Love your analysis. Marcelito Pomoy is a treasure of the Philippines that needs to be shared with the world. He's truly unbelievable and unreal. He's incredible. He won the Philippines Got Talent 2011. He lived in the streets since he was 7 years old, orphan. What is more amazing is that he never had formal vocal training and lessons at all, he's self-taught. Yeah, he is so humble and kind-hearted. He is truly a beautiful person in and out. Born in poverty and risen to stardom but remains humble and true to his Christian faith and family. He's a funny guy as well, he's a natural comedian. The thing he does at the end he said, he's expelling the female voice out in his body. He is loved worldwide. i completely agree with what Chit wrote, except for one important point : if someone watches AGT or any similar show with Simon or Rude Paul, he should be aware that the songs in these shows are heavily shortened, cut, edited and the judges are no neutral judges (as is expected by most people worldwide, for judges in any singing/talent/beauty or other contest or at court) and they often have their own interests in the outcome, what would lead to their disqualification because of "conflict of interests". what can you expect from them when one of them is executive producer, the producers select the songs, and then that executive producer comments that he is "surprised" by Marcelitos "bad choice" of song? or when they edit, cut and reorder all scenes and partially script them in those shows to make the shows and the backstory more "family friendly" and more interesting for the viewers and hide what really happens (as witnessed in other videos by people who watched it on location), eg that Marcelito didn't perform first and Simon "stole" the golden buzzer for his favorites, but in the broadcast they showed his performance first and inserted a comment in postproduction, telling that it would have been "too early" to give the buzzer to the first singer. among those edits and cuts was even a scene from the finals that was cut (or rather copied) and inserted into the semifinals which was possible since those shows were prerecorded (and the winner chosen) months in advance although viewers of the broadcast months later were called to wish him luck for his next performance. because of all this, and also lies they told Dimash before such a similar show (which made him leave the contest when he found out, and then they! accused him! of being unprofessional and ungrateful; btw: again, as witnessed in other videos by people who watched it on location) i try to avoid watching any of the performances on AGT, world champions and similar american shows, and prefer the wishbus and other similar performances by far, _if possible._ too bad that some songs (probably including "Con te partiro" and "Beauty and the Beast") might not be available in other better and unmanipulated versions. _a suggestion for another reaction video:_ after having watched Marcelito as well as Morissette's "Akin Ka Na Lang" (several songs of both singers on the wishbus), watch and react also to their live duet (not sure about that tile, "Secret Love Song"?) on the "Wishbus Awards"

Your reaction was priceless! It's my understanding that Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song by listening to a recording by Celine Dion Andrea Bocelli. His performance is gorgeous considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it. He speaks Philipino broken english, but his singing was self taught. He is singing now in English, Italian, Spanish and Chinese but not speaking those languages. Possibility even more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7 or 8, and now is married and a father! His ambition serves him well in whatever he does!

Wonderful reaction and constructive criticism! Marcelito has been a source of inspiration for me to develop a soprano voice and baritone/tenor voice of my own. I am close to making a test recording to see if I should continue along this line. I can change almost as fast as Marcelito. I am learning to sing just because I fell in love with singing and then I heard Marcelito and wow! I don't want to compete with Marcelito, I would love to sing well enough to people in retirement homes or anyone willing to hear my voice. Thank you for your KZread channel.

Power of love

To think he just finished grade 3 in elementary school due to poverty and never had any formal vocal trainings at all since he literally grew up on the streets since his parents got separated and his father got in jailed. His an orphaned at the age of 7yrs old and his parents got other family as well. He just joined PGT to reunite his family again but not expecting that he will nailed it to the Champion. He was declared winner of season 2 Philippines got talent in 2011.

it is even more surprising and even more impressive if one considers that at that time he had no professional training, didn't speak any italian, and even his english wasn't perfect, and yet he did both of them perfectly, Andrea Bocelli (male singer, in italian) and Celine Dion (female singer, in english), by _"only"_ copying their original version.

Your impressions of the man apart from his undoubted musical ability is much appreciated. I too feel that he is a genuine caring person. I hope and pray that he can retain his wonderful connection with his humanity. So many people change when recognition grows and become "other" as if they have become entitled to special treatment from "lesser" persons. I just hope that somewhere inside they still remember that fame and fortune is fickle. Stuff happens in this life and we can lose our gifts . I think Marcelito is armored against that failing.

Yes it’s unusual to be able to change from counter tenor to baritone so effortlessly. I heard that to do that as well as he did is very difficult even for a professional singer. Thanks for your video.
