I am pretty sure this was the first cover to make it to KZread. Obviously Kat LOVES the song and maybe even the moment in the movie. It is BEAUTIFUL, so I am really torn between this one and Mori's version. Both of the ladies also have live-on-stage versions of this, obviously. They are both so AMAZING! I really don't think I can pick a favorite!

Pffffft .... breath control eh. As big as this song is, as big as Katrina makes this song to be, the song itself is actually quite limiting for Katrina. Quite the statement eh, I know. But you'll see what I mean if you do an analysis of Katrina's performance of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", Patti Labelle cover. Of course its live on stage recorded off a fan cam, but it's there.

one hundred percent agree; katrina does it effortlessly, which adds a whole new dimension to the song for me, especially in comparison to the very choppy, deep & disarticulating breaths taken by most singers when performing those "never enough, never, neverrr!" belting sections. katrina's transitions into the verse are the cleanest & most seamless i've ever heard as well...she totally owns this tune.

Katrina's style is like that of Whitney's --good phrasing and singing the last word of each lne very clear. This version is better than the others as she did not stick to orignal rendition to give it a raw new version and attack which is good and surprising to listeners.

If you want higher version just watch and react for her live concert never enough.....

My thoughts are this. Katrina Velarde singing the "Reflection" cover has a low voice starting point. However, in most songs (like Morissette Amon, elanie duran), she intentionally raises the starting point of her voice. Raising the starting point reduces the sound space and makes it difficult to make a sound (strong, high). The problem is that each song starts to come and go. She is obsessed with the high she can't make. So the balance between high and low is broken. The most peculiar thing about katrina velarde is that there is no "resonance" even though the microphone has an echo-
