Oyus is also a great vocalist from GG Vibes. How underrated only 3 people in the entire universe reacted on him.

Her tone is the main reason she is my favorite artist today. Her golden tone is simply gold. If you are old, please listen to her version of "Yesterday When I Was Young" and have a little cry for old time's sake.

Yesterday when i was young & Moon River would show her versatility and the band.

Gigi is just breathtaking in every way.. The band is absolutely amazing... obviously have played together for a long while. Beautiful!

My personal favorite on Gigi's cover is "Officially Missing You" and that smile of Gigi at the end is a big bonus by the way.

She is magnificent and has a very relaxing and pleasing tone and color of voice, good taste in music

I'm not a vocalist even though I grew up wanting to be.. never had the technique and even if I would have I've never liked my overall voice but I've always loved amazing vocalists and guitarists.. The thing I would say I enjoy the most about Gigi isn't WHAT she can do because she definitely has songs out there where she shows she can do vocal acrobatics with the best of them(check out Butterfly if you want a great example of that) the thing that impresses me the most about Gigi is the ease of which she does it... watching her I never see any strain or like she's having to force anything.. it feels like she has a total understanding of her voice and knows EXACTLY how to do what she needs to do with it at all times. She slides through registers and from Chest to Mix to Head and back again like it's as natural as just normal talking.. her runs are always pitch perfect as well.. like if she has 3 notes specifically that need to be hit you'll hear a lot of vocalists hit them but there might be some play in there where they correct.. she just.. Nails them.. and then next thing you know she's sitting there smiling at you while your mouth is agape and she's looking like she didn't just do something crazy with her voice that would trouble 80% of the vocalists out there..

In "Saving All My Love For You" she is catching a flying insect and adjusting the microphone like it's routine. The video is one of her most popular with over 15 million views.

Finally u discovered Gigi! Not only is she a great vocalist, shes also an actress. By that, i mean she can morph into different personalites when she covers different genres. This video & most of what is in their channel are from 2-3 hours livestreams they used to do during the pandemic. Viewers requested songs, so this is a jam, an amazing jam. The lockdowns were extreme in the Philippines, everything was closed down. They were very broke (they used to play for weddings & parties & there were no gigs). Yes the band members are very talented, play multiple instruments. Wait until u hear the guitarist Oyus sing (One Last Cry, Brian McKnight). Here are my requests: ALL I ASK (Adele), BETER DAYS, FLY ME TO THE MOON, OFFICIALLY MISSING YOU (Tamia), DECODE (Paramore). They did a jazz version of GIVE LOVE ON CHRISTMAS DAY, but unfortunately the video disappeared, not sure why. Its the best cover of that song ive ever heard.

I posted this comment on another vocal coaches video reaction of another Filipina singer over 2 years ago (Christi Bovee's channel) and this was what I said when she was starting to blow up: "You probably would want to give a serious consideration to react to an upcoming rising Filipina vocalist who is putting on notice all the top vocalists in the Philippines this year with her arrival on the scene. Her name is GIGI DE LANA. Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon on KZread by reacting to her epic cover of Chaka Khan's "Through the Fire". I can use many adjective praises to describe that performance but they all can be summed up in one word "classy". Her delivery, her choices, her range, her dynamics, her body language, her tone and feel are simply magical. David Foster (songwriter and producer of Chaka's "Through the Fire") probably would have his jaw dropped if he watched this performance. Best 5 minutes KZread time you'll probably ever spent.....I kid you not".

And yeah they sing during worship. Although, they are not full time worship band. But they do perform from time to time in worship services.

I also fell in love with Gigi de Lana’s voice and the the Gigi Vibes band. I would sincerely recommend it very much that you listen to her covers of ALL I ASK by Adele and WHEN I LOOK AT YOU by Miley Cyrus. She sings these two beautiful love songs with so much passion and emotions.

Check on Clarisse de Guzman as well, she was also a very good but underrated singer in the Philippines

