You have a very good and accurate memory. That is 100% correct. When a former bandmate makes a comment like this you know it is true. No one from the "KISS" camp has anything to loose or gain stating anything but the truth.

I'd say the best comment given about Vinnie Vincent (And that was done without the guy actually speaking) was when Mark Slaughter performed at another Kiss convention, he appeared on stage, proceeded to shred like there's no tomorrow and did a KILLER show. So why is this a comment on Vinnie Vincent? - First of all Mark was the lead singer of the Vinnie Vincent Invasion - Second, he played a Jackson Vinnie Vincent "Double V" guitar. Mark's statement was "Look Vinnie, not only do I give the people every cent of their money's worth by actually showing up to play this gig but I can shred on a much higher level than you ever could and I'm doing so playing YOUR guitar!"

That actually seems more realistic at this point. There are lots of has-beens who need money and play mediocre gigs, but they do actually play because they really do need the money. I am sure Vinnie could get a spot on some "hair metal nostalgia" bill at a state fair if he really needed to. But I get the impression he really doesn't need the money. Even though he charges a lot fir everything, there cannot really be that many units moved. He just seems to like making trouble for the hell of it.

I'm somehow still in one of those secret groups on Facebook.... literally only 13 people said they were going to this birthday bash and two of them were the people organizing the event. You also left out how they are holding this thing at the same date and location as the Rock N Pod Expo.....the same expo Vinnie fucked over and lied about last year. Then Vinnie's lawyer contacted the Rock N Pod organizers and asked if they could tie the birthday thing in with their expo... when they said "hell no", Vinnie released ANOTHER statement saying that THEY asked HIM to co-promote their events! He literally just flat out lied. Unbelievable

He could upload free you tube videos of the box set material to make up for that atrocity. That would be the stand up thing to do, since so many people purportedly never received it. You know, COPYWRITE the stuff, for crying out loud and watermark the video, but offer it free of charge. Unless a KISS-cruise are arranged on a week to week basis, then his ability should be on a higher level. Hell, if I was invited to participate in a gathering of some sort then i will be rehearsing like a lunatic up to the actual event. What i’ve seen from Vinnie are so pathetic i haven’t been able to see it to end.

Every promoter needs to see this. Every Kiss/Vinnie fan needs to see this too! Great job presenting the facts.

I met the twin daughters back about 20+ years ago. I was traveling with the Kiss tribute band I played with & they were working at a gas station/convenience store, somewhere off the interstate in Connecticut. They were pretty cool girls. They were pumping gas & cleaning windshields & checking oil. Those were fun days.

Gene is the fucking man, I knew that after I heard his solo album. He has the keys to power in this life (a man that knows what he is saying) and in my opinion has done some of the heaviest songs that can make it on some of my thrash and heavier metal playlists with bands like: Testament, Pantera, Annihilator, and a Gene Kiss song can play right in between without any kind of weird break. Not for the innocent and dance all over your face are just a few examples of some my personal favorites from Gene.

Hunty Wabbit I fully agree with you. Gene has done some amazingly heavy songs. God of Thunder is the main reason I sing as I do. Tjose vocals were Detah Metal before the term was even invented. Gene has been a huge influence on heavy music's progression in my opinion, though many will disagree simply coz its KISS and they dont like KISS.

God I love this video. Way too many great lines to quote. I know Vinnie actually did an intimate birthday bash that apparently went well for a few who went. I have an ex-wife, when we married, she looked like Kendall Jenner. We divorced 20 years ago, and now she looks like Vinnie Vincent!

Not sure many people would consider Vinnie a shredder at any point in time. His solo stuff found him playing faster than he really could, and it was just a bunch of atonal randomness. He was better in KISS when Gene and Paul could keep him in the pocket.

I were always a hardcore Vinnie fan, but it's now sadly proven that he haven't changed since 1980's. Also what Paul and Gene said is also proven to be true.

