she has gotten more conscious and nervous to perform live which just make the nodules worse. You should definitely watch Mariah's Best Live Vocals of the 2010s!!!

I’d love for Mariah to sing with booming confidence every single time but I would be self-conscious if I were in her position. With that level of fame comes so much scrutiny, not to mention that Mariah is also specifically known for insane vocals and even outside of the fandom, there are many people that consider Mariah in her prime to be one of the greatest vocalists in the music industry ever. Imagine having that much pressure on you… but fortunately, Mariah’s love for music and for her fans will likely have her performing for as long as she can regardless of whatever life throws at her.

In this video, those "worst" vocals moments are not terrible as I thought it would be. That Always Be My Baby Live in 2017 is amazing. ❤️

Not only Nina is a very knowledgeable musician but she's a very kind person as well. I love how mature her approach is towards the videos.

They could have chosen way worse clips of Mariah. The last decade has been rather spotty for her but I think it’s largely loss of confidence. She can turn it on when she’s relaxed and at ease but so many hiccups on stage can shake a performers confidence.

These videos always give me lambxiety lol. Her voice is so unique & fragile. You're so sweet & give Mariah ger respect. No one is perfect 24/7 so it's okay. Did you react to Mariah's "We Belong Together" valentines special?

She’s one the greatest singers-songwriter-prouder of all time. 30 plus years into her career and she’s still continuously delivering masterpieces and breaking records. I mean #19 number one hits more than any solo artist in music history, artist of the millennium (1990-1999), artist of the decade 00s with her iconic hit “We Belong Together”, one the best selling female artists off all time over 200M copies sold worldwide, i think people seem to forget that she was the first ever artist in history to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, first female POP/R&B singer to collab with an rapper. With her “Fantasy” remix ft the legendary ODB (RIP) which makes her the pioneer for all the collabs we have today. A vocalist who inspired a whole generation of singers. I mean even the Legendary Stevie Wonder. Who said “When people talk about the great influential singers, they talk about Aretha, Whitney and Mariah”. She’s Written or co-written almost every song that has ever appeared on her albums which is just mind blowing. She made the whistle register seem above expectations. Her voice is just an instrument. Her entire discography is on a whole another level of talent. The list goes on and on but my point is she doesn’t need to prove absolutely anything. THEE one and only Songbird Supreme. She’s stamped her mark in music history forever. Greatful for her existence and her music. Lately Mariah has had a lot of rest with her voice. And she sounds amazing. All her recent home performances show that. I’m looking so forward for her Christmas special again! ( Mariah season) There will never be another Mariah Carey 👑🦋🎙❤️

Love your positivity, it’s important to note also I’m 2017 she wasn’t the best mentally speaking she did look like she’d given up a little the media were tearing her apart so I don’t think she was looking after herself around that time. Thankfully she’s doing better now

2017 wasn’t Mariah’s best year vocally but they’re were much better clips that could’ve been chosen. Nevertheless Mariah is the greatest vocalist of all time and in 2021 is the best vocalist in the music industry

I do agree, she also writes her own songs according to her incredible vocal abilities, and let's be honest, her songs are extremely difficult to sing. This definitely has an influence on her later appearances, as you said, a voice matures etc, but she is still even today a incredible singer!

Her lows are something cool to listen, but the other parts no. It's my opinion, if u like her tone and voice you're welcome to listen to her all day, but don't say she is the same, because we all know she isn't.

what... that Hero wasn't so bad, to call them worst vocals is wrong. Plus I don't like how all "best vocals" are from the 90s, she's given great vocal performances in 00s and 10s too, this video is more like "90s vs 2016-17"
