Vintage shopping: QUEEN ELIZABETH II SPECIAL PIECES & ANTIQUES
Vintage shopping: QUEEN ELIZABETH II SPECIAL PIECES & ANTIQUES// Dear all, We hope you're all doing well! The whole world is mourning the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Most of us have known only her and really came to adore her. When she passed away I (Kirsten) was still in Germany visiting friends while Joerg was already back in England. While talking on the phone, we said that once I'm back we will visit the Vintage Emporium in Stockport which is our favourite place for vintage shopping to look for special pieces to remember the Queen. But because we can't help it, we will be sharing lots of beautiful antique pieces and also enjoy a cup of tea in the Vintage Tearoom. We found some wonderful things but are quite certain that we will add more throughout the year. Much love, Kirsten & Joerg xx

All you needed was Paddington Bear and the Queen’s jam sandwich she keeps in her purse. What a grand lady the Queen was.

Lovely video! I wanted to tell you that I own two coronation mugs, one of Queen Elizabeth and one of her father. I found them on separate occasions at different antique stores here in the U.S. and when the queen passed I put red roses from my rose bush in her mug and greenery with a black ribbon tied to the handle. I made a little memorial with a candle and white glove and a small crown that I added a Union Jack button to, like a jewel in her crown. (It was a vintage British Invasion button from when the Beatles came to the USA). I lit the candle every day of the mourning period, refreshing the roses as needed. She was greatly admired all over the world and we will never see her like again! She truly gave her entire life to the service of her country.

Well said, she was a class act through and through.
I was given a coronation mug of our Queen by the local council when I was 11. I have always cherished it. It's as good as new! God bless her for her wonderful steadfastness and compassion

Oh thank you!
What a wonderful way to remember Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ! I stayed up after my night shift to watch the funeral . I don't mind admitting that I teared up several times . I found a Coronation brooch of the Queen at an antique show a few years ago and I wear it often . It's about 3 inches high and her crown sparkles which I love . Growing up we had several books about the Royal family which my sisters and I loved looking at . I'll never forget seeing the Queen in Toronto in 2010 . She is dearly missed . 💕👑🇨🇦
After 2 and a half years of waiting, I am finally coming back to England! I am so excited, and your wonderful video has motivated me to check out the fabulous antique stores while I’m there…. so much better than what we have in my area of Canada! You paid a lovely tribute to our queen. I’m so sad to think of the world without her.
😢Yes (R.I.P. Queen Elizabeth 11 ) Dear Kirsten and Joerg, very much enjoyed your visits to the Vintage Houses , Years ago as a young girl my grandmother would take me to such places To wander and be surprised by finding lovely memorabilia of the past . I'm not English, but I miss her already too, Kirsten. She was such a lady, I loved to see her dressed up in her matching outfits with the beautiful brooches, necklaces and her famous pearl earrings. I love her testimony for Jesus. She lived and reigned very well. Definitely will miss her!!

Kirsten and Joerg thank you for this lovely tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. Such incredible things at both places. LOVED them serving tea in the vintage dog tea pot - wonderful! You came away with some treasures. As always, a wonderful Vlog!
What a magnificent store! Love the Queen's memorabilia, especially the tins.
I've been glued to the television every day, these last two weeks, watching all the events from the UK. So moving and emotional! Praying for the Royal family, especially King Charles as our new monarch. (Huge job ahead for him and enormous shoes to fill, after our beloved Queen Elizabeth has died!). I collect antique royal memorabilia and I've got three antique cup/saucers with the three generations of coronation events. Wow, I love your book and biscuit/cookie tin. Thank you for this lovely video and have a terrific week. Much love to you both. XO XO (🇨🇦and🇬🇧)

Thank you so much for watching! We didn't really watch a lot of it to be honest as we were so busy, I was still in Germany visiting friends (more about that in a video next week). The bits I watched from the funeral made me very emotional too. Of course we knew that she 96 years old but I think the fact that only a photo of her was posted 2 days before her passing made it very surreal indeed. So we wanted to film a video last weekend and I rescheduled the Germany one for next week. Have a lovely week too.

I dont know of anyone who collects such, other than you Kirsten and Joerg, and it makes me sad to think I have no one to pass it to and who will enjoy it as much as it has for me. Glad to know you're home in England but had a joyful reunion with family and friends in Germany. 😘xxxx Lots of hugs and love.

Dear Susan Joy ThompsonI, too have been glued to the tv and have watched all of the processions and services. I am sad to see it end, for all that it was a funeral. I found comfort and hope in the stability of the Monarchy and the values and light they represent to an ever darkening world. I only have 2 Royalty cups and saucers in my collection . One of QEII Coronation and the other of Charles and Diana’s Wedding. I let a cup and saucer of George VI Coronation get away as I hesitated over the price, someone else snapped it up. However a friend gifted me with an exquisite china figurine of the Queen in her Coronation regalia.. the same friend found a QEII coronation book from 1953 and gave it to me. it is filled with geneaologies, protocols, pictures of course and detailed lists and descriptions of all of the Peers of the Realm who participated and much more. I also am praying for King Charles and looking forward to his coronation I am just an American who loves all things English..I hope my Grandchildren or great grands will appreciate and treasure my collection. from a kindred spirit. 🇺🇸

Your purchases are so lovely and your special tribute to the Queen was quite respectful and empathetic
Hi kirsten and Joerg. I love your tribute to her majesty, the late Queen. What a beautiful lady she was and I knew you'd do a splendid tribute to her. That photo album was amazing, a real treasure and a great find, it was like it was waiting there especially for you both. Maybe you could keep the tea caddy up in your lovely attic room, it would be lovely on display there, I would keep a small kettle up there so you could relax with a lovely cup of your favourite tea. Every time we'd see it, it would be a lovely reminder. I watched most of the funeral and it was very touching and sad. Thank you Kirsten and Joerg, for another wonderful video, sending lots of love and blessings your way. 🙏❤️🇮🇪🤗💐👍

I loved this video. I haven't stopped by in ages. I miss the dear Queen so much even though I live far away in British Columbia! I have seen her a few times in person when she visited Vancouver. Once long ago in 1983, she waved at my sister and I when she spotted us standing alone on a sidewalk during our work lunch hour! We thought that was so kind; we picked a street on which her motorcade drove past and we knew it wouldn't have many people as it was out of the way. What a wonderful sweet wise woman she was.

I love shopping for antiques. I enjoyed tagging along with you today. Thank you for sharing your shopping trip.
I have been a collector since I was probably around12 years old. I convinced my Mom to buy me a pair of glass candle sticks in a thrift shop. When I think back I realize what a giving Mom I had since I am sure being a farm lady she never ever owned a pair of tapered candles little lone glass candlesticks. That was the beginning of 70 years of my collecting. I so much enjoyed seeing you shopping in a wonderful shop and comparing it to shopping in the USA, And I have had a lifelong love of your Queen since a 9th grader watching her coronation on a17 inch black and white television. Then I discovered we shared a birthday, And I sat sadly watching her funeral.
