Vocal Coach Reacts (1st time) ANGELINA JORDAN - Bohemian Rhapsody | Analysis, Explanation & Demo

Hello Singderellos
In this video I react to Angelina Jordan singing Bohemian Rhapsody. I analyse in obsessive detail the first singer to finally shut me up while watching hehe. In this video, I am watching this performance for the very first time and I analyse her performance and vocal technique.

When a professional (like yourself) witnesses someone else perform their craft and it moves them to emotional tears, that's passion. Your passion for singing and teaching is undeniably addictive to witness. You give off some aura about your vibe that's incredibly captivating and genuine. This is the best reaction I've ever seen. Your explanation of why you sing barefoot makes total sense. For Angelina, it's very beautiful as to why she sings barefoot. This is her quote "I do it to give back to all the kids who don’t have shoes, who don’t have parents. It’s not just about being barefoot, it’s about giving back." That statement made me cry. The first time I saw Angelina Jordan sing this tune I cried in exactly the same spot. It is the perfect audition. The perfect song for the audition. And the perfect singer for the audition. I think it’s one of the most spiritual performances as well because it was heavier than my ability to feel it and deeper than my ability to understand what it was I was hearing but still it’s impact on me was profound. I have seen her sing this tune at least 50 times already and I wish I could loop it and listen to her all day long. Her voice is a tonic for the weary soul.

All singers when they behold the grandeur of the stage and admiration of all the fans to their performance ……long for it…. that appreciation, admiration, and glorious fame. Something that they believe a great voice, talent, and performance deserves! That’s why they can’t hold back that tear or those tears. They see it now and then and can’t help themselves wishing it were they themselves up their performing that magical moment when the world respects and admires all that hard work that went into creating that magical moment. It deserves it with ovations and flowers and awe. Don’t we all wish we could create that kind of perfection. Of course.

I have always said, since the first time I listened to her, she is a totally unique gift. She doesn't copy an artist, but completely transforms a cover into her own.. That is to me what makes her so special. I realize that her vocals are stunning, but the ability to create these arrangements at this young age really, to me, sets her apart from any other child singers. She is a musician who's instrument is her voice, not a singer... mind blowing... FYI "Queen" gave this their stamp of approval, they also where blown away.

After a standing ovation from everybody, the first judge said she was fantastic and then trying to find more words finally admitted he was at a loss for words. When I saw the first tears trickle down your cheek, my first thought was Okay, she gets it---a kindred spirit. Because almost everyone who will comment here "feels" the same way. We are all addicted to the way this young girl makes us Feel the song she is performing. And I mean like no one else does. She is truly an Enigma. Angelina didn't just wake up one day and deliver a performance like this. She's been preparing and training for this day for over 10 years. As a very young child she had already embraced what she considered her destiny to be; to perform her music for the entire world. Angelina has over 130 performances in her library of song, and you can't go wrong no matter what you react to next. But if you would like to see how she has progressed from this performance at 13, to today at 15, here's her latest cover: kzread.info/dash/bejne/apt-19Krk86oqKw.html This is a studio production (she is signed with Republic Records) of "All I Ask", a wonderful song of unrequited love, co-written (with Bruno Mars, et. al.) and originally released by Adele. It is my favorite Angelina performance (probably because is the last one posted), and you should have tissues handy. I truly loved you entire reaction, from the technical points to the emotional response. I'm now a subscriber, and I look forward to more of your reactions to the Fabulous Angelina. 💕💕

