Orphaned baby gorilla RESCUED

Baby Bobga is yet another victim of the illegal wildlife trade. His poor mother was murdered for the bushmeat trade. But Bobga was saved. The staff at PASA member Limbe Wildlife Center are giving him the care and love he needs at this critical time. limbewildlife.org/ pasaprimates.org/

Those eyes says it all! So precious. I have tears running down my face because this little guy can live but knowing his family is all gone because people killed them all. Just tragic.

0:16 "BUSHMEAT" trade?! I’m from the US, and fortunately (for me), I have never heard of this. Are you saying that people actually EAT GORILLAS?! That’s hard to wrap my head around. So tragic

Yes, they do. All kinds of wild animals. They are poor in those countries.

The worst part is that it's not just one gorilla killed, but several more in an entire family protecting the baby. And even though it's very unhealthy to consume bushmeat, people over there are starving so much that they ignore the warnings. And here's another thing - corporations in the US owned by conservative Republicans have been confirmed as cosponsoring the slaughter.

The hands are the most desired parts. I tell you, I saw pictures with hands and heads separated, and a dead Chimpanzee, ,head on the side with still the look of suffering, and the rib cage open. You see it and do not get they in your head. It looks so wrong. It is said AIDS and maybe Covid came that way on the humans. Or it was because they enjoy to force Orang Utans into brothels, some men like that. Both is the way AIDS came over us. It was a known desease in that communities.

There was a tribe that traditionally ate a gorilla every time they got a new chief. This practice seems to have died out, as newer religions and beliefs spread into the area with the arrival of the European powers.

I would have loved on that baby. They like being held at that age. Thankfully he doesn't seem as traumatized as some of the others I have seen who can't even be touched for several weeks. 😢

Pobrecita, his momma killed probably right in front of him, then taken away from his kind to live among the same kind that killed his momma. Inhumanity=human beings.

Why have you not removed that restraint from his left ankle? That should have been done immediately.

Is he just left in the age by his self. No care giver to hold and comfort. Ok I see one I think. Please don’t leave him alone.

I wonder whether it might be helpful for the caregiver to actually hold the baby as his mother would have. Care is great but it seems very hands off.
