My 23 yr old asked me to make him potholders for Christmas. Be still my heart! He never asks me to make him anything. Wyatt will come back around since he was so knit worthy when he was younger. Then there will be grands to knit for!

I am so happy that Wyatt wore the socks you made him. Teens are so hard. Love the potholder. You have a lot of yarn left still. You deserve your quiet time because the next 2 weeks will be noisy but enjoyable. Love your family.

I remember those last day before school vacation days. AND I remember that first day back to school from vacation days. It felt weird at first to be SOOOO quiet in the house. I got used to it again right quick though. Oh I'm SO glad Wyatt wore his socks today to school. Happy heart time for sure. My daughter is 45 and she STILL loves wearing things I've made. It never went away, and for that, I'm very happy. Looks like Eric had some great helpers assembling chairs and you had a nice comfy armrest while you were crocheting. :)

I’ve been homeschooling my teen post-Covid so I don’t get those home alone days anymore. We have a program at church tonight and she says she’s going to wear the socks I knit for her, so there’s a win!

Kids growing up is hard but having grandkids growing up is even harder. I absolutely loved memere time with my grandchildren. One in 2nd year of college and one in 2nd year of high schoo, theyl don't need a sitter anymore.:(

My teen stopped wearing hand knits too. :( I'm hoping she comes back to it eventually. Luckily, the husband still very much enjoys the socks and hats I make him.

When you said Wyatt wore his socks to school I actually went "aawwwwww" out loud! I have 4 sons between the ages of 19 and 24 so I know what you're going through. So happy for you that he did that!!

Dexter is such a cutie. There's a female BT puppy in my neighborhood who's so sweet and friendly, it's all like a sign that my retirement puppy (three years to go) should maybe be a BT. Happy to hear about Wyatt's socks, and it's very moving to see how much it means to you.

Gracie’s little howl was adorable! “Teenagers are hard.” That is a true statement! But I understand how seeing your kids wearing things you’ve knit them hits right at the heart. My daughter lives across the nation and is pregnant with her first baby, and she still wears the sweaters I’ve made her. And loves them, too. She saves them for “dressy” events. Gracie might not be a cuddler, but Dexter sure is!

Yes teenagers are hard! I made crop tops for each of my twin girls and they get asked ‘where did you buy it’ best compliment. Their response is ‘ mum made it’

Teenagers are hard……..sometimes, but from an empty nester, enjoy those moments. ❤
