    I'm not a carcinologist, but comparing pics of different species, this looks more like a Brown crab than a Dungeness or Rock crab. The Dungeness crab doesn't have dark tips on the claws, and the Rock crab has stubbier grasping claws and a more pointed fringe around the edge of the body shell. Still looks tasty.

    I am a carcinologist - you’re right, it’s a brown/edible crab (Cancer pagurus), they’re unmistakable.

    I think their called edible crabs or brown crabs. They got that pie crust edge on the shell.

    Where do they procure female Dungeness crabs? They are illegal to harvest on the entire west coast of the US and Canada.

    @@yeulakho6574 Dungeness crabs (Metacarcinus magister) aren’t present in the seas of the Russian Far East. They live from the Aleutian Islands to California.

    I’m going to put a comment down for all of the people arguing as to what these are. No, these are not Dungeness Crabs (Metacarcinus magister), these aren’t red rock crabs (Cancer productus) either. These are called “Edible” or “Brown” crabs (Cancer pagurus), they are a species native to the Northeast Atlantic which are sometimes exported abroad. They’ve come a long way to get to Vietnam.

    DUNGENESS is native from California to Alaska. Must be expensive over there it’s 5-10$ a lb here in California

    Delicious another way of cooking crabs, but to me the best way is just steam it and dip in butter or tomato with fish sauce and chilli and of course rice.

    я бы выбрал второе блюдо. Там по крайней мере за тебя повар отделил съедобное от несъедобного. С клешнями всё понятно, но с туловищем не разберешь, где еда, а где то, что краб съел вчера.

    Google Dungeness crab and take a look at the color and shape of the two front claws. No Dungeness crab has dark tips. Also, these crab are too round. I’ve literally caught thousands of these things - I kinda know what I’m talking about.

    This is not dungeness crab. You can tell by the size of the claw it's clearly a rock crab and specifically it's a red rock crab both females identified by the color and oval (not rigid) shell. Thumbs down
