20/20 is one minute of arc. At 6 meters, that is 0.9 cm. 20/40 is therefore 1.8 cm Everything is proportional. I check this on a regular basis using a trial lens kit.

Simply 6/60 we can say that a person who read 6/60 top line it means total distance of 60 meter he can read at six meter due to eye sight problem

If you have 6/24 vision I will ask you this question. You don’t feel eye pain in your eyes do you? Because I’m concerned that I have that kind of vision in my left eye and I keep feeling pain init. I hope I don’t have 6/24 vision in my left eye!

It depends on the cause of 6/60..if it's cureable then it can be improve.. You need to visit a low vision specialist..for eye examination dear.

@@aagisamson278 dear..you are actually unable to read last 2 lines of Snellen chart..you must have refraction test either you will get prescribed glasses or you must rule out that why your visual acuity is 6/12.

The optotypes on snellen chart are written just for the sake teaching purposes.. Otherwise there is proper lecture on spacing and letter sizing in snellen chart

That ws a poor explanation. 6/6 means that the person under test can read at 6 metres what a person with average good vision can read at 6 metres. 6/9 mens that the peron under test can read at 6 metres what a person with average vision can read at 9 meterw, and so on. The chart can be any distance from the person: the size of letters on the chart will be calibrated to correspond - in a smaller room, the letters will be larger.

6/6 is the maximum visual acuity or you can say normal visual acuity.. rest of them are least visual acuity.

60 metre means..60 metre A patient with visaul acuity 6/60..can read first line..at 6 meter..and a person with visual acuity 6/6 can read that first line from 60 metre.
