Everyone knows the truth about what Maui Police faced that day. While trying to funnel cars out of Lahaina - especially on Lahainaluna Ave. residents were desperately were racing in to their residential area using all of the lanes - both in bound and out bound lanes because there were kids, pets, family members and the homes themselves- that people that were at work were trying to get to - in an effort to save them. So those residents clogged escape routes countering what Maui Police had set up. - Don’t listen to the news - they are wrong.

As a public safety official (from vol. fire fighter all the way up to mayor)... in an "emergency" you clear the exits and assist the people you swore to serve in moving them as fast as you can to safety. Can "anyone" looking in retrospect of the Lahaina fire say they did that, or for that matter even attempted to do that? I'd say, just the opposite, and this is why prosecutions need to occur.

Same thing happened on an evacuation route in the Paradise, CA, Camp Fire. The police officer was following orders to keep the lane clear. I yelled at him to open the lane because of the traffic but it made no difference. Meanwhile, there was miles of traffic backed up and cars stuck in the flames because of the traffic. People had to abandon their vehicles and flee on foot as a result.

@@jenniferdwight262 There we’re no cars left in piles on Front St. near the Kapunakea exit from Front and the Safeway. No cars ended up trapped at the other exit further north at Fleming. The burnt cars in a pile up on Front was on front they appear to come from both direction and appear to be cars seeking to get into the water between Baker and Papaluna. Once a few cars blocked the road, at that spot…you stayed there for the ocean safety. There were other cars burnt but it was random pullovers and in parking lots. The conclusion is: It was simply to many cars in a funnel going north. Everyone went north on the one highway, all 13,000. Besides a group who knew how to take a back road and that was just as clogged. This was all poor city planning ….but who plans for mass evacuations?

According to an AP report, the only ones who survived Lahaina’s deadly fire were the ones who disobeyed orders. Everyone who ordered roadblocks should be in prison.

The remaining survivors on the island are now so overwhelmingly overpowered by "officials" they might as well consider it lost territory now and start a new life somewhere else. Clearly very powerful people have a plan for the future there and they weren't part of it. People that stay and try to rebuild will surely regret it no matter how strong their attachment to the place. There was no valid reason for the police to have blocked off any of those roads. According to HECO, none of the downed power lines were live so they didn't present a danger to anyone crossing them. HECO said the power had been cut to West Maui for 6 hours when people were evacuating Lahaina. Who ordered the streets blocked off, and why?

the school buses are run by Ground Transport Inc, they have 16 long format school buses that can carry upto 72 children and six smaller buses that hold 30 children ! They were all parked before the fire at their parking situated at the Pioneer Smokestack on LahainaLuna Street ! I have managed to confirm by looking at video footage filmed after the fire that there are currently now only 4 long shcoolbuses and 3 shorter format Schoolbuses, when , we know there were 16 long and 6 short parked there before the fire ! So question is where are the 12 long buses and 3 short buses right now .... who moved them and why !! thats 954 seats of transport so did they tell the children at schools in the morning that there was a fire and that they were being evacuated from their school to a place of " safety " which turned out to be a place of cages , where they would await further transportation to shipping containers heading to here the mainland !! I reckon this to be the solution on where are the children !

Please go to Hawaii realtor and see what's happening there. He was detained today on his way to a funeral on the outer city limits and pulled over and he was stopped and told due to the proclamation he can't stop or film or take pictures on the bipass. 7 cops later he was cited for a proclamation violation and not having a front plate. The officers also wouldn't identify themselves. It's maddening.

And only because he asked a female officer about the law that forbids people to park on the highway and take photos. She refused to give him her name and called more officers to deal with him. This is so absurd!

Looks like lawsuits are in the making, for this BS prohibiting citizens from their lawful right to film, and I suspect for a whole lot of the deaths.

June 16th 2024, if you read the Hawaii Attorney general's report, in the phone logs, you will find that the Maui police department and HECO we're in contact with each other 8 Times from 513 a.m. to 3:01 pm. This was documented in the report, I only researched to 301 p.m.. and I believe there is more contact than this. Also, Pelletier ordered one of his officers to check on HECO Repair Progress on closed Southern Exit at Hwy 30 and Hokiokio place. and at 4:37 pm a Police officer ordered HECO to clear their repair vehicles off evacuation Lanes and open road South on Hwy.30! Unclear as to why police chief Pelletier wasn't handling this earlier in the day with HECO Department Heads? Hwy 30 South at Papalua had been closed From 5:52 AM until somewhere around 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. = major evacuation escape route closed for 11 1/2 hours during an extreme wind event, power outage, traffic signals out, red flag warnings, Poles Leaning and Breaking all over town, an early morning fire in central Lahaina and The noon Fire at 2:55 pm and still No HECO department head in the Emergency Operations Center until 6:45 p.m. at night!! something is wrong with all of this. So, there is a lot of proof that Maui was in contact with HECO and Maui officials failed to make sure there was a free and clear viable Southern evacuation escape route out of town! Poles should have just been cleared and evacuation Lanes opened! I don't buy the big lying story that the Maui police department and the Mayor and everyone else in Lahaina thought the power was still on and the Power lines could electrocute you and the public was unable to roll their cars over the lines! everybody saw the HECO work Crews handling the bare wires and up high in the polls working on the bare wires!! there were lots of phone conversations and confirmations that Power was OFF between Maui police department and HECO. now why, at 4:37 pm, was a lower Level police officer, and not the Police chief, ordering HECO to Clear the whole Southern evacuation route so the towns people could escape, is beyond me??? Anyway, go check the records and see For yourselves and then ask, why was the public endangered by all of this?

