Vlog : Medical Student PEDIATRIC Rotation | MED SCHOOL
Just finished my pediatrics rotation, and I had so much fun! The patients were lovely, and there was lots of learning. I am so grateful to the amazing residents and attendings that taught me so much during this rotation. For the first time I felt like I was actually functioning as a helpful medical student on the wards!

ABOUT ME
My name is Kian (23), I have a quirky sense of humour, and my favourite organ is the kidney (who makes regular appearances in my videos).
Should all things go according to plan I will be graduating with my MD come 2022! My goal with this channel is to share the RAW and REALISTIC parts of being a medical student through my personal experience to better inform people who are interested in medical school...or at least make you smile
I'm still learning how to make videos and I look forward to seeing how this channel IMPROVES and EVOLVES. Constructive feedback always welcome!

Pediatrics is my next block though I am still learning the theory so I got thrilled that this is a vlog on pediatrics!! can't wait to vlog about it too!! xx hope you got plenty of rest away from the camera :)

There are those types of people that are pretty in the beginning, but as you get to know them, theyre even more beautiful- thats you!:))
Did you do any Peds simulations while you were there? The Peds teams are usually some of the most fun in our facility. Thanks for all you do!
You've been posting on IG stories so I knew it was a matter of time before a new video came :) Are you thinking of doing away rotations? When do you have to submit your electives list?

Hi! Greetings from Honduras. I´m a 6th year med student. Definitely after seeing your on-calls, I am so envious of you haha! we don´t have beds for resting during shifts :(

Why not!!!
yeyyyyy :”)
Do you have any advice about applying to family medicine electives? When do you apply and how many do you apply to?
I've been thinking of attempting to transfer to medecine after my biomed degree but honestly idk how I would survive on so little sleep, it's making me reconsider 😢 I'm the kind of person to wake up 15 mins before lecture and run to class
I know this sounds really weird, but you LOOK like a consultant (I believe they’re called Attendings in the US??), idk I feel like you look as though you have a natural air of authority if that makes any sense. Even if you feel that you don’t, the fact I’m picking up on it maybe means a couple other people have as well haha, best of luck with Peds, most people I know really enjoyed it, since you often find yourself with a lot of unique cases each and every day :)
I am a med student in portugal and my life dream is live in Canada and work there, you are an inspiration for me and i love your videos ❤️

How do you handle patients in your third year in the US or Canada don't get it ? Do you go see the patients and then call the resident or attending on what to do ? Like the infos you ve got as a third year its like barely discovering medicine and barely learning how to write what you call soap notes and presenting the patients and learning the pathologies of each system .
💕💕💕💕
Hello mam How I can get the opportunity to learn the new technology and approach in management in pediatrics department in Japan. I m from abroad. What are the things are required to get in and learn from advance health sector country?? I m
6:38 you said code pink so nonchalantly. Is child abduction a regular occurrence? Or is a code pink not universally recognizable and means something completely different.
That looks intense. Anyone who says that NPs, CRNAs, PAs, or any other mid-level has the same training as a physician needs to be rebuked. All the best to you, young lady. Keep up the good work.
What do you get called to do on call ?
Do you know what specialities your thinking bout going in?
So what are you thinking to do for a specialty?
That ' honestly I have no regrets' for French fries.... I can feel you😂😂😂😂😍😍

May Ik which university student u are? And also ur medical school journey too? Im a med student too :)
I feel like your med school is sooo much different than mine! I am also on third year but in Poland med school lasts 6 years. So we are still doing mainly preclinical subjects such as microbiology, pathophysiology, pathomorphology, public health, psychology etc. We have pediatrics and internal medicine classes once a week and that's all for us. So I am so jealous that you do so many interesting stuff just after 2 years! Oh and being on call is never ever happening here haha so seeing you sleeping at the hospital feels so unreal :D
@infireme8735
3 жыл бұрын
Oh but for example here in the U.S, we have to get a bachelors degree (4 years) and finish pre me requirements which are basically the subjects you named, then after finishing university (undergraduate), we can barely apply to medical school. so I think it may be similar, just that since we finish so many of those subjects before even starting medical school, medical school here is 4 years
which medical school do you currently attend?
Hey good for you on Mc.D's. LoL.
You said that Med School is 4 years...So I'm a med student of Portugal and here med school is 6 years.
