Kenny’s passing hit me hard. I grew up on his music “through the years” and always enjoyed his songs. Certain artists are unique in their own way and Kenny is most definitely one of them. He may be gone but his music and legacy will live forever. Thoughts and prayers go out to Kenny’s family during this time of sorrow. God bless.

Sing a song sweet music man, love, love, that song too. I grew up listening to those songs. Magic is what they were to me. I bet Nashville fell silent at the news, just like it did when Minnie Pearl passed away, I never seen or felt anything like it, it just got so quiet, everywhere I went that day looking for clients was quiet. Bless you fellas for putting yourselves out there while you were hurting in order to pay tribute and help others who are grieving. Angels are what you are. The Gambler got called home. Another legend, remember they never leave us in spirit, they live forever.
I took my wife on our first date to see Kenny and Dottie West in 81 in Davis Ca . That sure helped spark our romance that still exists for us . I will always be a loyal fan. Rest In Peace Kenny

I love all of you and I love kenny! So sad to see this. Brad is from my home state of West Virginia. We are so proud of you Brad! You have been doing so much to keep everyone's spirits up. My mom introduced me to Kenny Rogers through his duet with Dolly Parton, 'Islands in the Stream' when I was 6 or 7 years old. It's still my most favorite of his duets. From his solo songs, there are too many to count. I loved The Gambler, Lady, Daytime Friends, She believes in me to name a few. Heaven just gathered another angle in its gates.

I had two music teachers(voice) try desperately to talk me into going to Nashville. I had never been away from home and actually wanted to be a nurse. I was even talked to by a couple of people that have written songs and made some other people Country Legends. My last Voice teacher sent a demo tape to one of these people and talked to me. However, life goes on. I sing for parties, weddings, and funerals. Family get-togethers. I sang for people that were important to me, my family my friends, a few teachers that made me who I am today. I've sung to patients as they were going through their last days on earth from cancer....and to me, while having a career might have been nice, I've really done what these big-name stars do too....that is making others happy through my music. Kenny, RIP you were one of my favorite artists, I sang your song a lot to my Daddy......RIP Kenny!

Carolyn how are you doing today......
The first song I ever heard by Kenny Rogers was "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town" (written by future country music star Mel Tillis) when Kenny was with the First Edition. Rogers went on to re-record the song on the album "Ten Years Of Gold" which was released in 1977. Kenny Rogers went on to become a successful solo artist during the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, and he sang duets with Kim Carnes, Sheena Easton, Dolly Parton, and Dottie West. He also starred in a series of "Gambler" television movies that were based on the song "The Gambler" which became his signature tune. Then there was his feature film debut from 1982, "Six Pack". Well, Kenny Rogers was quite a musical powerhouse and he did earn his retirement only a few years ago. I enjoyed his music through the years, and yes "Through The Years" was a great song. I especially enjoyed "Planet Texas". We're going to miss you, Mr. Kenny Rogers. That's a fact.
RIP... You will always be remembered and loved and missed, You are a amazing singer .person and a true star bigger then life . The world has lost a legend 😥😥

I loved Kenny and was so sad to hear of his passing. He was blessed with such a beautiful voice and had so many wonderful songs. I can’t name them all, but my favorite was Lady. I also loved She Believes In Me, Don’t Fall In Love With a Dreamer; Kenny and Dolly’s, Islands In the Stream; The Gambler, and so on. If I had a list of his hit songs in front of me I would be reading through them and saying, “Oh yeah, love that one... that one, too! Yes, I forgot about that one!” And I would see many more that I had forgotten about. His TV movies were also favorites. I thought Kenny’s acting was good and he did an exceptional job with his role in The Gambler movies. He also seemed like a pretty decent man. Kenny Rogers will truly be missed.

I saw Kenny Rogers in Vancouver, BC - in 1967, when he was still with "The New Christy Minstrels" . . . just before he split and formed "The New Edition." Even then - he was a standout performer - who not only sang, but entertained. Had a real connection with the audience, as he told a back story about one of the songs he sang (Funny, Familiar, Forgotten Feelings) - a song he didn't actually record 'til 1968. The Kingston Trio were also in town that night - so after everyone's gigs - we all headed to The Riverqueen - a coffee-house during legal hours - a booze can into the wee hours of the morning - where I would sing with the house band. It was a night I will never forget. Loved him forever after that - and was delighted when he & The First Edition got their own TV show ("Rollin' On The River" - then shortened to just "Rollin':) - that was broadcast from Toronto, Ontario (Canada). I was so delighted for his success - and never missed a show 'til it was cancelled.
We miss you Kenny it's going to be hard rest in peace Gambler 😢
