This is her best floor. Great composition and good execution but if you compare it in difficulty and execution to say, Wong's day 2 floor at nationals, the score does seem ridiculously too high

She's definitely improved .. but I think she's the only gymnast I've ever seen to have form breaks leading up to the big skill. Her run looks a little crazy..but there are form deductions in almost every round off- back handspring.

She has a really closed shoulder angle in her round off back handspring . It is crazy she can throw these skills out if it. Because of the bounce of the floor , technique suffers sometimes. She is a beautiful gymnast ! Looks great! Am I crazy or does all the Russian choreograpy look the same ?

Exactly! You know who else had a very open back handspring similar to Biles? Mustafina, you would see her being almost completely extended like biles before bouncing into their tumbling

Thanks for explaining what was going on with her BHSs. To my untrained eye, they looked unusual but I didn’t understand why. Crazy the results she’s producing in spite of her technique!

Thank you for this conversation! As a gymnastics coach, I teach this over and over and over and I use Simone's video of her back handsprings as an example. I don't do these complex drills for the saltos I do very meticulous drills that focus on strengthening the muscles to be able to keep an extended open hip and shouldered back handspring. Teach a proper round off where the feet get to the front and teach a proper back handspring where the feet get behind you as far as they can. Stay low to the ground and you are faster. Hit the floor at the correct angle so you take off like a pole vaulter straight up into the air. Don't take for granted the simple stuff like a back handspring. Again, thank you for this conversation!

G (silivas), F (dos santos), D (memmel), D (dbl wolf), D (dbl l-turn), D (double pike), D (double tuck), C (switch ring) (first 8 )= 3.7 0.1 CV for Memmel + illusion, 0.1 CV for whip dbl pike = 0.2 2.0 CR + .2 dismount = 2.2 = 6.1?

I would say this should be around 14.1, yeah she is overscored but let's not pretend like she is terrible, both of her pikes are pretty good

She has competed internationally many times and always got great scores. She scored 14s everytime she stayed on her feet. Her pikes and double back have great body shape, and her DD wouldn’t get that many deductions. Have you seen how Gadirova scores?

@@vitorhugosantana7053Gadirova has far better acrobatic execution (the bar is incredibly low with these two) yet she hasn’t scored above an 8.4 execution this quad. Listunova wouldn’t deserve more than an. 8.2 execution for this routine.

Great routine. But a 14.7? That seems a bit high.

Music is interesting but her artistry and flexibility are unmatched. I’m not here to blow smoke but you can tell the Russians are ballet trained from a young age and that it’s carried out through the duration of their training. It’s a positioning thing that makes a floor routine so fluid and “artistic”.

This is one of her best routines this year. I never liked this music and I find this choreo mediocre (being generous), but I find funny that if was Biles, Lee or any other famous USA's gymnast, this comment section wouldn't receive ⅓ of these critiques, just comments like "OMG SHE'S SO GOOD. A PIECE OF JOY 😍🤩🥰" lol I mean, of course this isn't a brilliant set like a soviet gymnast but I would love to see the same kind of comments on other series like her's around the world...

This was an 8.0 E at best, and I would take artistic deductions as well.

I think her second tumbling pass is one out of bounds in 1 foot.

It definitely is. They didn't put lines on the mat like at most competitions so that they could have plausible deniability in the over-scoring.

Lots of over scoring here… there was some over scoring in San Jose Too…but our gymnasts are more talented! They have muscle on their legs etc ❤

Both of you are the reason why Americans get so much hate all over the world Yes, Americans are good but so are other gymnasts from other countries, don’t forget that since the Olympics Americans haven’t won an AA at the world level, they depend on Simone, otherwise they struggle, even with her they did in Tokyo, does that mean they are bad? Of course not, it means that there’s other gymnasts outside the USA who are great too, you guys are extremely xenophobic and you don’t even realize about it.