You know, I think it did happen and I may have already commented on this here when it was still so fresh in my mind. Lately, his fan events have involved steep admission prices and, surprisingly, he has proven that he still can play and even performed solo at a recent event for Kiss fans. He's been promising a live DVD and more but I don't believe any of it has been released, which is not surprising.

This man made my sides split with laughter,OMG! He has a Gambino Family soldier, razor sharp wit. This man made my eyes water in a volcanic fit of joy and ecstacy! This is poignant commentary. In KISS, Mark St. John and Vinnie were the members I knew the least about. I'm researching, but I'm unfamiliar with Ace and Vinnie's side, or post KISS bands. Fellow soldiers in the US Army told me, "Sweet, yeah. They kick fuckin'ass!!! Frehley's Comet and the Vinnie Vincent Invasion!!"

Gene Simmons and Vinnie at the Nashville Vault , its evident that drinking is going on and clearly Gene wanted to distance himself. He already had to deal with that with Ace Freahley.

Dude cancelled show after people booked hotels and flights and got time off from work. If he knew he wasn't going to be able to play, and couldn't at that time he should have not booked the fucking show. This ain't about what he did 20 years ago, this is last year. By the way I was sticking up for him when he came back and telling people that it wasn't fair to judge him on how he looks. The dude writes a brilliant song... he's very talented. The fans are sour that you cancelled on them Vinnie and that they're out of thousands of dollars. What don't you get!

This guy is a loon. I paid a lot of money to see him at the Kiss Expo in Atlanta last year. Paid extra for vip for myself and my kids. Paid for upgraded vip for a guaranteed window of 10:30 till noon for meet and greet and autographs. They wouldnt even let us in until 12, then said to just wait in line behind the hundreds of people they let in without tickets. Waited 4 hours, got nothing, didnt even get the souvenirs I was "guaranteed" to receive for being a vip. Then Vinnie up and walks out because he was bored, and wanders around while were waiting for hours.

@@RushTrader not including the hotel and travel, probably 450. I even had paid about 125 for a scale replica of vinnies guitar, to be signed and numbered, only 100 made. They never even got them made. Never got an apology, and the guy running it had the nerve to sit there in the lobby counting all the cash he was raking in while everyone was complaining about not getting what we were paying for. Apparently he had ran another kiss expo once before and done something similar under another name. Ended up having to dispute everything with my credit card company, and got most of it back. I was in line with people that had driven across country to be there, waited for 12 hours, and never even got in the room with Vinnie.

You are crazy. He was a fantastic guitarist. He is a nut case now but he was truly a phenomenal guitar player.

I think the main person Vinnie is accusing and attacking here is Ralph (aka Dr. Fuk) over on the almosthuman56 YT channel. Lately Ralph has put out several videos discussing Vinnie and the way he has been acting and treating his fans. There is also someone who works for Vinnie who has been saying stuff about Ralph and insulting him. Ralph has a lot of clout with the KISS fans and he has certainly gotten under the skin of Vinnie and his team, because they have been taking shots at them a lot lately. When Peter first left KISS I was not happy but I gave Eric Carr the courtesy of listening to him and came to be a fan. When Ace left I tried to do the same with Vinnie. But Vinnie was different, immediately I took a disliking to him. There just seemed to be this arrogance to him and I had only seen a few photos of him. I remember clearly the day I knew I would probably never be a Vinnie Vincent fan. It was during an interview when he was asked about where he saw KISS going from his arrival forward and he said, " Now KISS will be a kick ass band, now finally KISS will be able to take the world by storm and KISS will finally be a great rock band.". WOW! Such arrogance! I expected the usual, " I just hope to be able to make the fans happy and be the best I can be for the fans because they deserve it. I know I have some big shoes to fill and I hope I don't let the fans down." - But oh no, Vinnie made it all about himself and how great he was and apparently how bad Ace was and that KISS was apparently some local bar band before he joined them. I have never liked his guitar playing and when he started up Invasion it proved to me that he was nothing more than some punk who could play fast but had no real soul. Vinnie might have been a more technical player than Ace, but he was not and never will be as good as Ace, period. As for him transitioning, no I don't think that's the case. Vinnie has always dressed somewhat effeminate, I mean it's pretty bad when in 1983 Paul Stanley questions someones sexuality by the way they were dressing LOL. Vinnie just got old and gained weight and wore the Hillary style jumpsuit because it was probably the only decent looking thing he owned that still fit, those pants looked awful tight though lol.

