The video that you watched was not performed for the audience in the concert hall. It was a digital show during the pandemic. But that's not even the point. Most of the audience at Dimash's concerts know not only the meaning of the songs he performs, but also many of them by heart. Whatever language they are in! We don't need subtitles anymore. Nevertheless, many bloggers watch his videos without subtitles, because for them music and vocals can convey more emotions than text. Someone just reads the text in advance, someone on the contrary - after listening. It's your choice what to do. But take into account the fact that Dimash does not have meaningless songs. The lyrics of most of his songs are very deep, and in some they are simply killing on the spot. In addition, Dimash often just draws words with his voice. And it's so amazing to see, hear and feel it!

Although "SOS" originated in a French-Canadian rock opera, "Starmania," in the 1970's, Dimash first discovered it when Gregory Lemarchal, a contestant on a French talent show, performed it emotionally several times just before dying at the age of 23 awaiting a lung transplant in the hospital. Gregory had Cystic Fibrosis and had to sing, dance and act on that talent show with just 25 percent of his lung capacity. Nevertheless, he won that season's show and Dimash was inspired enough to grab the song with its emotional lyrics and make it his own. Later on, Dimash's best friend, Kazakh Olympic figure skater, Denis Ten, was murdered at the age of 25 attempting to keep hoodlums from stealing items off of his car. Dimash has sung the song in tribute to Denis as well. The deaths of two others who were close to Dimash----his long time teacher, who died of Covid, and his grandfather who died a couple of years ago, have added to the meaning of "Why do I live, why do I die," and result in Dimash singing it so passionately each and every time. Incidentally, the original performer of "SOS", Daniel Belavoine, died in a helicopter accident in his mid 30's. So much tragedy associated with such a beautiful song.

Thanks for responding to the suggestions! Worth re-listening with subtitles, isn't it? Dimash's songs often have really deep lyrics, which are worth knowing. They also explain his vocal choices. SOS is an existential song. As you noticed, those up and down moving vocals illustrate the lyrics. They describe a mind that is in trouble and questions his entire existence. Very expressive and touching. The song is originally composed like that. Of course, Dimash performs his own, unique version of it. He does that with all the covers he performs. Nowadays, Dimash rarely does covers. He mainly publishes his own music, and has also started composing most of his songs himself. Music is a universal language, and Dimash knows this language wonderfully. He is able to convey the message of a song even without words. I am often moved to tears, even though I don't understand anything. This is especially the case with many of his folk songs - he interprets them really touchingly! I warmly recommend his Kazakh songs like Qairan Elim and Samaltau (his beautiful, emotional middle voice, which you liked a lot, can be heard in both. I love it too). Of course, the song can be heard "only" as music. I still always find out about words, preferably also in the original language. Dimash has said that he only chooses songs whose lyrics are meaningful to him. He doesn't sing about anything; he wants to convey a specific message. Sure, I want to hear what he has to say! His voice is already everything I can hope for. But knowing the words elevates the experience to a whole other level emotionally and spiritually. I also feel that nothing less would be enough. Dimash is such a profound artist.

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than twelve(12) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. Here is the trick with Dimash, in my personal opinion: like you, I really love to just experience his performance, especially because he gives SO MUCH in every single one. But, that being said, I also feel that for most of his songs it's good to at least go back and watch them with subtitles even just on your own simply because many of his songs have very positive and uplifting messages. And some of them have incredibly powerful and necessary messages. So that would be my suggestion: watch them for your initial reaction and then at some point not too long after enjoy the message. You have probably already noticed that there are a lot of very strong opinions when it comes to Dimash and sadly it can be a bit difficult to decide which ones you want to adopt for yourself. Please take everything we say in here with a grain of salt and choose to ignore the Dears who aren't actually very Dear-like. 😅 On that note there is one hard and fast rule among Dears (at least all the Dears I have ever interacted with) and that is this: NEVER react to any of the performances from World's Best. It's a huge thing, they were horrible to Dimash, and it's a big no-no to do reactions for that program among his fan base. Trust me when I say it's best to avoid it. The only other major recommendation that is often shared among Dears is that it's a good idea to hold off on reacting to "The Story of One Sky" until you are a bit more familiar with Dimash not only as an artist but also a person. That is really more for your benefit than anything; having a deeper appreciation for Dimash will make the experience so much more vivid and will evoke more in you which is what it is designed to do. Can't wait for more Dimash on your channel! Oh! And for "Diva Dance" my personal favorites are either his performance of it at Bastau or Drunken Concubine+Diva Dance from "Singer"! Have fun! Love from Oregon!

