The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique, is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist! Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

He started training when he was 7 up to 16 years old so getting on that level isn't just for his existing talent but the hardwork and the dedication he put into it and this is the result. Actually, he began training at 5, with his grandmother walking him to the music academy every day. After that school, he continued studying and training until his formal education (at the university level) ended with his graduation just this past summer. And even since then, he trains for several hours every day. You know, the vocal cords are muscle, and must be exercised to maintain elasticity, and expand on his ability. During the time that he was preparing for Ogni Pietra, for which he needed to extend his lower register, he actually extended his range, from just under 6 octaves, to one note OVER 6 octaves.

I have to say, as a lifelong musician, there are those rare times where an artist moves us deeply and emotionally. This guy is unreal. His range is almost inhuman. I give a small link of him in aeroport and maybe you get my point. It is also disturbing to me, he is getting bigger and still wants to travel with very little security and walk with his fans, changing terminals etc. Sadly it might not be safe and recommendable any more as he is more known.

What I find so impressive - and almost humbling - is the degree of faith and commitment his parents and close family had in little Dimash when they had realized his gift early on and dedicated themselves to leading this amazing human being through decades of training, never wavering in their support, never doubting his ability to eventually blossom into this phenomenal artist and performer. That, just as much as what he can do now as a result of all this hard work and dedication, is what cannot help but restore one's faith in the greatness of the human potential. Hugely inspiring..!!!

I just listened to your first review of him, and am listening to it again, IMMEDIATELY, both because you highlight things I have missed, and also, because I love seeing how a vocal expert like you, can't even contain yourself. You have easily become my favorite reactor to Dimash, with Sam Johnson being a close second. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep reacting to his incredible performances. Normally, I would request reactors to listen to the Gloria Wu translations that she does for his perofrmances, but your amazing analysis kills me asking for that. The only performance I would want you to watch Gloria Wu's videos of his performances, would be the daybreak singing from the original singer's competition version of it. This will make you appreciate him even more.
