I owned this cam for awhile. And made some KZread videos. So in the focus settings there is a product showcase mode. So you don’t have to cover your face to show an item. Be sure to update the mic and camera. In the update there is a cancel record by holding the record button down to stop the video. This will keep it from saving to sd card. There’s a function where you can record audio both from the wireless microphone and the camera at the same time. With the wireless mic on hitting the power button, gives you a voice, isolation mode you’ll see this by the LED turning yellow. With the new update when you hit the link button with the microphone or repaired? It’ll actually start and stop recording on the camera. And you can pair the mic to your phone too.Have fun with your new camera

Seems like a great bit of equipment! To comment on the face tracking, I don't know if you can adjust it in any way, but the closer you get to it the less you want it snapping to you, in my opinion. Maybe a little bit of adjustment to keep you in the mid third or whatever, but seated at a table I think static probably works just fine.

Ohhh yay! That makes me happy to hear ☺️ I also really enjoy watching tech reviews, so I used my knowledge from watching those to create my own take on things! Wasn’t sure if meshing it with a vlog was the smartest idea (since it could be confusing/too random), but seems like people are enjoying it :)

Fun story. While visiting last fall, I was on a train heading down the Izu peninsula from Atami. Plenty of great ocean views along that route! I noticed an older gentleman hop over to the open seats in front of me and stick this camera in the window. I was amazed at the size and it's steady-cam ability. When he crossed the aisle back to his seat with his wife, I managed to use my tourist level Japanese to ask him about the camera. He was so happy to show it to me, he even spent some time looking up sales info for me in English! 🤩

As an avid KZread watcher I have seen many content creators get new cameras or new lenses. Many times the camera has lots of trouble deciding where to focus which causes much of the background to look super blurry. Your new camera was truly fantastic. only noticed one blur problem when you were looking out a window at dozens of people far away. All your shots were clear and crisp. I could actually read the menus if I wanted to. Your camera is amazing. The facial following feature isn't really all that useful in a static sitting scenario, but in an active scene it is really great. Loved this video. Take us shopping all you want. It was great.

Really good auto-focus and low light capabilities. Personally, I would prefer turning off the head tracking unless it's specifically a medium- to long-distance shot on a tripod (as you mentioned, it gets a little distracting when you're shooting sitting, still shots). Mic is also excellent; great review! Anyone at DJI-how about a sponsorship?

  • @bbshrimp

I'm definitely part of the vlog viewing audience, not in the market for a camera, but meshing the camera test/review in with a vlog was really interesting! It's cool seeing how the different features worked in different scenarios. I do agree that having the face tracking turned off during sit down scenes would be better! It's amazing how well it tracked you while you were walking around it tho, even as you moved further away and people walked in front of you?? Crazy. And everything was so clear and crisp at night... so pretty! ✨

I thought this was the best video review I've ever seen about the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I've been wanting this camera but on the fence about buying it because all other reviews on KZread make it look either difficult to use given the bouncy, shaky quality of their videos or they explain nothing on how to actually use the camera in real life scenarios where you want the best shots. You knocked it out of the park on how to use it and convinced me you can shoot steady high quality video on it. Ordering one today and subscribing to your channel!

We use the DJI2 and will be upgrading to the DJI3 before we move back to Asia. It's nice because it's so small and discreet. We make a lot of food content, so it can be awkward AF trying to film..so at least having something less obvious is nice. 😂 This is so much more helpful than a tech review. It's nice to see the camera in action, filming a proper vlog, rather than just a bunch of side by side comparisons to other cameras. So excited to upgrade!

I have that camera too! I'm also loving it. I can't believe the quality is as good as my larger DSLR style camera, and it even outperforms it in low light in the evenings. I agree, the gimbal takes a bit of getting used to when tilting to film things close up, and I'm also still getting used to getting the audio levels right. I think I'll still take another camera around with me for when I want to zoom in more. The gimbal has improved my videos so much - the shakiness was a big problem for me before, as I didn't want to carry an extra gimbal around with me. I also need to work out the best frame rate; I set it to the same as my other camera and there's awful flickering on fluorescent lights.

Great video! I'm currently using the Pocket 2 and really like it. I've been considering upgrading to Pocket 3, mostly for the improved dark/night quality since that seems to have been improved a lot. The battery extension is also a nice bonus, the duration of the battery in my pocket 2 has noticeably degraded over the years and having a power bank wired to the camera for longer shots does take away quite a lot of the flexibility that is one of the main selling point of the pocket cameras :)

You could have told everyone this was unsponsored and you paid for the camera yourself, you did such a great job showing off how it works for professional content creation! I really like how the image isn't oversharpened, a lot of the time, small camera sensors like this end up looking really crunchy and fizzly.

Great quality footage! Very clear and vibrant. That tracking with the camera on the tripod when you walked across the street was very cool. Also, the speed of the auto-focus on between close objects and back to you was very nice. I agree that the face tracking when seated isn't the best. Lav mic sounds great also with whatever processing you did. Internal mic has way too much background noise, which is to be expected. Low light performance is awesome! Very little noise at all! For such a small sensor, that thing kicks ass.

You explained the features very well. I'm looking for alternatives to my GoPro currently so this was informative, thanks!

I more or less just use this now when I film on the go. It's damn near 80% as good as a $5,000 set up in a combat and easy to use package. It's my favorite.

The microphones transparency is really cool, I love when tech lets you see the chips and stuff

Great Video Sarah! I agree this is a great option. Impressed by it's quality and the mic seems to do an excellent job I am worried in terms of connectivity though - there is no real live HDMI output feed on it which would be key in a studio environment. Anyways great work filming Akihabara and nice overall review of the camera - Thank you. (I am a Dane who hace been living in Japan (Nerima-ku)for 8 years with my Japanese wife and 16 year old son)

This was a great review - thanks for showing it to us! Looks like a great camera - the face tracking and auto focus are amazing! Are there any sensitivity controls on the face tracking?

Looks good even in low light, if you like the audio coming from the mic, you can connect even with other camera

Greetings form Switzerland. Haven't been thru all the coments but, re- the mic, you can even pair other brands of mics with that camera and even the ''apple ear plugs'' can be used. I work in the TV/Broadcast industry and along with the GoPro Brand, this DJI camera is a standard in our daily gear. Love all your content and thank you for your time to share it with us.

You made a very entertaining video documenting your exploration around the city and provided an in-depth review of the camera in the same time which is not easy to maintain 💯. I also this camera will make such a good combination if you take another camera like your sony one for more still shots and use the dji for walking shots, but its your creative decision after all😁
