My parents saw Rickles’ show many times. One night at the Sands, he picked my mom out of the audience for wearing a white suit and turtleneck that made her “look like a U-Boat captain.” My mom cracked up about that for the rest of her life ❤️

I think Vince resembles Bob Hope and is kind of a fast talker like him. I’m sure he saw that in him too

Great chemistry between those two guys. I think of Vince as a bit of a throwback. He's one of those rare talents that could fit in any era of movies or comedy. Bless you Don, you will be missed!

I'm not sure why, but I find Vince's line, "we're just 2 guys talking next to the ocean like guys do" so freaking funny. It's also very, very Vince Vaughan, like something that could've come from his comedies when he's nervous fast talking someone.

AARP is fucking legendary for documenting these string of interviews with an absolute legend in Don Rickles. This will be a gift and a gem to future generations.

Common thread through all of these "Dinner with Don" is how excited younger comics were to meet Don. Almost all were surprised though when one on one with Don they received encouragement and not the dig that was expected. Heart of gold, RIP Don

"Pretty good. You only missed it by a decade." He outdonned Don on that one. Haha

I am so thankful that when I was 18 I was given the pleasure of seeing Don Rickles on stage in Vegas was 1988. I asked for a comp at the black jack table and they gave me a pair of tickets to see Don Rickles will never forget it. God Bless Don

I have been watching some of these episode and Everytime his guest get one joke in you could see his face ligths up like proud papa !! Like he loves that it !like playing tennis or chest ! That their not afraid to throw one on him! Such a sweet intelligent man.RIP!!

That was great editing - having that line come right on the heels of his observation about making fun of "whatever you're most insecure about" to bond with friends.

I love Don Rickles, I miss him so. These episodes are great.

So sad that Don is no longer with us. But this interview series is a great gift showing him in his last months still holding up well. Thanks for the memories Don & AARP!

Just watched a couple of AARP interviews with Rickles. (Galifianakis, Poehler). I would have figured him last in terms of interview skills, but Vince Vaughn has serious talent. This guy needs a late night show. Great interview with the one of a kind.

A double edged sword. Seeing Don frail and yet still very clever. Generations come and go. I think Rickles was the last of his generation. I like Vaughn. He has very good range and hopefully he is around to do his Dinner with Vince.

I can listen to these guys for hours.

Don was a real legend and sharp even at 90. Vince respects the right to be in his presence.

Always liked Vince Vaughn. He’s quick enough and has a genuine realness and likable character enough to be an excellent talk show host. And he listens, absorbs it and then rolls with it and the timing of being serious or making a fun situation is very good.

Whoever dislikes these videos with Don Rickles needs to really get a life

There is something exquisitely real about Vince Vaughn which is genuine, at least to me. I don't know much about him or his acting career but he does an outstanding job interviewing Don here. It's doubtful, to me at least that he could do a funny monologue like all the great talk show hosts seem to have to do. But other than that, being a talk show host could be a perfect fit for him.

Actually, a PT tender. He played in "Run Silent, Run Deep" about a sub, but he talks about how Burt Lancaster wanted him to learn about subs for the movie.

Great interview, great music and amazing sound of the drums.

All of these conversations are so interesting. Some guests try to be clever, to out-Don Don, others treat him like he's like a great grandfather and I don't think Don loved that. Vince, on the other hand, just found common ground and stayed present. Very cool.
