‎ We got to visit a rarely visited portion of the industry. We went to the fish collectors directly. The fish collectors supply the exporters, which you'll see in future videos. These are directly the people in their homes catching fish to earn money to provide for their families. Some catch for the trade, some like the oscars were caught as a food fish. Our goal is to help take your pet fish and graduate you to an aquarium hobbyist. Aquarium fish in general we find are a great way to learn about ecosystems. Your fish aquarium will reconnect you with nature. If you'd like to take it to the next level, subscribe to aquariumcoop and check out our weekly videos.

Everytime I go to Peru, the poverty is a wake up call to how great we have it. In the campos they have a way of life and can be very happy and content with their situation because they don't grow up comparing themselves to the cities or the developed industrial cities. But in Lima and Quito they feel the class gap. I came home and got in my car and realized I have the freedom to drive wherever I want right now and pretty go do whatever activity I want. Their sphere of travel is extremely limited compared to developed cities and countries. We need really appreciate what we have and not what we wish we could have more. There is always more people in worse situations. *Steps off soap box*

Honestly I think the way we can help is to continue to buy wild fish and bring education to the area through some of these outreach programs for sustainability. It will be a long slow road. Not a lot we can do. We left a lot of our clothes etc for people to use as they can’t just go to the mall and buy them.

Ok no more ghost shrimp in there tank. What about neocardinias. Are the predatory?. I want blue shrimp. I have another tank for them. I want to put rainbow tetras in there. Just a few maybe. Do you sell shrimp online or fish for that matter. And What goes good with the neos as far as fish go. I've not had neocardinias before. But I want some in a big way. Lol. And I'm an addict to gold fish ornamental. Orandas fan tails etc. All fish except the large predictors. I have angel fish that's predatory enough. But I love lake Malawi chiclids. Had a 175 g full of them . but a house fire took care of that. And I haven't gone back to them again. YET! LOL. Love your channel you've taught me a lot. I have tons of experience but always learn new and better ways. Thank you. I'm going to be ordering some plants from you soon.

How do you know they are over collected? Seriously, cause from all of my research reports on populations are few and far between and out of date. What I do know is a lot of places we collected will have completely dried up and the have died by now. Some places we went were already dried up for the year. This lots of dead fish there from nature.
