VN24 - Semitrailer crashes into oncoming traffic on federal highway 54

VN24 - 29-01-2024 (D/M/Y) - Lünen B54 / Germany - At around 1:10 p.m., an Semitrailer truck from Lithuania was driving westbound on the federal highway B54 from Lünen in the direction of Dortmund. Shortly after the Kupferstraße junction, the driver left his lane to the left for unknown reasons and initially collided with a dump truck traveling eastbound in oncoming traffic. The wing mirrors of the tractor units touched slightly and the trailer was grazed a little. The Lithuanian truck then hit the truck of the same company driving behind the first tipper semi-trailer and pushed it down a ditch. The tractor unit of the suspected perpetrator of the accident was heavily damaged and also veered to the left and left the road. The 56-year-old driver was severely trapped, had to be rescued by the fire department and was subsequently taken to hospital by ambulance. The 35-year-old driver of the first tipper semi-trailer and his 27-year-old co-driver were uninjured, while the 28-year-old driver of the second dump semi-trailer suffered minor injuries. The salvage companies Werth and Widliczek took care of the removal of the damaged trucks, while the company Hülsmann then took over the cleaning of the driveway.

    Danke für das wir immer ausführliche Video, liebes VN24-Team. Dank auch an die Bergungsfirmen. Da gab es ja einiges aufzuräumen. Ein kleiner Moment der Unachtsamkeit mit großen Folgen. Gute Besserung dem verketzten Verursacher. Das Führerhaus sind ja wirklich schlimm aus.

    17:14. Props to him! Great to see the professionalism of the recovery workers involved. I appreciate what they do because their job is VERY difficult & they do it at all times & in all weathers. I also appreciate the camera operator for the dedication he has to record & upload the work that they do. You must see some horrific sights.

    some of the 'damage' was done by the fire department in order to get the trapped driver out... also, the dump-part of the dump-trucks are usually made from sturdier material than a truck unit itself, and if the white one hit the dumper on the side then it's fairly logical that the front of the cab will be crushed and the side of the dumper not much damaged...

    Several were, sadly. People must concentrate on driving and stop when exhausted. Many of the incidents involving heavy vehicles were the results of inattention or failing asleep at the wheel.

    das blöde gezerre an den stahlseilen beim abrollen . schon deshalb würde ich den job nicht machen. die industrie ist ist nicht in der lage oder willens die arbeit zu erleichtern. (unsere fahrer machen das schon) .
