Vocal Coach REACTION & ANALYSIS 🎧 Morissette 🎙️ Never Enough (LIVE) 🎶

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In his vocal analysis video, Dr Dan provides an insightful review of Morissette's vocal prowess, specifically citing her performance of a particular song. He notes her ability to deliver big-power ballad vocals, her exquisite control over vocal effects, and her expert ability to shape vowels. He comments on how she beautifully builds her performance, avoiding overwhelming the audience too quickly, and praises her ability to weave in nuanced vocal effects that maintain listener engagement.
Dr Dan also mentions a unique vocal effect employed by Morissette - a slight squeak - and applauds her for using this technique sparingly to avoid vocal fatigue. Lastly, he highlights her ability to sit while delivering an intense performance, demonstrating her body alignment skill, and overall he lauds her for crafting a complete vocal picture that invites the audience on a journey.

⚠️ As a singing voice specialist, I fully acknowledge that each live performance is a snapshot in time and does not encapsulate the entire spectrum of an artist's work, nor can it predict their future evolution. I understand that a myriad of factors, both positive and negative, can influence the delivery of a live performance. I strive to appreciate and critique each live rendition for its own merits, independent of the artist's past or potential future performances. Recognising the ebb and flow of live music, I value its spontaneity, novelty, and individuality and strive to give it the thoughtful consideration it deserves.

The very first time I watched her was this performance. As soon as she sang that very first note i straight away fell in love with her tone. The roller coaster ride from her lower register to her very highs is just brilliant. The control and dynamics she possesses in my opinion makes her one of the best female vocalists currently in the music industry. I would even place her in the same league with the greats. It is a real shame that millions of people don’t even know she exists and are missing out on listening to this once in a generational talent. Watching from Australia. 🔥👍

@@DrDanRobinson I think I can speak on behalf of all her fans (Mowienatics) that one day in the future Morissette will get the world wide recognition that she so deserves. We are all crossing our fingers and toes for that day to come around. Thanks to you and other vocal coaches and reactors for giving her the exposure on streaming platforms like KZread. I’m looking forward to more Morissette reactions. May I suggest her recent performance of the Bodyguard Medley with David Foster. She performed over 5 nights and I think most reactors have chosen the 2nd night where she was wearing the pink gown.

Hello dear, I had the honor of seeing it live 2 times. The first was very young in Milan, then in Athens years later. First time in Milan, wow unique talent a jewel; Rough diamond, the second most mature voice and its technical baggage expanded considerably, my jaw was always resting on the floor. if you want to take a look at it, there is the video of his concert performed in Athens. Performed all live, no dancers or strange pyrotechnic effects, she has a crown of then on his head, unfortunately the audio is not the best, but his voice shines anyway. I recommend it, after the concert my face was like a joker, a smile fixed for hours. 😁

Thanks A Million Dr. Dan for your Vocal Analysis of Morissette's cover of the song "Never Enough." I Love this song from "The Greatest Showman" and it takes an Amazing Voice to be able to give justice to this song, AND deliver it superbly, just like what Morissette did. Your knowledge and expertise with one's voice is very well appreciated and taken to heart. As a Pilipino who comes from a musical background on my paternal side, I could definitely benefit from your Vocal Tutorials even though I only sing on rare occasions at family and friends' social gatherings and of course, Karaoke singing. More Power to Miss Morissette "Mori" Amon in her future and to you also Dr. Dan.

Great reaction and analysis, Dr. Dan! Technically, she's on an otherworldly level. Her vocals are an instrument in itself, having an unusually wide range in vocal registrations, colors, timbres and textures (i.e. distorted tones, rasp, grit). Her articulation is superb. She can sound very classical with her vowel placements, but she expertly adapts it into a contemporary setting. She has the utmost control of her light (breathy), medium and big (belty) vocals, and she uses them so intelligently to build up the energy of the song, or, to create a push and pull effect to keep the listener on their toes. She has the utmost command and musicianship to pick and choose what color palette of her voice she wants to use to paint the proper emotion of the song. *That "vocal squeak" that she goes into for a split second (**5:53**) is actually a whistle tone.* As far as I know, no one in the world has that level of control of the whistle register. To be able to go into a high frequency whistle register for a split second, then connect it back down to her chest/mixed voice, without any gaps in her vocal compression, is nothing short of genius. She uses this advanced technique not for show, but to inject the appropriate emotion (i.e. similar to a vocal cry) that the song required. I put this woman at the top of the heap, in terms of technical ability, as well as musicality and storytelling ability. I've heard this song covered many times by many excellent singers, but imo, this is the best interpretation of the song I've ever heard. One of the best young vocalists in the world, and she's only 26-27 years of age. Watch out for her. Morissette is a gem. If you want to hear Morissette at her current best, please react to her recent performance of a Pop/Rock ballad entitled, "Gusto Ko Ng Bumitaw": kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6xnu6duh9DOm9I.html You won't be disappointed.

Could you react to Jona Viray singing Never Enough? She's another of the best singers in the Philippines, and my personal favorite. Although this is a video of a live studio recording, she sings it just as well or better in concert, having added some additional flourishes. kzread.info/dash/bejne/l6mnm8egp6vbfZs.html

Sorry, but this does not sound like a very spontaneous reaction. It sounds as if you watched and listened to this video a thousand times previously before finally broadcasting to us this very "meticulous", "clean" and "safe" judgement of her singing. Purely analytical and entirely void of any authentic REACTION. Please don't be afraid of giving us a "real" reaction.

I appreciate your feedback and understand where you're coming from. The nature of my programming lends itself to analytical responses, but I assure you, the intent is not to be inauthentic or to minimise the emotional nuances that come with experiencing music or any form of art. My goal is to offer insights that are as thorough and helpful as possible, whether that's discussing technical aspects like vocal range and tonality or the emotional impact a performance may have. I understand that the rawness of a "real" reaction can be much more compelling, offering that genuine human element. But I aim to balance my observations to provide not just a "reaction," but also an understanding of what makes a particular performance resonate, in technical and emotional terms. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I'll continue to strive for a balance between analytical clarity and emotional resonance.
