I agree with the saying: “Variety Is The Spice Of Life” I too enjoy visits to the city-But, I also have a need to come home to the peace and quiet of the country side. I am 76 now and spend most of my time away from the noise of the city. Thank you for another lovely video🌹

Wish I had a Saturday Farmer's Market here that would be worth going to in our town/city. Our market is very small only fruits and vegetables. So glad your son has a job. A little spending money for him. Great experience also. Have a wonderful weekend.

Lovely calm video. Would love to meet Alain at his market and discuss our Wisconsin cheeses...cheddar, Colby, blue cheese, etc. Most are made from cow's milk as are brie and camembert in France I believe. Never heard of maconaisse and surprised there are so many goat cheeses. Always something new to learn...good. My French American friend Hanna would absolutely love such a conversation! She does wine & cheese pairings here and used to work at Hess. We planned to do a cheese tasting video but we never seem to find the time to shoot it! We’re trying again this winter 😃

Lovely! I think the thing that struck me most was that although there was some bits of road noise, the hush of the villages and the sound of people's voices was what I heard. Wonderful charcuterie choices! 😊

What a fun day. I don’t know how you learn about all the cheeses, the wines, the meats, the breads, the vegetables etc. So. Many. Choices! I am immediately overwhelmed by the abundance in your shops and market stalls. Where I live in the U.S. we do not have any market center for shopping like this.

Yes! Boulangerie B, right next to biocoop in the north of Beaune, where the big Leclerc is. Or boulangerie Marie Boucherot, 20 place Monge, although it is not 100% organic but very good, local ingredients and very natural

A pretty tour, thank you! I am wondering how you find brocantes? I am a little confused if they are permanent markets or something that happens more on a weekly/monthly basis? I am coming to France next month and my partner and I want to renovate his apartment and shop for some second-hand furniture/decor. But when I search "brocante" in his area (the alps near Bourg-Saint-Maurice), nothing comes up. Any advice and tips would be much appreciated!

There are brocante shops (which you find on Google maps for example), Emmaüs charity shops which you find on google or their website. Then there are brocante markets, vide greniers etc which are in the streets and announced on little signs by the road but also on the website brocabrac.fr You can find the ones near Bourg Saint Maurice by searching for the number 73. Happy brocanting!
