I remember how thrilled my daughter was when her oldest son could pick up his little brother or run out for something she needed. I remember how thrilled I was when my daughter could drive herself someplace and I didn't have to do it. There was always the "worry" about her out and about-and that's never gone away. It's my Mom worry-it's what I do...and it travels right over to grandchildren when they get their license. Take out for dinner is always a treat-no cooking and no dishes? That works for me!!!

Hello crazy sock lady. This is my first to see and hear you. Your were reconmended to me by a lady st church. I turn 70 shortly i have been knitting and crocheting since age 10. My wish is to make a pair of socks. I have finished a sweater two years ago. But i have made many afghans.

I totally get respecting your children’s wishes. I find it interesting that so many teens are opting out of social media these days. My youngest is 18, a senior in HS, and has never had Instagram, Facebook, twitter, WhatsApp, discord, or any of them. She says she has “no interest in sharing her business.” LOL. I will share photos of her on fb for family out of state sometimes but only with her permission. I’m here for that! Also LOVE those Christmas socks so much!! I may need to copy cat that. Gorgeous. ❤❤

They're 30 and 32 now, but they got really shy in their mid teens about being in pics on my social media. Kids have to make so many choices as they start adulting that I feel like it's smart to honor their good choices. Thanks for sharing your weaving in technique. I guess that I never paid attention to the Susan Bates finishing needles. I wouldn't need my stronger reading glasses to thread them 😅

So nice when the kids offer to go and pick up dinner for you. It is also a nice treat for your not to have to do dishes. Relax & enjoy your family tonight.

I love Cane's, but my closest one is about a 45 min drive away in Chillicothe. We go to Columbus from time to time & always stop to grab some on our way home!! ☺️

I also weave and have also noticed that some colors of weaving threads also fade more than others. So I think you’re right, it is the dyes or the fiber or a combination.

I just learned how to knit about 2 months ago (avid crocheter) and decided that my first project would be socks! I used your magic loop tutorial and finished my first pair about a month ago and now I'm HOOKED! I've been watching everyday of vlogmas after work while working on my next pair. Coincidentally, they are the Vanilla Latte pattern socks in Knit Picks Muse sock yarn 😂 I hope mine hold up as well as yours have! It’s definitely great that you respect your kids. I do the same thing because my mom never respected my wishes and I never wanted my kids to feel the way I did. Love the bigger squares on your memories blanket. My next one will definitely be bigger.

I've got to get the Polka Dot Creek one next year, it's been great every day

The other day, my grown daughter and I were talking about how our dogs are Bluetooth cuddle devices that pair up to our hearts. Looks like you have one such cuddle device in Dexter! I love how you let us see your hands knitting during a vlog. Sounds weird, but I enjoy watching others knit. I sign for the deaf, so watching hands is part of how I communicate a lot of times. And seeing other people knit has honestly helped me knit faster and longer times and more ergonomically, if that makes sense. Thank you for your stance on the boys’ wishes about social media. That is a rare opinion for young people their age to have, and I’m glad to know they’re doing well even if they’re not on screen.

As a grandmother of a 16 year old I get it. She also only uses a private FB account for her equestrian friends and family. And her horse. Her horse is on more than she is.

Also I live in rural Minnesota, no raising canes here but my baby went to college in a town five hours away and we pass one, I didn’t grow up in state where they are located. The chicken was good but the dipping sauce was amazing and the lemonade was amazing…like I would be there daily for it

Hi Kay. Thankyou for another Vlogmas. I was thinking of washing my socks for the first time as I haven't blocked them either and you started talking about how you wash your socks. I thought this is so great to hear . Thanks for the tips. I was wondering after blocking and starting to wear my socks whether they could be washed on the delicate cycle of the washing machine. When you dry your socks in the dryer though what temperature do you have the dryer? Thankyou. It is always great to have a lazy evening where someone else makes or gets take away dinner..Enjoy.

I like the simplicity of that pattern and had it favorited for a very long time but never downloaded. Unfortunately it is no longer available.😢 Anyone able to confirm that it's just 2 purl stitches at the end of every 8 stitch repeat (sts 7 &8)? I think the rest is pretty clear in the pattern description.

All the Advent minis are beautiful but do you have a favorite calendar?

Im using fingering weight held double, so it’s a DK weight gauge. So yes, you could do DK weight.

Can I ask what specific version of Carol of the Bells you used at the very end of the vlog? I love it and Shazam has failed me several times 😂

haha! I got it off of the Epidemic Sound website that I use for music. My download only says "Carol of the Bells / Traditional" Not very helpful 😂 but that is the website I downloaded it off of.

I eat mostly gluten free so I usually pick chick-fil-a over canes because they have options for gluten free. I do love canes and the canes sauce though!

Question about Cozy Memories. I noticed the diagonal pattern in the middle. Do they all go in the same direction? How do you do that?

The center 4 squares are all going in different directions, then I just follow that for placement.
