@@suetaylor1127 The loss of a parent can really change an ape. I've seen it firsthand with Gin the chimpanzee. His adoptive mom Sazae died, and he's never been the same. Now he's become something of a loner.

The genuine love these people show for these gorilla babies is touching. What do we need on this earth? - Much more of whatever THESE BLESSED PEOPLE have in their hearts. Greed is ultimately why there are gorillas orphans. There is no greed in gorilla society or in the persons who look after these wondrous fur people.

The work the rangers do is amazin....beyond words

Very nice to see the ranger caring so much for this little one. I'm very impressed with his professionalism at the time and caring for the infant. The baby was very comfortable among them and not stressed out.

Thank you Virunga National Park Rangers!! That sweet little baby gorilla. He has such a worried look in his eyes. Who knows what horrible scene he witnessed before he was stolen from his Mom.

He wasn't just stolen. Poachers kill family groups to get the babies. He watched his family die.

Poor little fellow. What wonderful work these human heroes are doing for our distant cousins!

I hope these brave Rangers know how many people around the world are thankful for their work. Ranger Shamavus seems to be very dedicated as his interactions with the baby gorilla were very sweet. Is it assumed that if the baby has been poached, the mother gorilla was killed?

My heart breaks watching these. These are not trophies. We are descendants of these miraculous creatures. It's like kidnapping and killing humans. Look at their eyes, so incredibly innocent.

Anytime we think of animals as all the others, and ourselves as not animals I hope this video is available all around the world in every home and in school for children and too many insensitive adults to watch often. This little baby was so frightened, just like little human babies who don't want you to touch them and pull their arms to their little chests. This was a very frightened little baby, and whoever the poachers were, may they spend many decades behind bars looking out and not free, the same way the baby was. I wonder what they did to her mama

This really makes my heart hurt. I've read that poachers will likely have to kill numerous adult gorillas from 1 family in order to steal one baby as they will all fight to the death to keep their young from being stolen. If this is true, can you imagine the horror this little guy witnessed, as he's being ripped from his dead mother's bloody arms so that these disgusting people can sell him? I will never understand why we humans feel the need to destroy everything on this beautiful planet. We're supposed to cohabitate but instead we kill, destroy & steal to the point that we are pushing so many beautiful creatures, such as this little guy, straight into extinction. Thank God for people like Mr. Shamavu. I hope he and his friends can save all of the endangered apes. Maybe someday someone can save us humans, too, from ourselves. 😢