Oh man, welcome to Gigi's world. She's such a chameleon and can do pretty much anything. Yes, they do covers but they do it in a way that it's uniquely Gigi and the Gigi Vibes. They are so tight because they do these livestreams for hours and several times a week. Now they're doing lots of gigs. Now, if Chaka Khan ever hears this performance, I'm sure she would be so happy that Gigi did it justice. Man! She was all up in Chaka Khan's ministry with that "pointed, laser focused" high register. She's just so awesome! And sitting down at that! Final thing, we Filipinos are keeping the classics alive because there's no music like the 70s, 80s, 90s and even the 2000s. @@DrDanRobinson Thank you Dr Dan for your comprehensive explanation. I’m probably more interested in discussing further with regards to the information you have provided in point number 3. I have watched many artist both famous and not so famous (but still very popular with many followers) on KZread. I was also fortunate to have watched some big name artists live in concerts here in Australia back in the 80s and 90s. I would have to say anyone that have had the opportunity to watch and listen to Barbra Streisand LIVE on stage would probably consider themselves very lucky and that’s saying a lot because Whitney was on that list of artists I watched live. You see Dr Dan I grew up listening to what I like to call the golden era of music … 70s 80s and 90s when music was so beautiful and the lyrics had meaning and the singers can really sing! Personally I don’t listen to the radio anymore. The modern day music imo has no soul. So that’s pretty much a quick summary of my taste in music. So getting back to my interest in your point number 3 and this may undoubtedly will offend a lot of people with my comment but I’m interested in your take on the use of engineering enhancements, auto tune, pitch correction technology in today’s modern music while performing in live streams or in live concerts. You see the use of auto tune is why I don’t really follow any modern day singers anymore with the exception of a few. Majority of modern day singers cannot replicate the same amazing sound on stage as they do in their studios or live stream shows. You put the great singers back during the golden era of music on a stage with a microphone when there was no auto tune technology and you know they are going to replicate the same and sometimes even better sound than their records. As an exercise when you do a reaction on an artist you should compare studio live stream performances to their live concert performances of the same song and compare like for like. I guarantee you some artist don’t even have live stage performances to compare. So what I’m asking you Dr Dan is how do you know the performances you are watching is the real sound?

I know about 10 really good reactors and include Dan in this group who I just discovered today. But, yeah, there's lots of waste-of-time reactors who either don't know music at all, or are supposed vocal coaches who just gush and never offer any kind of breakdown.

This older video live stream of Gigivibes was during the height the pandemic where they started making it big. The guitarist here was L.A. then Julius took over after some 2 or 3 yrs back. These livestreams of the band done during Wednesdays and Saturdays during the pandemic lockdowns served as our stress reliever. Gigi indeed made us happier during those days.❤

Another voice you should check out for analysis is Faouzia. Her tone, range and agility are amazing. She started out on Tik Tok but is starting to come through now. Her most popular song is Tears of Gold, but also You Don't Even Know Me. Her stripped versions are by far the best. And she's also done a duet with John Legend - Minefields. Doesn't get enough recognition for her talent. She also writes most of her own songs. And still just 23.

I agree with you 100%. I got to hear Gigi and her terrific band this past Saturday in Redwood City. What an amazing voice, beautiful tone, and stylistic performance. I came across her recently on KZread, and knew I had to hear her live. What a great show of some amazing performances of great American music and some of her own original songs in Tagalog as well as apparently well known Tagalog songs for the almost 100% Filipino audience. You should hear her do her medley of Shirley Bassey songs. She also talks a lot to the audience. She's very personable, sweet, and sincere. But she's very musical. At the beginning she did a sound check to insure that the piano was coming through into her ears. Apparently she was wearing some headset that was hidden. Her singing leaves nothing to hide. She said that she is now into Shirley Bassey music. And what a job she did with a medley of her songs. Wow! Gigi can almost imitate the tones of great singers, too. But she adds her own twist on the songs as well to make beautiful performances. She took the Police song, "Every Breath You Take" and played it as a slow groove. And then on top of it took an even older Motown song and sort of switched back and forth between the two with apparently similar chords. My dad who was a professional trumpet player, singer, bandleader, used to take "Feelings" and on top of that play "The Shadow of Your Smile" which have similar chords and make beautiful harmonies together. The Gigi concert this past Saturday was a wonderful experience. The back lighting on the stage was terrible though because it blinded you from seeing Gigi on the stage directly. Sometimes they had a back video showing her singing, but I wanted to see her on stage, too. Her musicians are the best, and they're all from the Philippines. They not only play great, but sing great, too. If you have a chance to see Gigi live, who is doing her first American tour now, don't miss her. The Philippines is known to have a lot of musically talented people. When they do Miss Saigon, many of the performers are from the Philippines. Of course, Lea Salonga, one of the greatest Broadway stars, had one of the most beautiful voices. Check out her audition for Miss Saigon. The composer is accompanying on the piano. When he hears her sing, he and his staff just light up like they saw gold for the very first time. It's like hearing Judy Garland sing "Over the Rainbow". Gig has that kind of voice. But with all the strain she puts on it, let's hope she doesn't hurt her voice. We want to keep hearing her sing for a long time. When I first heard Taylor Swift sing when she was around 17, she's another who had an exceptional voice tone. I knew right away she was going to be big and she was doing purely country. I think Gigi will be a very big star! Right now, she's just attracting a Filipino audience. But that will change.

I heard GiGi sing for the first time today. I do not know one flat key from another or anything about tonal qualities but I know what I like. The best way to explain myself is I remember hearing Whitney Houston for the first time and this young woman gives me the same vibe.