Solid effort. Her double double isn't tucked enough.l. Will incur mandatory deductions . Fell out of her illusion full. Nice Memmel though! Any arm wavering in a wolf turn should be an mandatory deduction. Don't care who it is. It shows instability. Beautiful Double L to an attitude, Nice Whip to Double Pike. Over use of wrists in my person opinion. SOLID leap shapes, but sloppy landings....... And NO SENIOR should be finishing with a double tuck. So many positives, just to finish with a let down.

I sure wish she had better music choices.... I don't understand how the first half goes with Ghostbusters :P

i miss her floor music from the 2021 european championships... it was very unique and exciting

8.7 E with those landings and lack of precision in the turns is absurd. It was a great routine and would be around a 14 internationally but the scoring just makes me want to throw my phone.

Relax, Karen haha Gym fans around the world were used to see USA gymnasts getting overscored in international competitions, like Raisman and almost a 9 of execution on bars in a Olympic Games. This is just an national champs and this girl won't be in Paris. If the rest of the World survived with overscored by USA gymnasts all these years, you can survive for this too LOL

They are always overscored, in any country, except for China some years like 2007/2008, when they put 14 in series that would receive 15 outside... It's useless being angry by a national's results. Any regular gymnastics fan knows too well that Russian Cup, Russian Nationals, Voronin Cup, etc. scores are always over, I don't know why people has the uncontrollable urge to disagree with the posted scores and start pointing deductions, in every single Russian home meeting video on KZread, every routine, every event, every year.

Judges really are just gonna ignore that out of bounds on her dos santos? Why not? They ignored every other deduction.

I thought it was quite untidy and would get scored lower internationally. Impressive work though.

It’s not “untidy” at all. Judges used to give her 8.3-8.5 at Euros and Olympics and she’s cleaner now.

@@vitorhugosantana7053I rewatched to see if I was being fair. I think perhaps the choreography makes it look untidy to me, so not her fault. But they weren’t all clean landings, she had an extra step on a turn. I still don’t think it would have scored that highly in worlds and euros.

Wow, I had never seen so many Americans being so hateful towards a Russian gymnast since Komova/Mustafina I love how they preach love but as soon as they see someone they don’t like they show their true colors. I’m sure everyone has seen that guy tambam or whoever it is, being hating on every single competition I’m sure he’s the type of person who posted a black picture when the George Floyd thing happened but who’s also quick to judge people who aren’t American haha, the hypocrisy is UNREAL

@@colesmith7509 Gadirova and Andrade both got 14.400 on floor at last worlds and this is better. With an 6.0+ D score (by my math I think she was attempting a 6.1 D score here, not sure what was downgraded...) mid-14s should not be too surprising, scores shouldn't be based on what is typical they should be based on the math, and this is gonna be a routine that's pushing into the higher realm.

Just when I thought Russia had managed to make one single music composition for floor that wasn’t corny or clownish, the ghostbusters theme plays 🤦🏻‍♀️

i’m sure people don’t know how international judges think… after worlds this routine would score 14.4-14.6 for sure… she had the 2nd best floor score in tokyo with a easier routine and the artistry on this routine is chef kiss.

One critique that is probably not being recognized is how she’s not “performing” her routine. It feels like she is just showing skill after skill, with very little engagement to the music.

I would be interested to know if the Russian gymnasts believe their absurd scores themselves? Could be, because internationally they always look so sad after their routines, because they are then evaluated so very differently. This routine was good, but definitely not 14.7, but between 14.0 and 14.3 maximum.

@@doobydooo519hahahahaahaha they don’t even come CLOSE, first of all, the only gymnast in the United States ( after 00s) who was really elegant and artistic was Nastia Liukin, and she is naturally Russian. the others just try, mustafina, komova, afanasyeva, pavlova, even korkhina… no us gymnast come close to their elegance and artistry, and i’m not even russian… americans always think they are the best in the everything, but guess what? in international competitions you’re not the only ones who count and gives the scores
