The blue car and the blue umbrellas didnt burn. There are also several green stuff that seem to be untouched by the fire.

At 0:10 alone we have about 7 examples (including the famous parasols as 1). In the footage above as a whole the bl** automobiles surviving and failing to add up number 4 in total... Not just 1. Newsweek rubbished this story on August 23rd, saying it was a hoax, and photos illustrative of the effect were not from Lahaina, or even Maui. The above is Lahaina, and Maui, is it not? [In a way Newsweek shot itself in the foot, as some of those photos of bl** or gr*** things surviving fires are INDEED not from Maui...]

How is it possible for metal and steel to completely melt yet 10 feet away another building still standing and the trees green with their leaves? The similarities to paradise is undeniable…

This is so heartbreaking. Also, it seems to me that those celebrities who live on the islands, but were spared, could do so much more than *pillows* to help these people. (my opinion)

I'm from nova scotia and I lived in Lahaina back in the mid to late 80s I worked on all the islands for a sales company but decided to quit when I was in Lahaina and they were sending us back to Honolulu I was very good at my job and knew I could go back to work with them at any time so I Said nope I like this place and am not ready to leave it was the best decision I ever made I moved out of a fancy hotel into an old house just off the main street with some crazy old lady and a nice girl from Kansas and a buddy that worked with me until he got fired he started dating the older lady she wasn't that old actually and the girl from Kansas was one of the nicest people but I had a blast, swimming across the street every day and going to the bars at night and net so many many cool people I was in my early 20s and it turned out to be one of my best memories I have of living anywhere and I lived all over the world in the years to follow but the time I spent on Maui in Lahaina were the best and to hear about the loss of life and the destruction of the town is so sad I can't even put into words how sad this makes me ,I retired early and had plans in moving to Maui for good I think I'm going a bit sooner to see if I can lend a helping hand I'm sure any help will be needed for sure so now to figure out where to go where to get a home base there I planned on moving to Hana I hope it's untouched

Seems to me that Metal roofs will now be mandatory for Lahaina to rebuild. I bet some resorts are going to sweep in and start purchasing up the land for the future hotels.

Because using the DEW they didn't have all day.. the laser only cover a certain area and therefore some cars was not targeted as well as the celebreties adresses important to them was spared... Your government are not what you think they are...

Might be a bit morbid, but I'm very grateful for this raw footage. I do some work with a news channel and by the time I'm making the video most footage is watermarked

If it doesn't raise suspicion I don't know what will.

I used to live right behind that first big building it showed when the video started I was working for a company I started with in Canada but the head office was in Florida but I quit down in Hawaii after working on all the islands and I moved into this old house just off the main street across from the big banyan tree and I hear that the beautiful banyan tree might not survive the scorching it took that's itself is sad it's such a local landmark for Lahaina I spent two years on the islands and its one of the best places I ever lived at and the people were the very best of the best this us very sad and the number of deaths is heartbreaking houses and buildings can be replaced but the most important part of the islands the People can't be replaced this is so sad I can't get my head around the incredible loss of life it's extremely heartbreaking .

I was there a month before that, it was so beautiful and now it’s destroyed

I met a homeless man who greeted me and my family and helped us, I hope he is okay

At 0:10 there are at least seven examples in one frame, and before and after we see in detail that they are metal, cloth, wood and plastic, items large and small... There are many more examples in pictures of Lahaina overall... In terms of automobiles, the above footage shows at least 4 examples of very apparent differential survival...

Many roof materials are fire resistant, so are materials used for siding. My roof is metal and metal siding. We often have fires in Colorado. Many things can be mitigated to avoid such disasters with proper building materials and responsible care of land.