Yes Angelina Jordan's voice is remarkable as is Yours, However in this case I'm not speaking of the song at all or of the singer. I am actually commenting on the remarkable human being that YOU are! Your tears and humanity and absolute love of music and its ability to bridge and rebuild hope, is wondrous and beautiful to behold. Please never change! Your analysis was great. Thank you. As a long time Angelina fan, what I loved was actually what I’ve seen many times before from even vocal coaches like yourself: at some point, technical analysis becomes irrelevant and you just react physically and emotionally to what Angelina can do. All you can do is watch and listen. Oh yeah, crying happens a lot, too. Since this is your first encounter with Angelina, you don’t realize she is one of the world’s best singers. In my opinion, she is the best I’ve ever heard, and I became very interested in music in the 50’s and 60’s. Her command of so many different genres is incredible, with her jazz and blues work being my favorite. I’d try to tell you how good she is, but that doesn’t work. You just have to watch a few more and be blown away by her talent-at 7 years old, her cover of Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday introduced her to the world. You can start there and move on to the 100+ videos on KZread. Her talent and the wide swath of styles she kills (like this Queen classic) is something you’ve never heard before.

Even in just the last 2 years since she did this performance she has already improved quite a bit. You can definitely hear it in some of her newer original songs. If I were to recommend one it would be "Million Miles" Phenomenal song and crazy ability showed in it as well. also even if you just go back from her first audition when she was 7 and go year by year, you can clearly hear every year she gets better. Clear sign of great talent and hardwork with her!

Wonderful reaction. It's so refreshing to see a reaction that is both very nerdy and very heartfelt. You should know that you have only heard about 10% of her vocal ability in this one song. She has colors and textures that just keep surprising. Her range, while not spectacular, is pretty good, and is entirely accessible to her. She just seems to know what each song needs to be fully realized, while never over doing anything. She belts when it works best for the story telling, not just to show off. she has performed in many genres, such as soul, jazz, pop, blues, disco, edm, classical, gospel and country. A couple suggestions would be "Cheek to Cheek," "I'd Rather Go Blind," "Song For A" (written for her) and her rehearsal video of "Fly Me to The Moon" sung at Quincy Jones 85th birthday concert.

Awesome reaction to a vocal tour-de-force! You've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (125+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday , Nancy Sinatra , and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Etta James to Amy Winehouse (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song(as you experienced here). When she fires the emotional bullets, there is no defense. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40 piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Wait until you find out why she performs barefooted! Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! Please react to more of her impressive library.

Yeah it's great. Also a great example of how children should NOT sing, trying to sound like a mature voice by heavily modifying their voice. Fortunately it was just a one-off thing and not how she generally trained or it might have ruined her voice by establishing some really bad practices

So good to hear somebody reaction with so richly both from her heart and head. Aside from her vocal genius, she arranged it too--reinvented this iconic song. Wait till you hear some other things from her. Do listen to her astounding early pieces, her 8 year old Gloomy Sunday, Summertime, etc. And of course the Black and White video of her 9 year old take on I Put a Spell on You, would give any vocal coach loads to talk about. Her later covers are outstanding: Adele's When We Were Young, Rihanna's Stay, Lana Del Rey's Born to Die, so many others. And now signed to Republic at 15, she has put out a couple of original pieces of real quality, and incredibly different: Million Miles and 7th Heaven. When she was six, she met a poor street vendor in Iran who did not have any shoes. Angelina gave her her beloved green boots and wrote in her diary that when she did that, a door opened in her heart and she climbed a stairway to heaven. (BTW, she probably had that conversation in Farsi.) She then wrote about it and became Norway's youngest published author. And that's not the half of it.

Angelina Jordan is a name you will be hearing a lot in the coming years ...but you probably already figured that out from just this 2.5 minute performance alone. This performance is just one very small sample of the vocal genius Angelina brings to the table. She has been delivering pro level vocals since she was 7 years old, and she is going to give you high level techniques to analyze with every single thing you hear from her. I hope to see you check out lots more of her stuff! And as always for anyone new to Angelina, here is a little bio so that you can learn a little more about her background and her kind and caring soul....... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 15 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written four of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", and "Million Miles" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music. - Updates: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist". On Nov 6 she released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"! On March 19 2021 Angelina released her latest single "7th Heaven" She has done so much already, but at 15 she is just getting started!!!
