My brother had one of these when we first moved to the United States. He didn't know what Star Wars was back then, but he loved this toy. Thank you for sharing and filling me with great memories ❤

That's what Star Wars did, brought joy to so many, even those who never saw it

I remember my grandpa buying me an X-wing that went together exactly like this one. It's a little bigger, and all the proportions and colors are true to the original film, and I swear I ran through that house every day "shooting tie fighters". And later, he bought me a tie fighter, accurate to the same scale as the X-wing, and with detachable solar panels. You can imagine the kind of fun that was. I keep those toys to this day, and I will probably keep them into perpetuity. I miss him.

These videos serve two purposes: to educate those who never got the chance to experience these toys because they were born after they were released, and to give the rest of us a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you find other videos in my library that bring back cherished memories for you

I have to say, this is really a great toy. Newer more accurate Kenner/Hasbro X-wings exist but they are big and complicated. This one was great and I still love it to this day.

I still have mine from 1978 Christmas, canopy is a bit yellow but it still lights up and makes noise

I tried a few batteries but I couldn't get anything to light-up nor make noise. I wasn't lying when I said it was one of the first Star Wars vehicles a lot of us ever received

I still need to get an X-Wing...but that's going to require me to also get a 6th Luke Pilot figure 😂

thanks for watching and commenting! I think there are a few variations of X-Wing Luke out there, so you're not getting the exact same figure, always room for more

Great video, buddy. You have a new sub. I love vintage Star Wars. I am currently trying to put my old X-Wing back together. It is nice to find another UK Channel. There are not many of us flying the flag. Keep up the good work, and stay safe.

For many, catching a glimpse of an original 1978 X-Wing is like stepping into a time machine! Discovering that the wings actually expand and collapse is a delightful surprise. The classic landing gear, the fixed R2-D2 unit, and even the iconic KX-9 cannons-each detail is a nostalgic revelation. Thanks for watching and commenting

@mcklown Hey guy, no need to feel like you were misled into watching the video. Instead, be proud that you already know all those cool details! Many people don't know that it was released in 1978 or was one of the first ships released. Many aren't aware that the cannons are removable and are called KX-9, or that R2 isn't removable. They might not know the wings expand and collapse or that there's landing gear. Those are the hidden gems! You might enjoy checking out some of my Star Wars interviews; there are plenty of secrets in those that you might not know about kzread.info/dash/bejne/emyDmKSfaLDRopc.html
