Not only is he the best guitarist to ever have lived, he might also be the best human. Usually virtuosos are either up their own arse or so bereft of social skills having locked themselves away from the rest of society to hone their skills that they're awkward to listen to. He's a bit quirky, but not so much that it comes across as weird.

this is a playlist i put together of Guthrie jamming at a local pub called Hot Hob (i think he lives nearby) kzread.info/head/PLIQ3vCQcbnhgxyyegzvjYAENmj3o9rXIT the Hot Hob channel has tons of jamming videos and, among those, it's quite hard to find the few ones with Guthrie, therefore I suppose hardly anyone knows of them.

Yup, I’m the same! Unfortunately, basswood guitars are balanced tonality wise and I suppose more smoother but they loose all characteristics because of it and become bland with a flat EQ, hence why a strat and gibson are so recognisable

I always wondered what was that Wah sounding pedal he frequently uses, because there was no way he was moving his foot so fast as to open up the sound on each note of his fast runs. Turns out it's an envelope filter and not a wah!