How is it that homes were burned but none of the big business were touched? They were literally next to each other!! Suspicious!!

This was not simply incompetence... This was calculated. Somebody wanted EVERYONE dead. Nobody left to interfere with the plan.

They didn't sound the emergency sirens their own website admits is used for wildfires, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, hazmat spills, and tsunamis. They block the only road out of town. The power was completely out, they knew those lines weren't energized. This was intentional.

Yup, same in the UK when residents of Grenfell Tower were told to stay in their homes by the Fire Brigade whilst the flames completely consumed the building and killed everyone who didn't save themselves. Funnily we are still to see a single person charged with any crimes from the deaths of 72 people, when the building was dangerously constructed and covered in flammable cladding! After this incident I no longer support the police. They are useless and should be completely defunded nationwide.

This is reminding me of the Gatlinburg fires of TN. This is a much larger scale of course but they had roadblocks and would tell people to stay in their homes during the fire and people still think the death numbers are misrepresented as a lot of undocumented people probably perished. No one was evacuated and some were told the opposite and ended up dying in their homes. I hope any mishandling is made public in Hawaii, as here it just died down and nothing ended up happening to any official, even the 911 operators telling callers to stay home while they themselves evacuated their own homes and brought pets and family in the office for safety.

Those powerlines were sabotaged. If the winds were strong enough to knock over powerlines, SUVs and trucks would be flipped over.

PSA: This is why you never ever vote against your 2nd Amendment rights or support gun bans. Your guns will be the only thing that forces a tyrannical Law Enforcement to respect your life and liberties.

As former LE, whom took their Oath seriously, these officers should be ashamed, stripped of their badges (which they do not deserve), and face criminal charges both within the United States and, quite frankly, internationally for crimes against humanity, just as a certain party did in the past. As others have already pointed out, filming things that are visible from an open, public space is an established constitutional right. It seems highly unlikely that "emergency" bans by state or local governments would survive a constitutional challenge. What horrible harm is being caused? Here, it appears the motivation may be the deliberate suppression of speech that draws attention to the poor performance by emergency officials & the police, rather than some noble "emergency" purpose. Exactly the kind of speech protected by the US Constitution.

You are absolutely right.

I've gotten to know a many of cops in my time. And I've known a many of people whom have been denied entry to the force, ALL only after the psychological exams. Knowing their personalities, I've concluded over the years that you are only accepted if you are mentally ready willing and able to be subordinate, obedient and aggressively believe that the orders you are given is the only thing that counts and to never question your superiors. It's reinforced by the behind the scenes police culture/interactions, which is many decades preexisting and becomes cult like, all thinking identically. The cops that slip in through the cracks that are free thinkers and conscionable are weeded out, either by pressure to leave the force or assigned job placements outside of public relations. Please do not misconstrued. I am NOT a cop hater. I just feel compelled to tell my humble evaluation of my many many years of experiences, encounters and information I've cultivated with lots of time spent putting the pieces of the puzzle together. I back the blue. We do need police. But like all human systems, they become corrupted, manipulated and politisized and become yet another over reaching abuse of power. And I'm certainly not saying that ALL cops are bad people. There is good and bad people in every and any group of people (although psychologically, "bad" people are attracted to power). But really it is the system that is intentionally structured to have a widespread large group of armed and above the law people to obey the chain of commands in which goes much higher than the ranks of the departments. At the top of the chains sits our "representatives", which we all know by now are owned by the corporate powers. So ultimately, the cops are doing the bidding of corporations. They dont/can't see that because they are 27 times removed by all the ranks and names of the officials etc. Bill gates isn't calling the cops directly on their radios. Of course I sympathize with the cops to a great degree. They make their living by following orders. And they have bills to pay and a family to support. But where do we draw the line? At some point we need to realize that many of today's orders we follow are destructing the world in which we pay our bills and support our family in. Sometimes we have to step back and look at the big picture. Someone in my family was a police officer and he was told to do the wrong thing?. But instead did the right thing and was told to find another job somewhere else. So he did. That's ashamed. You're being told not to do the right thing!?. What is going on!?. 😳

What truly happened here is probably worse than any conspiracy theory you can come up with, that's how bad this was.

Those police officers need to be arrested.

The police chief is ultimately in charge of those road blocks. Even if he had orders from someone higher... Untimely, he agreed to follow those deadly orders. He deserves the death penalty for a mistake SO MASSIVE! I could never make a mistake like that. 1000X and I would never make that mistake. So many killed needlessly.
