@ChrisHornerCycling if I had a wish for this channel, it would be a series of educational videos, that explain the tactical foundations of team cycling. -What tactical options does a team have if they have more helpers than the rival rider in a group? -why does it help so much to have only 1 helper when going uphill? Draft doesn’t play a big role, is it psychological? How would a 2 vs 1 situation play out going up Alpe d‘huez? -how can a team fight a single rider from another team, who is free-riding. ……. It would elevate my viewing to the next level if I understood more of the fundamental tactics involved. Team Horner has already opened up a whole new world for me, and they are doing a fantastic job, pointing out WHAT happens, but missing a little bit of explanation of the implication /what-if for me as a relative newbie. @@ChrisHornerCycling I agree that they have amazing coaches, but they have shown in the past two TDFs not only good muscles, but also great minds: Tadej looked like a rat in the hands of Visma's Team in 2022- people sent out early to help pull in key climbs, attack from right and left and traps at every corners. Of course you need a good and strong team to do so, but this year UAE and Ineos have better teams than Visma, but still have not seen anything like that from those two. While the TDF is still ongoing, I still believe Visma has better strategists than other teams. Maybe you can give us your analysis of the overall strategies of each team at the end of the Tour? In 2022 Jumbo Visma destroyed Pog as a team. They had WvA up the road on the galabier as the appetizer and the Gradon for desert. Jonas and Primoz were attacking an isolated Pogacar over and over again. In the end Tadej decided to go up as fast as he could dropping everyone but Jonas. The. At the top WvA was having a Wee and a bike change. Saw them go past an took all the dropped guys back to Jonas and Tadej. You could see Tadej’s face like is it one of those days. Then Jumbo started pacing uphill. Jonas giving him the final blow. He cracked completely. Visma knows how to crack Pogacar. But it takes strategy and a valiant team effort. I doubt they have the quality available to do so this year.

Phillipsen getting relegated makes perfect sense with how he sprinted today, I mean what's so hard with going straight pass Wout Van Aert without moving over clear as day to cut him off. I know Phillipsen has talent and he is clearly one of the top Sprinters but make decisions like that and you will not win the Green Jersey. Congrats to Gronewegan🦇 I know people hate him with how he races as well and how dirty he can be in the sprints but I honestly grown on Gronewegan and I would've felt bad if he didn't win a stage this year in the Tour but I didn't think he would beat Phillipsen without the relegation. 🤯👊🦋🦋

If you are talking about losing to Cav. He was behind the missile and had no shot. Stage 6, he knew he was getting relegated. It was clear by his demeanor after the race. He was mad at himself, the winner, Wout, the race, and the world. He holed himself in the bus to calm down. He has a ton of pressure to show up and not be Jasper the disaster like he did last year. Nothing is going his way as he is getting out sprinted. He doesn't have the same aura around him of winning when he is losing.

@SweetLike no doubt. If you rewatch yesterday's last 1km of the stage, Cav was too far ahead. Today's stage, is kinda meh, until the sprint. Tadej said he wasn't even stressed out with the split. He said, he would come back. Finally Philipsen got relegated. He has a habit of pushing people out of his way. And he has been getting away with it. Tomorrow, there's no bluffing for Jonas. Either he has it or not. Roglic probably the weakest of the 4. So far he got dropped twice. I'm not sure if Roglic was just trying to be there and there about, and wait for the week 3? (since he has a history of fading on week 3). Tadej was so dominant in the Giro ITT, let's see if that's just because he was in a kiddy pool. Ayuso LOL.. I'm sure he'll go full gas, and Almeida won't let him have the fun of it. He hasn't been there on every intermediate and sprint finish like he was when he won it in the past. He is clearly marked as a super domestique for Jonas that can help him win the Tour. The team is going all in for the yellow jersey. They are gonna let Wout be up there to take a shot, but super smart to pull the plug when he was being pit into the barrier. He has nothing to lose being up there contesting a win. I forsee Wout getting a chance to win a stage or two later into the Tour. The big man was shut down last year. But you spoke about every tom, dick and harry EXCEPT Bini...until the end of the race....when 'suddenly' Bini was in third place. A feat that was remarkable if you took the time to WATCH what he was doing, and give more comment on.

It’s a 23 min video and Bini got mentioned many times at the beginning and at the end of the video. You should go back and watch the video again. 🤔🦋

Let me clarify my statement....I watched your whole video....I love your narrative....I had no issues with how you narrated it at all....until a certain critical point in the race, where I felt you dropped the ball.....It was at the most critical part, when the sprinters were jockeying for position for the final sprint. For example, from 17:00 to about 17:55, you point out ALL of the six contenders EXCEPT Bini. He is sitting on the wheel of Rolf, drafting off his wheel, in great position, and what do you do? You actually talk about every other contender except Bini in this exciting finish. At 17:58, you finally state that Bini is in the picture, but not quite even.....and your narrative returned to being even handed. That is the only issue I had with your narrative. I love the way you cover cycling. Keep up the great work. I only wanted to point out this glaring moment in your narrative.

Who will show themselves to be knuckleheads tomorrow by riding all out when they have no chance at a stage victory or GC podium? I think G Thomas, Vlasov and Almeida will give 110%. 🛋️🦋🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I got SO SICK of Phil today complaining about this boring stage. "Nothing happening" he and Christian and TJ would all complain. First, it IS a TOUR of France. There must be some stages that just take you across part of the country. Second, as Chris explains, there was quite a lot going on that could have been brought out by the Peacock race commentators, if only they would talk about the race.
