A great stick and base. I’ve had mine for about 3 years now and love it.

The different spring strengths/cam options are great and the adjustable friction dampeners are the icing on the cake. Beautiful piece of kit, I love mine.

I am a big fan of Virpils button boxes. Essential in all multicraft cockpits and there is not really any competition for those on the market.

The thing with Virpil is that it is expensive, but not overpriced. You're just paying for the quality of design and manufacturing. I had been on the fence for about 2 years before buying my stick and throttle because of the price, but never regretted it. These things are such a joy to fly with. One thing to note is that, while the base comes with a desk plate, the entire unit is taller than the mainstream joysticks. I found that having the joystick on the desk is uncomfortable and went with desk-clamping mounts. That adds yet another 100 bucks or so to the price, but very much worth it.

Also good with the extension. Really good for helicopters.

Agree, I have this and has improved my flights and fun immensely. Their collective is next-level as well.

I have the Virpil collective and rudder pedals and OMG!!!!! Not cheap but very very good. I do need to grab myself a base and flight stick so I can finally start some helicopter 'flying'. 😉

I have the cm3 gimbal with a 200mm extension and constellation alpha prime grip as my cycle. Works beautifully.

Looks great , however i already use the ApacheV2 simulator for my heli sim.

Too bad on Xbox with don't have high quality flightsticks. Great review.

I do own the MongoosT Throttle, MongooT stick and the WarBRD (no dampners) and I love it. I just need the pedals, as now I'm using a Thrustmaster one

Gday from AUS Mark, another great video. I was looking at some new sticks for my motion rig as I just received my new Rhino force feedback base. The issue I currently have is that I'm running the VKB Gunfighter MGC Ultimate, it's 580grams, i want to reduce the weight of my stick to maximisethe feedback. I also like the way Virple mount as apposed to VKB for added rigidity. Plus, the Alpha was only 500 grams, so a touch lighter. Keen to know why you chose the Alpha over the Prime if that's the case or did they decide which grip to send you? I heard the Prime has upgraded buttons and some other points however for me it's just getting to heavy at around 600grams I believe. I'm looking at ordering both the Alpha and Warbird stick, I want the Warbird stick to better simulate flying bush planes, plus that's much lighter. I'll use the Alpha for everything else.

I selected the Alpha for very much the same reasons as you outlined. Seemed best fit for my needs plus of most interest to many enthusiasts.

The Virpil is a toy vs the VPC Gunfighter Pro.

Do you have any experience with the VKB Gladiator Combat Stick as a comparison?