I have to say as a purchasing fan of kiss and all things kiss. I also go and see all of the shows including bought my ticket to the Memphis show of vinnie Vincent and got screwed over $150. I was going to purchase that stupidly expensive Nashville ticket because I live very very close to Nashville. The meet and greet had me on the fence and before I pulled the trigger on the ticket. This Steven guy that apparently Vinnie has though all of the online stuff decided to say that everything wrong with Vinny has to do with politics. So I had to say something. I said no technically the first show could have been the issue of a promoter and I said I'm not really sure what politics has to do with this. Next thing I know I'm kicked out of the group so now you can be kicked out band and not be able to purchase a ticket to Vinnie if you don't fully kiss the ass of all of the people underneath Vinnie. I'll call this the Vinnie Vincent pyramid scheme.

Did you try calling your credit card company to report the show that never happened? It's fraud and they would probably do something about it. Not sure what the time limit is on this sort of thing but worth a try.

@@RushTrader I used my debit card and had my Bank check into it. my bank temporarily gave me my money back and I sent several emails to Derek. now this is why I did not blame Vinnie for the Memphis show Derek never responded to me until my bank told me that they received information from Derek stating that the event happened and they tried taking my money Derek finally emailed me back and said that his lawyer never said that then I never got a reply To me that showed me that that show could have failed because of Derek Stephen knows this by the way Steven banned Me from purchasing anything else from Vinnie all because of political b******* and I want that story out there because I hope Vinniefinds out about it and gets pissed at Stephen Mr. Vincent is already having to scrape the walls for pennies seeing him was important to me and I live in Tennessee so I don't have to book the hotel rooms and things like that I still personally don't have an issue with mr. Vincent But these people that he is pulling in close to him all have mental issues every freaking one of them I call it the Vinnie Vincent pyramid scheme.

Thanks for the comment. To be honest, I know little about the promoters that were involved in these shows, although I hear the promoter involved with the show featuring Carmine Appice was a good guy. Also, based on what you've observed to this point, do you think Vinnie can still shred?

@@RushTrader as far as the promoter it is for sure Derek because I have the purchasing email that goes directly to him and it was his website that you purchased from. I can only judge things by the Memphis show. As a guitar player myself that is now in it his mid-30s and I don't play as much anymore because I'm trying to get out of that field of work. Plus I am burned out on it currently and I think honestly that that is Vinnie's issue. I think he is simply burned out and that happens to a lot of us. Can he shred? I think if he sat down every day with a guitar for about two months I fully feel that most of his playing will be there. I know when I started relearning how to play it took me about 6 weeks. someone that has been on a professional stage like him for so long I'm sure he still can whip out some solos but I'm also positive he will be real Rusty. It never just goes away unless you have some type of medical condition like Parkinson's. I think from sitting back and being someone that has not got overly angry towards Vinny yet LOL I think Vinny is suffering from a bunch of mental issues and I mean that with all of my heart and the people that he has around them. If you look at their pictures if you read their comments they have a disease as well it's almost as if they identify with each other and they're hovering around each other because it's something familiar I mean that with all of my heart and no negativity I used to play with a sunset strip legend and he is a lot like vinnie. He just can't allow good things to happen without finding a way to ruin them I think there are a lot of big-time artists that are that way we just don't know it because we don't know them personally. As a x musician I can say a lot of us are messed up in many ways LOL

Thanks again for the comment and perspective. One thing we do know, and history has made this clear, VV has never been easy to work with and nobody has anything really good to say about him. They may say he was a talented player or writer but dealing with him professionally has been a nightmare for all those involved with him. It's a shame to see him come back and see that really nothing has changed because he's, again, burned every bridge possible over the past year, including the fans.

