VN24 - Dump truck hits the end of a traffic jam on the freeway at Kamen interchange (A1/A2)

VN24 - 02-05-2024 (D/M/Y) - Kamen / Germany - Shortly after 7:00 in the morning, an accident involving two trucks occurred on the A1 Freeway southbound in the middle of the Kamen interchange. A dump truck Semitrailer had collided with the truck in front of it at the end of a traffic jam. The driver was trapped on his driver's seat and rescued by the fire department. He was then taken to hospital. The wreckage and clearing of the accident site was carried out by the towing company Kollmer.

Die Arbeitskultur ist großartig.

Good ol Kollmers they always do a damn good job no shouting like in the American recoverys everyone know there job and get on with it until the very end when they remove whatever there recovering sweep up the mess and bin it and tack the rubbish with them, im a retired European truck driver we have all had a little bump or two but what i see going on in Germany on there roads is shear stupidity and not watching the road ahead i have driven this stretch of autobahn many time's and never had to stand on the breaks it come's down to driver's not watching the road ahead and anticipate what could go wrong because if you don't we know where we can end up if we are lucky we will live to drive another day to pay the fines or leave your family with one less member in it, for God's sake watch the road ahead and keep your distance so you can stop before you have a accident AND STAY OFF THE PHONE, thank you VN24 for another great video.

We separated the units because the driver's cab was torn off due to an accident and was to close to the trailer.

That's a fairly new truck. Don't they have distance assistance ? Should make it compulsory for commercial vehicles.

It is in the European Union. However, drivers can disable it and that causes many collisions.
In Europe they sweep up the debris that can damage tires etc.. In North America they don’t sweep up, they leave the debris so it can damage tires thus creating jobs. Different outlooks indeed.

Or they push it to the shoulder of the road rather than pick it up. There's a lot of stuff that can't damage tires and vehicles there.

dit begrijpt ik niet sorry hoor maar een goede vrachtwagenchauffeur is goud waard maar tegenwoordig zie ik alleen maar aanrijding geen afstand houden bezig met andere dingen dan op de weg te letten als je kunt rijden dan maar de sleutel in het kastje terug hangen en op nieuwe rijles nemen ik hebt nog nooit een aanrijding gehad met me gewoon auto en niet met mijn vrachtwagen de schade is groot

Heute Mittag haben mich im Lkw zwei Sattelzüge, beide 90 km/h, auf der Autobahn überholt. Als der erste Lkw an mir vorbei kam fuhr der andere Lkw aus Tschechien mit 2 Meter Abstand dem vorausfahrenden Lkw hinterher. In dem Moment dachte ich mir : Wehe der erste Lkw muss eine Notbremsung machen.😱

@@saferoad9447 Dann passiert dem Nachfahrenden wenig, weil er vom Verausfahrenden gebremst wird. Die Geschwindigkeitsdifferenz ist klein und somit kann sich keine Masse zur Zerstörung bilden! Leider wird Physik durch verworrene Gesetze scheinbar in den Köpfen der Menschen ausgeschaltet.

Hier 2 Möglichkeiten, oder der fahrer wicksen auf dem fahrt oder Kino gekuckt auf Armaturbret passende Fernseher eingebaut, sehr professionell 😂

Я не понимаю... Конечно понимаю с одной стороны, водитель МАN TGX втыкал в телефон и погдядывал краем глаза на дорогу! Боковым зрением он увидел стремительно приближающийся прицеп стоящий в заторе машины, всё что смог сделать водитель MANа это применить экстренное торможение! Но так как установлена система ABS юзом не получится. Оттуда и результат. Повреждение грузвика работодателя, повреждение впереди стоящего прицепа, возможно груза. Я в курсе что есть страховые компании. Но, на месте работодателя, такой дурак должен работать дворником на автобазе и НИКОГДА не получать права по вождению не только грузовика, но и даже мотороллера! Автобусом за свой счёт на работу и тем же автобусом с работы и так до пенсии! Считаю это справедливый урок! Другим наука!
