.flow helped me get through one of the darkest times in my life. I'm more than elated to see it get the touch of humor that Joel offers.

Im so glad he’s playing .Flow, one of my favorite Yume Nikki fangames of all time. I hope he plays 2kki at some point as well

I don't know what it is, but watching my favorite streamer of all time playing my comfort games brings me so much joy. I was hoping he'd see the parade room, because my reaction to seeing it during my first playthrough was utterly disturbed, more so than the childbirth event. Maybe next time if he ever comes back to this one.

The best .Flow experience I ever had was when I found a recreation in vr chat. It wasn't the whole game but it went pretty deep

nice to see joel playing yume nikki fangames. Id say he should play yume 2kki at some point too, but that game practically expects you to have a guide in some places, not to mention having missable events and stuff like npc permadeath if you kill willy-nilly.

I'm not sure where Joel is getting the idea that people generally don't like Final Fantasy XVI, he must just not know a lot of people who have a PS5/like JRPGs, because most people I've heard of who've played have mostly had positive things to say about it, like I don't think I've yet heard of anyone actually playing it and absolutely hating it or anything, I think it's just a matter of not a lot of people having forked over for a PS5 yet. It seems like a lot of people (or at least this was how Vinny felt) *like* that it went for a more traditional fantasy setting again, but I dunno.

The area at 2:07:00 has a kind of sudden, loud random event that mimics a game crash, and 52:40 has a sub-area that appears sometimes, where a chaser can appear at Mach speed and catch you. But I think none of the scary moments in .flow are the usual big loud jumpscares, and definitely not screamers either. .flow is a lot more about the general sense of dread and gradual decay. But generally speaking, in Yume Nikki fangames you usually don't find the sudden fullscreen scares that often happen in RPG Maker horror. They are pretty rare. PS: I just remembered that (spoilers) the final ending has one jumpscare exactly at the end, before the credits sequence.

​@@jojogape I think the candleworld kaibutsu only chases after you if you hurt the kaibutsu in the plant maze? Or somewhere else, I don't remember exactly but there are very specific criteria that must be fulfilled for it to happen, doesn't happen under normal gameplay.

37:15 Some reasons why FFXVI isn't popular: -2 porn scenes in the first two hours of the game. -Toxically masculine turbo sexualized dudes the size of 3 fridges (if you don't have enough brain to know why that's bad, notice that it's the equivalent of anime waifus with boobs the size of 3 microwaves). -Terrible views on slavery (no black characters because the japanese devs are too western white to want to bother learning how to make black characters in a game with slavery). -Another soulless medieval dirt game for white adult males in the US, made solely for profit, even though white adult males in the US make up 1.4% of the population on Earth. This obviously is even a betrayal of Square Enix' own country. Then people ask why women don't seem to like games as much as men. They don't like a type of media, a platform for stories? I wonder why. -Dog. Considering dogs have guaranteed my rapidly approaching suicide, yes, I'm absolutely saying dog is a justifiable reason to dislike the game. If of 8.7 million animal species (animals specifically, which is already limiting and worrying because of their nature), you pick specifically "running predator with a trap as a mouth that can explode 8 times a second", that's absolutely a you problem, maybe even a you disaster. Just for the last detail, think of how many nice people have been eradicated throughout history through sheer force of sound from these monsters, people who would've been perfect examples and leaders of peace. I rest my case. -Honestly, the first two hours of the game were just depressing, including the cutscenes where the prince basically smiles at a peasant throwing themselves on the floor to function as a carpet to protect the prince's feet from dirt. Bonus point! I didn't watch past the first 2 hours, but the "complex meaningless lore available at any moment" system was laughable because it just seemed like the story had such meaningless and complex drama they had to put constant reminders into the game so players had a CHANCE at understanding the story, though I doubt many understood it anyway.

I love Yume Nikki and i played every single fan game derivated from it, and i can say, .flow is special,i followed every release since 2010 and i loved it, Yume 2kki is good but it feels like an amalgamate of ideas of a bunch of people. This one is at the level of Yume Nikki.

joel keeps calling it "flow" but i think it's actually "DOT flow" like "DOT com"
