VNM have been working on this for a while, and while they put the finishing touches on their debut retail direct drive system, I'll take you through the prototype VNM Direct Drive Wheelbase!
Meanwhile, production samples of the VNM GT Steering Wheel and VNM Sequential Shifter are also in the studio so we're looking at those too!
A couple of things I forgot to mention in the video:
The VNM GT steering wheel does not have an LED rev strip, while both the Fanatec and Simagic units compared do
Wheel widths:
Fanatec Formula V2 - 27cm
Simagic FX - 29cm
VNM GT - 30cm
Bring on 2024.

VNM are doing amazing things for the Asian/Oceanic scene. Not only are their products accessible for us, but their products are top notch and well worth anything in comparison in price in our regions. Big fan with my VNM Pedals and excited to expand to their shifters and wheels. Thankyou for the amazing reviews as always Doc.

Thank you! RaceKraft recently finished setting up the VNM DD onto one of their rigs so I should organise for some seat time with it. Truth be told, the Simagic lineup is so well filled out and time-proven it's very easy to recommend them. VNM is very new here, no roadmap has been announced for new steering wheels etc - but they are a passionate group of racers who really listen to their customers so I'm confident they will grow and support it well.

Honestly, I agree about the 32Nm. That's so much torque. For up to 320mm wheels I think 10Nm is plenty. A big 350mm drift wheel benefits from a bit more torque, maybe 20. But 32 is a big number and it gets attention - I hope the software is good enough to back up the numbers with feel and drivability. We will all find out soon!