Thank you for doing this again. Dimash (Dee mah sh) Is unlike any singer you have ever heard, singing in about 15 languages. His lyrics are very important. They are his message. In fact he wishes people would not focus on how many octaves he has. In addition many of his songs have a very deep, sometimes tragic backstory...Daididau, Daybreak, Ikanaide. (incidently those 3 songs are in Kazakh, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese). For at least those 3 songs you should Google the backstory. It is also cool to watch for the 15 or 16 or so he has written himself. For the rest, we Dears will fill you in. Incidently he has 1500 fan clubs in 150 countries and some have estimated his fan base at about 2B, with over 800M in China alone. One of his most recent concerts had approximately 40,000 people from almost 80 countries who traveled to Istanbul for it. He has also done a number of incredible original movie theme songs. His second for Jackie Chan is being released on July 12 with a score by Nathan Wang and Dimash singing the theme song during the credits. It is easy when you first discover him to think he is an unknown, but he is hardly that...just in the US and probably becouse he insists on being his own producer and will not be controlled by a music company.

Something good to know... take a few moments, at the end of his songs, to see if there are a few words, or actions, from him... it shows the humanitarian side of him. You learn more about him. His forte is live performances, but his videos are nothing but class, from beginning to end. I found him on the seance installment of a Chinese singing show called ''Singer", in early 2017, and have found it hard to go a day without hearing a bit of Dimash. ha. His vast talent of technique, breath control and stage presence make him the Superstar that he is, now. The beauty of the foreign languages he sings in, make the English language sound crass. He has come along way, these recent years, with his English. I hope you stick along for the ride. The 'Dears' (what he calls his fans.,. so sweet!...) will fill you in. And don't mind it if some get a little carried away... they really love Dimash!!!! Kathy from Kansas City

But you can choose any work, and you still won't make a mistake, Dimash always surprises and strikes at the very heart.

Incase no one has said this yer - this is a very special song for Dimash - when much younger he and his school time friend - Denise, a very successful ice skater, were due to sing this song on stage together. Denjs died suddenly in some sort of accident i think. Dimash ofcourse was devastated. Sometimes u can see in some of his purformances of S.O.S how we can see how emotjonal he gets. One performance he told the audience at one of his concerts of the tragic story of Denise's death. It was extraordinary painful for him. But im sure too it brings comfort and helos keep his friendship memories - Hope so anyway. I say this as my son was killed in an industrial accident. Obviously we all hve our own ways, but i think and hope it is so for Dimash. Look forward to lots of your Dimash reviews. We think we get to know his "style" but actually he has no one style, just pure talent . Enjoy your Dimash journey. Dont get tied up re pronunciation of his name. We all knoa who u mean and most oeople say - Dim aash - spelling is phonetic. U eill know it is sorlt Dimash

Diva Dance, the blue alien song from Bastau. It is short but there are other videos and performances where he also does it and you are going to be so shocked. Show others to Dimash. If he does not like one style he does, he will like another, like his more blues R and B style in When I've Got You MV. He is a heck of an actor as well which you will learn.

