Vision Jet Dominica to Martinique

Dominica to Martinique
This video shows the Vision Jet avionics safety checking - and engine start.
This Vision Jet G2+ has auto throttle and the + is an automatic extra boost on takeoff.
There is no need to touch the throttle at takeoff.
Some people ask why is his hand on the dash at takeoff ( not on the throttle) because he is ready to bring the landing gear up on takeoff- and the throttle is automatic. His hand goes straight to trim after landing gear, then back to the dash to change avionics settings- checklists etc…

Another fantastic video! If only you arrived a bit later in the month. Would’ve been able to get some photos and videos from the outside.

Stupid question: why did they talk in french? Aren‘t they obliged to talk english over the radio?

Not a stupid question! I say the same thing! The island of Martinique is French so when in “French” airspace they talk in French- also in Paris. They speak English to anyone who joins the airspace and doesn’t speak French to them. However there is confusion- they were calling an airplane in French and didn’t receive a response- because the airplane didn’t understand them so yes they are required to speak English but ….

@@visionjettravel6426 French is also one of the official ICAO languages that’s why we can speak french in french airspace, it is legally at the same level as english. There is even some island around Guadeloupe (the island just north of Dominica) like “Les Saintes” where you are required to speak French only when you join the frequency. You will ask why? Because french student pilot or your typical PPL owner are training and flying around, a lot of them are not familiar enough with english and since french is ICAO too, they are not required to anyway. That’s basically why, I’m from Martinique and I also agree, a single language should be used everywhere and it’s English but at the same time it would limit my people to get into aviation sooo I believe that’s how things goes…. Anyway thanks for that video

That‘s sometimes a bit of an issue. I experienced the same in Italy and the Netherlands. Even if it‘s legal it keeps all pilots not capable of the local language from following.