You forgot before he was with Kiss, he worked with Dan Hartman. Look up the video for Instant Replay by Dan Hartman. I'm not a big Vinnie fan, but why cut him up so badly?

He's blatantly and intentionally screwed over the street level people who've supported him. Imagine booking airfare and accommodations, and scheduling time off of work, only to find he cancels at last minute or simply doesn't show up. In his statements he actually blames the people supporting him. This is far beyond a slap in the face. The video here had no critiquing of Vinnnie's playing abilities, past or present, so that aspect is somewhat irrelevant for the topic.

A search engine revealed a KZread video entitled "Vinnie Vincent - Full shredd from Birthday Bash in Nashville ..." But the video was removed by the uploader. The video's description of "haters go away! Vinnie is back - and he told you so. Our new desktop experience was built to be your music destination. Listen to official albums & more" is still visible. The description looks like something only Vinnie Vincent would write, and I wonder if the video that was uploaded was something entirely different, only to be taken down so that Vinnie could make people think the birthday bash actually happened.

@@mikewallace1270 I'm just as anxious for information, too. My phone didn't provide me with any more VV news, but I did leave my search engine tab open and some new things came up. One was a KZread video entitled "Vinnie Vincent Birthday Bash guitar Audio bootleg." The screen is black, so nothing can be confirmed. A link to a Blabbermouth article infers the event lasted six hours, and contains a tweet from Shout It Out Loudcast featuring a photo of VV sitting in an empty banquet room with the Birthday Bash poster on the door.

@@RushTrader i just viewd whats been slapped on youtube. well the show from lights camera action point of view was good, as for the songs same old stuff nothing new, some lyrics had to be changed due to muslims taking offence , the thing that i noticed they had live cheering and screaming as if there was ppl at the show , but nobody was there. for me as a kiss fan of orignal line up i lost the passion for kiss way back in 1982.

Also, adding fake audience noise to a KISS show these days doesn't sound too far fetched when you consider most of Paul's vocals were likely canned anyway so just more fake stuff taken to a new level.

So my question to you is:..is it a crime to cancelling shows..?..maybe VV gets low about "throlls"..propably he got a sensitive art pesonality..some people say things like he "not shredd" on the Cruise gig!..and they say that about a song like LICK IT UP!..come on guys!..that song isnt build on any shredding at all!..LICK IT UP is build on a melody line from the singer and the guitar players job is to play a good chord progression part to build up the melody line..and i think Vinnie knows where it fit with just a rhythm guitar in a song..most of the Kiss stuff is build on "traditional song Writing" (not so much focus on soloing)..some people say that they never get the Box set VV "promises"..i say..Propably VV had a person employe work at his fan club at the time era about the box set..so maybe its a person who work at his fanclub that didnt do his job about the box set..i dont Think VV worked with his fan club AND TOURING AT THE SAME TIME...Vinnie has been out of the public for about 20 years..and he put his feet on the stage at the Cruise gig..i Think that was a good step..CHEERS!

No, not a crime to cancel shows but it is a crime to not give fans their money back. That's called a SCAM and Vinnie has been running them since the 90s. As for the pre-Kiss Kruise performance, did that look like someone with any command of the guitar whatsoever? I don't know what's sadder, Vinnie or the excuses you keep making for him.

If you compare the scanned pages from Metaluna along with his statement about the DV he perpetrated on his wife you'll notice its the same fax machine. It also has the same narcissistic style writing of putting certain words IN ALL CAPS as does the current press release this video reviews. The words VINNIE VINCENT being a prime example. So unless the same person is still working for VV, which is unlikely, its definitely him. Heck, I can find comments on YT and other videos critical of him with the same style of putting words in all caps. I wouldn't be surprised if VV spends all day trolling people online in third person given his narcissism. I actually have screenshots of his old vinnievincentguitar1 channel comments with one of his alts defending him in third person.

I believe it's the same one, only now it's official. I saw a couple of articles on major music sites saying VV has officially announced on his website a show on August 10, which is the same one, I believe, he told fans privately about.