Uncle Scott! I just had this Dimash video come up on my feed. He's speaking Kazakh, I believe but it Does have English subtitles. Here Dimash just speaks of his experiences of performing in China and is a good way for you to hear his natural speaking voice. (no singing, just a few BRIEF clips of just a few of his performances.) I suggest you to just watch and listen to what he has to say as it will also reveal the type of person he is. URL below: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ln1_ytGkcrTSiqQ.html

There are at least two awesome versions of Diva Dance you should react together because the first is very sort. It's from his first solo concert in Kazakhstan called Bastau in 2017. It was after he finished The Singer competition. It’s a short one but mind-blowing. Diva Dance Bastau: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oWmur9ephbLNgdI.html What fascinates me the most is, that he sang this song in his concert where he had already been on stage for almost 2 hours. Just unbelievabel🤯. And there is another awesome version of Diva Dance. It’s called Drunken Concubine and it is from the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in China. He sings with Li Yugang, a great Chinese Opera singer who usually plays a female in classic Peking opera. He is a very famous singer in China. The two harmonize so well together. It’s really fantastic. I love it and I’m sure you will like it, too🥰. You can react this two songs together because the Bastau version is really short (1.42 minutes). Some other reactors do. There are also more little vocal-surprises in this second video. Diva Dance + Drunken Concubine Spring Festival: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aohnrJuNobiTgbA.html Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️.

I'll repeat here what I posted in the other video: This song is a pearl of the French songbook: It is a French-Canadian cyberpunk-rock opera called “Starmania”, written in 1976 by Michel Berger (France) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine, Diane Dufresne and Gregory Lemarchal. The theme of the song is depression: In the 2021 version, Dimash faithfully and brilliantly presents a sentimental and melancholy interpretation! As the singing decisions follow the original structure of the song, which serves to show the psychological instability of the afflicted character: From the chest voice to the head voice and then to falsetto, the author sought to show a broad need to overcome a moment of despair and the pretense of accepting to reach a higher perspective! Dimash, currently at his concerts, dedicates this song to his friends and acquaintances who have departed this world! Original version - Daniel Belavoine - kzread.info/dash/bejne/a5-O16ahpbfRqKg.html

React to "Diva Dance" Bastau concert only thing is it's a very short performance. So maybe you could react to another song as well? Another fantastic young singer you should definitely react to is 20 year old Lucy Thomas from the UK. Many reactors say she has the most beautiful voice in the world. She has over 70 videos up on utube, and has released 6 studio albums. I would love to hear your opinion.

Hey, great reactions. Most of us pronounce his name Dee-mosh. Ha, yes I had a chuckle when you said cartoons the first time because I think it was even at that point in the song! So many of us have called Dimash an alien or an angel. At first I also thought of angel wings, but I was corrected. You see, the Golden Eagle is a very big part of Kazak culture, so I think those are Dimash's eagle wings. You won me over, see you next time! Also there are 2 other videos of him singing SOS that are so worth watching- the first was back in 2017 when it was his first appearance in China on the show, The Singer. He was unknown in China and the very next day he needed body guard from there on out. Jackie Chan called him up and invited him over, and he became an instant star. Sometime later, I don't know, maybe 9 months to a year Dimash released a music album and it went platinum in 90 seconds, later the sales reached triple platinum status as I've heard ( I could have the details wrong!) It's a gas to watch that one for sure! The other one is called Slavic Bazaar and it's a very clear, very wonderful performance as well. Let me tell, there are so many great songs to get to, some even written by Dimash himself, so don't get too hung up with those SOS, as wonderful as they are.

My fellow "Dears" (Dimash fans) will provide great suggestions (ie: Stranger, Sinful Passion, Adagio, +++). Two more prodigies trained from early childhood are Diana Ankudinova (Queen of Goosebumps) and Angelina Jordan (Barefoot Princess). Diana, true contralto with polyphonic overtones, will blow you away with Can't Help Falling In Love and Wicked Game +++. Twice winner of You Are Super contest, absolutely otherworldly. Angelina will shock you with I Put A Spell On You at 9 and Bohemian Rhapsody from AGT at 13. Won Norway's Got Talent at 7. These three are the "Prodigy Trifecta," each deservedly with their own rabid fan base. Happy that Roymer turned you on to the King, Dimash. Subbed.
